Butch Femme Planet - Do you have a crush on anyone here at The Planet?

<---is wondering if perhaps Katniss has been in charge of naming animals in her shelter, as I saw a dog by the name of "Wolfie Kieran" and wondered if that was her way of honoring some of the crush thread participants LOL

We actually had over 1,000 cats adopted last year. Sadly we took in more than that so we are always a bit full. The shelter is cage free with large rooms separating the cats in to manageable groups. I have volunteered at a lot of shelters in my time but when this one says no-kill they mean it. One of the cats has been there about 6 years (she is a gorgeous Persian but mean as a snake.) They also have a separate facility for FIV+ cats which are difficult to home. I started out huffy because we actually have had a problem with *other* shelters dropping off FIV+ cats in the dead of night. They know we will take them and then they can still claim to be no-kill. It isn't cheap to house an FIV+ cat so other shelters are keen to move them elsewhere.

Ok, off my soapbox :soapbox: and sooooorry Wolfy for the itty bitty derail but Macele started it! :slapfight: (<---blatant attempt to shift blame and also not huffy at all but I have always wanted to use this little emoticon and this is the closest chance I have gotten)

so if you bring me a few animals, ... do we get to ride in the car like that? lol

Dixie-- Sadly the shelter will no longer allow me to name the animals after I (innocently) named a 3 legged labrador "Eileen." In my defense an "all 80's" rock station was on the radio and that song was on when she was brought to the shelter. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it.) :sunglass: The identical twin kitties I named "Polly" and "Esther" are another matter entirely.

macele-- If "huffy" gets you hot and bothered then allow me to PM you my mother's cell phone number. She can take "huffy" to a whole new level and follow it with :mad: :argue: :badmood::angry: :annoyed: and just when you thought she was done she will :deadhorse: until you want to :beerfunnel: If this works for you let me know. Bitter old hypocritical women need love too (probably more than the rest of us.)

Ciaran-- You are correct w/r/t "Wolfie" at the shelter. He is kind, loving and loyal....a dream crush if there ever was one. Look at his little face...

That final comment is very telling - there's already a strong resemblance between this dog and me. More so, we clearly share the same fashion sense .... in fact, I think I might have that same leotard, although I think mine might be a slightly darker shade of purple.

Also, the pose and posture is similar to one of mine in my leopard skin g-skin.

If there has ever been a dog equivalent to me, it IS this dog here.
