Sorry for my absence latey..duty calls...smiles Grabbin a big cup of coffee and found one of those cookies...mmmm...and I am on my way. My Brother In Law passed away yesterday unexpectantly. So can I ask for a few thoughts and prayers be put out for my poor sweet sister and her kids and grandkids and great grandson. Our entire family is in shock. But I am off to see where I can help. Appriciate any thoughts, prayers or candles sent there way to heal. Dinner's almost ready...
Baked chicken, yams with just a touch of brown sugar, fresh corn on the cob and a little lightly steamed broccoli. Maybe some scratch biscuits? No clue on dessert....although there is a gallon of rocky road ice cream in the freezer....(shame on me, but today was one of those days :giggle: ) Anybody hungry? :chef: :bringcoffee: got a fresh pot on if anyone needs a caffeine top up... :) |

Oh my, Scoote! Rhubarb is one of the most delish foods of the gods. It is the first thing we can harvest in the garden, so as a cook, i celebrate spring with the feast of rhubarb. It grows in stalks, with huge leaves. The stalks are reddish, with a bit of green on them. You pick them when they are red mostly. Cut into chunks, and bake into a pie, just like you would apple. FYI, never ever add chocolate to rhubarb! And this is a sidenote from a chocoholic. i can add chocolate to most everything *grin* Now on to breakfast: Easy morning for me, as i have to head out the door shortly, so i will set a few things out, and i am sure Jo or Zimmy or maybe Mrs Strutt will add the finishing touches. Oh how i miss Musicman's offerings. Breakfast today is: Vanilla yogurt with sliced strawberries, homemade chocolate chip muffins, apple juice, nicely aged old cheddar cheese chunks and a last little treat while it's still fresh, some rhubarb pie. Coffee in the mega carafe this morning - this gal is taking two servings for herself LOL (it's that kind of a start) Becca - you stopped by after dinner last night to say Damon had his first day of work, but well, how did it go? Frwyja...thanks for the lesson...my honey loves it and promises to make one so i can try it! for breakfast--not that ur stuff isnt good Ms Freyja--but im gonna add some good ol' sausage gravy with biscuits,some eggs,crispy hasshbrowns,breakfast ham,and someone told me about some good cuban coffe so i'll put a pot of that on to go with the reg and decaf---and of course tea with soy milk for the Zimmster hope everyone has a good day...happy hump day!! |

Hope everyone slept well. I'm gonna' grab a litte piece of that leftover rhubarb pie for my mid-morning snack....and a plate of hashbrowns and ham for right now. I'm hungry...and wishing I could go back to bed, but have a (maybe) busy day today. I've got a few "must do" items for work, and may or may not have a prospective buyer showing up at some point to be determined (you're hearing the ticked offness, aren't you?)....we'll see, but it means I have to clean and tidy as if she's coming just in case. Probably time for me to hop in the :bath: and get moving...sigh.... I'm with you you Freyja...missing our Musicman and hoping he's not working too too hard. :lips: baby... :stillheart: |
