I really like going to auctions. We had one up the road today. I went with my friend Jean who funded me some money to get my kid stuff for her kindergarten classroom. My entire backseat of my car is filled with kids books! And a giant multi colored wall clock. And a really fun projector type thing, that comes with a set of discs that pitch shadows and pictures on the wall. I got her some costumes, for her drama play. Including a whole box of kid size hard hats...what a find for the little boys!
for me, Jean bought me this wooden lazy susan, from Africa, with a man atop a water buffalo in the center of it! So unusual! For $1`~~~!!! And a dart board, some candle sticks and misc all in one box for another buck!
I was heart sick, tho, to see their dining room set go for only $200. It was the exact set I once owned, but had a bigger hutch. I paid $1000 for it used 20 years ago. Oh well, I hope someone got it that will love it.
oh...my newfie girl went with me too. She laid on the grass next to me while I sat on my lawn chair. Not once did she move. People came up to me afterwards and petted her and commented about what a good girl she was. I had to walk her home since my car was filled. Jean drove the car home. I fed Story and she is now passed out and snoring HARD. What a great day she had too. She LOVED socializing with everyone.
Oh...Jean bought a shotgun and a samarai sword. I didnt know she bid on it and the auctioneer looked at me and asked me my number so he could add $85 to my bill...I was petrified because I certainly didnt have that money! I was holding jean's card. I thought somehow I had accidentally bid on it...lol....the whole place laughed when they saw me try to figure it out...how wonderful the crowd was!
I had a WONDERFUL day! I really really like auctions!
