Al the Trainer: "Where the hell have you been?"

Jo: "I'll be there tomorrow between 5 and 6!"
I knew right there and then who it was.....and I am not

Gotta' love those accountability partners!

I get "the look" from the older ladies at Curves if I miss a day. Not the same, but equally effective what with the head shaking and tongue clucking and all. :|

They all know when I'll be on vacation, and when I'll be back....and probably a dozen have said "and we'll see you MONDAY morning, won't we?"

Gulp.

Yes ma'am.

Just Jo sometimes, THE LOOK is more intimidating than yelling.

It's the quiet ones you have to worry about :)

Some new blog entries to catch you up on where I'm at!

Lost 1 pound for my first week using the Fitness Pal. My goal is 1.5 per week. Admittedly, I only did cardio for 2 of the days.

I feel good about the start though.

I gotta tell y'all... I'm feeling kind of angry that reaching a couple of the goals I have requires such sacrifices. Seriously. I'm pissed.

I feel all uppity and entitled when I admit that, but it's true.

Tawse 06-08-2012 07:05 AM

I feel ya... lost 1 pound this past week and that's with eating awesome and biking 5 outta 7 days.

What we have to remember is that it's not all about the weight.. it's about the way clothes fit, it's about heart rates, it's about cholesterol, blood pressure, sugar, and energy levels.

I try to find something every week that has improved. Did I increase the intensity of my bike course? Did my heart rate stay the same even though I went further? Something to grab hold of.

Tawse 06-08-2012 08:18 AM

This sounds awesome and I'm pretty sure will make an appearance on my plate Sunday...

That's like a pound a day!! Are you feeling okay?

I've lost, as of this morning, 8.5 pounds. I'd like to lose 7 more.

I feel like I turned a little corner with making my calories work for me....and also....just learning how to use Fitness Pal. I feel a little more motivated and focused now...........not quite as bitter. ;)

Here's to a good week ahead for everyone!!!

Ginger 06-11-2012 08:40 AM

I'm on vacation. I biked twice yesterday, total about 2 hours and walked a couple hours. I'm eating lots of fruit and yogurt and lobster and crab roll. I'm down 8 pounds, I think I mentioned last week, and if I lot 7 or 8 more, I'd be delighted.

But all I'm thinking about now is breathing in this air and getting out in this sun and pushing myself up the hills on my bike.

Getting in the shower now, lazy morning and a full heart.

Ordered a body composition scale and it arrived yesterday. This one is cool because if you have multiple users set up on it - it automatically registers which user you are - based on your weight. So all you do is stand on it and it starts it's thing. Yay!

It figures body fat %, water %, muscle %, and bone mass (not density)... and I'm fairly certain I heard a low whistle when it got through computing the fat %.

BUT - this gives me 4 more numbers I can track - in order to find something good that's happened at least every 2 weeks through this journey and since I'm a stats whore - this works very well for me.

As of this morning - 15 pounds in a little over a month. Yay!

Joined the YWCA this morning so I can keep swimming all year long!

I'm going to buy a juicer this afternoon. I think that is the only way I'm going to incorporate more veggies into my diet. My eating habits are better, but not what they should be yet.

I noticed yesterday at breakfast that when I screw up is when I'm emotional, and I'm bound to be pretty emotional at least for a while. So, my plan is when I'm sad, go work out. When I'm lonely, go work out. Replace emotional eating with emotional swimming, or elliptical walking, or whatever.

I need to go deep within myself and fix some things. I'm hoping a lot of time alone at the gym will help me start to look inside and figure out what it is that causes me to put myself down, to care more about other people's opinions than my own, to put things off and to make bad choices, food and otherwise.

This is going to be a long journey.

Really, really, really smart.

So the pounds are just barely trickling off, but I'm happy with the decreasing belly measurement....a total of 2 inches so far.

I plugged in to shoot for losing 1.5 pounds per week, but I'm only managing 1 per week. :( I'm doing pushups everyday (along with some other calisthenics), and those may be adding just enough muscle mass to slow down the appearance of weight loss.

Regardless of what it is, my primary goal is trimming down my gut; and it seems I'm definitely heading in the right direction!

I'm still loving My Fitness Pal. Thanks again to those who suggested here!

We just got back yesterday from a fabulous 5 days in Key Largo...and my policy is, on vacation, that I eat whatever I feel like eating, drink whatever I feel like drinking, and move as much or as little as I feel like.

I had several strawberry daiquiris, a giant coke float, the yummiest Spanish omelet for breakfast (twice!) that I've ever eaten, a gigantic "knife and fork" cheeseburger that was as big as my head (and that I could only manage half of), mango sorbet, the most delicious chicken tostada ever....and more.

I gained 1 pound....and have the best tan I've ever had in my life.

I feel good...and I'll be back at Curves Monday morning. :)

Latley I have been dealing with an cranky left knee, for the last fue days it has been better and not poping and paining me as much.So I have been working out on the stuff I have on the paito snd sofar things have been ok even tho I still have a slight pop crunch going on im being careful. The pounds are starting to slowly come off as im trying to stay somewhere around 20 to thirty carbs a day but mostly I can do less than 20.Salads have become my main sorse of meals witht he exception of breakfast,I have to eat a good one or this wont work.I have really watched the night eating that got out of hand by keeping large posty notes in he kitchen to reinforce my mind when I get a drink of water in the middle of the night cause im half awake when I do the night eating.Late this afternoon I got really bord,I ended up seting up the aglity corse I have worked my older fur kid on so we had a refresher corse on the easy parts with the youngest fur kid following checking the stuff out to see if it is friend or foe. That still wasnt enough cause I had the aintsyness to be on the move some how ....so I did another round of working out doing diffrent exersises working a good sweat up in the process.

scale after the 10 days here on assignment.
Too much stress and too many choices.....
Tomorrow, I owrk from the hotel room but I will
take the time to go to the exercise room and do some
work......

Still trucking over here... now down 18.5 pounds since May 7th. Eating fresh food most of the time. Heavy in veggies and fruit. Eating several times a day for about 200 to 300 calories and then working out to burn about 200 calories (30 minutes a day on the bike)... going well so far!

This week I start focusing on calcium intake. I have sodium down to great levels unless we go out to eat dinner - and my other vitamins are pretty fantastic due to fresh fruits and veggies - so now I tackle the calcium hurdle. I've even bought milk. I don't like milk, but man is it a good source of calcium and vitamin D so yeah - I will deal with 4 - 8 ounces a day as needed.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!
