Now, we have rain.

Pouring rain.

Mandatory evacuations in the Thomas fire area because of mudslides.

Creeks overflowing their banks.

Mud on freeways, multiple accidents, overturned big rigs.

:praying:

We are starting to thaw a bit. Kitties no longer refusing to visit their patio.
Wearing hoodie today, but want:snowysmiley::snowballfight: more snow...big flakes.

FireSignFemme 01-09-2018 01:51 PM

39 degrees and cloudy here in Eastern Washington.

BullDog 01-09-2018 01:59 PM

76 degrees and sunny in SE New Mexico! :D

Blade 01-09-2018 07:09 PM

Sunny and 65 degrees today
That's a far cry from frozen pipes Friday and power out for 7 hrs Sunday morning when it was 10 degrees

*Anya* 01-11-2018 08:50 AM

17 people killed in the mudslides, 17 still unaccounted for. 100 homes destroyed. 1500 homes still threatened.

500 search and rescue first responders out today with 10 search dogs.

The news just said that they are now calling it search and recovery instead of rescue.

In a usual bizarre twist here in Southern California, it is clear today with a high of 75. By next Wednesday (according to ABC News), it will be up to 81.

We have fires, then rain, then mudslides, then no rain and the cycle starts again.

This morning it was 57 with bright sunshine and no wind. Was actually able to sit at the beach today dressed only in shorts and a light jacket. For weeks, as far as the eye could see, the ocean was a sheet of ice. Today you could actually see water in the distance.

However, that deteriorated into heavy rain and winds this afternoon. The flood advisory was discontinued but wind warnings are back.

Rain will continue but temps will hold until late tomorrow when they drop steadily down to the 20's and 30's.

Thinking tomorrow nights Patriots game is going to be a frozen mud fest.

The calm before the storm... it's 45ish and drizzly. We are expecting a wallop of 9" - 17" of snow, which I think means they don't really know.

QueenofSmirks 01-12-2018 03:19 PM

Amazing - 73 degrees. I love Phoenix!

girl_dee 01-12-2018 03:33 PM

South Carolina - 55 degrees and on second full day or rain and fog...

Ha, was 54 deg here in northeast Ohio this morning. Just finished snow blowing and shoveling 4 inches. Currently 22 deg.

Bring it Mother Nature.

Gemme 01-12-2018 07:55 PM

Flood warning in full effect here. We're on our 2nd or 3rd inch of rain on top of about 16 inches of snow. We're probably going to get about another inch of rain before it's done.

Luckily, I bought DC a two person camping raft so if We need it, it's there.

Yep here too. Burr. Stay warm friend.

candy_coated_bitch 01-13-2018 12:29 AM

It was about 60 degrees here today and and raining and flooding out all the snow. Hope it doesn't all freeze over tonight though. I had my window open listening to the rain for a while, it was nice.

Gemme 01-13-2018 09:26 AM

It's around 50 now but will plunge to 15 in a flash freeze. We're also expecting up to 9 inches of snow this Thursday and then another 5 or so a few days after that. I knew we were in for a steady winter since the last one was so mild.

Phooey.
