A cover of the Christopher Cross song....
Arthur's Theme (The Best That You Can Do) -- Barry Manilow Once in your life you'll find her Someone who turns your heart around And next thing you know You're closin' down the town Wake up and it's still with you Even though you left her way across town You're wonderin' to yourself Hey what've I found When you get caught between the moon and New York City I know it's crazy but it's true If you get caught between the moon and New York City The best that you can do (the best that you can do) The best that you can do is fall in love Arthur he does what he pleases All of his life his master's toys And deep in his heart He's just, he's just a boy Livin' his life one day at a time He's showing himself a really good time He's laughin' about the way They want him to be When you get caught between the moon and New York City I know it's crazy but it's true If you get caught between the moon and New York City The best that you can do (the best that you can do) The best that you can do is fall in love When you get caught between the moon and New York City I know it's crazy but it's true If you get caught between the moon and New York City The best that you can do (the best that you can do) The best that you can do is fall in love When you get caught between the moon and New York City I know it's crazy but it's true If you get caught between the moon and New York City The best that you can do (the best that you can do) The best that you can do is fall in love When you get caught between the moon and New York City I know it's crazy but it's true... ~Theo~ :winky::listening::heartbeat::bouquet: |
The Drifters - Please Stay
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iY2UpSz9Vs' One of my favorite songs by the Drifters that was written by the die-hard romantic, Burt Bacharach (with lyricist Bob Hilliard). |
Dionne Warwick singing Burt Bacharach hit songs (the good stuff)
Dionne Warwick was only 23 years old when she nailed Burt Bacharach's arrangement on the first try. Amazing, right? Here she is, singing another difficult arrangement by Burt Bacharach, his song titled.,... Alfie. If I recall correctly, this song was very difficult to produce as perfectly as Burt Bacharach wanted for this particular recording. I love this song, Alfie. Burt Bacharach and his partner Hal were among the first of artists in the LGBT community I listened to with regularity (we had one of the first FM stations back in the late 60s that played all kinds of music penned by Burt and Hal), years ago. Back when no one necessarily knew that Burt and Hal were Gay and in a committed relationship. |
I am wrong!

Still, I will always love his music. <3 |

In memory of lost loved ones
The Last Goodbye (from the OST of "The Hobbit -- The Battle of the Five Armies") -- Billy Boyd I saw the light fade from the sky On the wind I heard a sigh As the snowflakes cover My fallen brothers I will say this last goodbye Night is now falling So ends this day The road is now calling And I must away Over hill and under tree Through lands where never light has shone By silver streams that run down to the sea Under cloud, beneath the stars Over snow on winter's morn I turn at last to paths that lead home And though where the road then takes me I cannot tell We came all this way But now comes the day To bid you farewell Many places I have been Many sorrows I have seen But I don't regret Nor will I forget All who took that road with me Night is now falling So ends this day The road is now calling And I must away Over hill and under tree Through lands where never light has shone By silver streams that run down to the sea To these memories I will hold With your blessing I will go To turn at last to paths that lead home And though where the road then takes me I cannot tell We came all this way But now comes the day To bid you farewell I bid you all a very fond farewell... ~Theo~ :winky::listening::heartbeat::bouquet: |
