I light candles for my friend Waxnrope and for Dolo... as she continues her battle.... may she never stop believing, and for you, T...you are such a good support for her- I love that about you. we are praying for you all. I continue to keep my candles burning soft and gentle for all of us who need a reminder that someone cares. |

Complications canceled Milana being transferred to an acute reahab place to wean her off the ventilator yesterday. The feeding tube, which was the simple surgical procedure she was admitted for became dislodged and they have been injecting meds, quarts of liquid feedings into the tube was just going into her belly. She looked at me and I knew she was in horrible pain yesterday. She wrote that she needed ice bags on her tummy, and was so terrified when a nurse came to give her more meds in the feeding tube. They knew two days ago it was having problems..So, they rushed her down for a CAT scan, saw it was not in the stomach, and today took it out. This afternoon they loaded her with Morphine and Propofol, and said she needed to rest, so she wouldn't dislodge the trach, like she did the feeding tube. I WAS LIVID, and her sister saved me from losing it with a cocky bitch of a nurse. Milana wasn't sick until these people got ahold of her. So, she is one tuff butch cookie, and fighting for her life. My buddy is very very sick, and there is nothing we can do, but keep defending her life from assholes. So, lighting a candle factory is not a good thing I spose, but geeesh, i need lots of light and help for my Bud. |

Lighting candle for Milana. :vigil: She goes to surgery today for a new feeding tube to be put in, since the first one was just leaking into her abdomen.
Still on ventilator from the 16th feeding tibe insertion, emergency trach, and ICU admission. Still unable to speak. Still a vulnerable scared butch in a big hospital bed with tubes and monitors everywhere. On my way to ICU.Thank you all for the love and light. Please light a candle for my brother Ray, he was in a bad motorcycle accident they flew him to Denver from his home in Nebraska. They were riding with friends (my brothers Ray and Terry) when they came to the curve Ray just kept going straight and never used his brakes. He hit a sign and went down. There is signs of heart trauma so they think he was having a heart attack. He is in a medically induced comma. He has broken legs, arms, ribs, punctured lung, a blocked neck artery, some cranium bleeding and vertebrae C2-C7 are broken but wiggles his toes on command so they don't believe he is paralyzed. Today they are going to reduce the comma a little and access what to do about he bleeding. They have plans for most of his healing but the vertebrae...most paralysis comes at the C4-C5 and they are afraid to do to much at the moment. He will be placed in a halo at some point. Thank you.

Thanks everyone. I am waiting to hear from a meeting today. He has a blocked artery in his neck and some cranial bleeding. They are meeting with doctors this afternoon to look at the plan of action for healing. Thank you again for all your prayers.

So....the main concern at this juncture is a clot in one of the 4 major arteries to his brain. they can't repair the spinal fractures until the clot is resolved. they hope to start blood thinners today if the brain bleed has
ceased. |

Lighting a candle for a friend who's aunt died today or yesterday not really sure!! She was in her 80's I think so she lived long and prospered well.
