GO CHEESEHEADS!!! What a nailbiting game :| Love these kinds :)
|
Let's Go New York :)
|
i hope gb beats the giants....
i think that bad fumble may have cost them the game though |
need a Giants win...
|
Packers down 10? Oh man. Let's go cheeseheads!
|
Well I do hope the 49ers knock the snot outta Eli and the Giants
As for The Texans/Ravens game. The Ravens didnt impress me one bit. If it wasnt for those two turnovers (one being right there on the goaline) that resulted in Tds they would have ended up with just 2 FGs. If they plan on even being in the same league with the Patriots they better come up with a whole different game plan. |
YAY!
WTG Ravens & Giants!!! Woot! Woot!!
|
How about that Giant win!!
I can't wait for Giants/49 ers.. One of these is going all the way to the Superbowl for the win! |
Damn I wish I had bet the Giants and taken the odds on that Packers - Giants game. I think it was like 13-1. Clearly they are not getting the respect they deserve. I wonder what the odds will be for the 49ers - Giants game.
|
Sunday Jan. 22 has the Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots with Tom Brady’s boys a prohibitive (-9) favorite with an over/under of 50. Sportsbookshave the Patriots (-327) on the moneyline.
The nightcap has the New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers. The Niners are (-3) point favorites with a total of 43.5. San Francisco is now up to (-143) on the moneyline. In both cases, Vegas sharps jumped on the favorites at New England opened up laying just 6.5, San Francisco as low at just a one-point favorite, though most Vegas and offshore sportsbooks had them at (-2) to start out the betting. |

I have never bet against the Pats in my whole life. Even when I worked in Boston and played the pool at work, back in the '90s when the Pats couldn't win a game in my back yard with my grandma as quarterback, i wouldn't bet against them. Needless to say that little quirk of mine would make winning each week in the season pool a bit tricky. Now when it would be an asset to always pic the pats with my heart and the rest of the card with my head I don't have the opportunity to play where i live. At least not a friendly pool with friends and coworkers. |
No Monday night football.. Season will be over soon . :-(
|
I have a feeling that it will be a Giants vs Pats Super Bowl.
Let's go Giants! Zimmeh Quote:

sadly the home town boys lost.
we have Aaron Rodgers from the packers that im sure will be home and spotted out in about. we also have Jeff Maehl from the Texans that will also be seen wondering about and helping out in the community. Go Pats!:praying: |
NOPE NOT NO MORE kicks at the dirt and stumps around

I seem to have misplaced my decoder ring :jester: But, it appears betting on my Patriots this week would not be a potentially lucrative thing. Yes? |
That basically boils down to the Patriots are favored by 9 points and the Niners by 3. A negative number means thats the team that is favored.
|
Yeah I prefer a Pats 49ers match up anything but Eli...uugghh.
I have been a Pats fan (I grew up in NH) since I watched my first football game on a black and white TV sitting on my Fathers lap (whew showing my age). I stuck with them all through the times they stunk. Through Plunkett, Eason, Grogan, Flutie, Bledsoe and Brady. Of course a few QBs that should be forgotten like Matt Cavanaugh, Hugh Millen and Marc Wilson. I still have a Super Bowl XX brass key chain I use daily from Jan 26, 1986. Granted its a bit beat up from opening beer bottles back in the day! I feel after all those years of sticking with them I deserve a few good years ;) Go Pats! Quote:

Ohhhh ok, I got it. So, I think the Pats will make mince meant out of the Ravens so I am good there. My windfall comes betting on the Giants. But, do I dare? |
Well the thing is...to get a little more in depth.. IF you think they game between the Ravens and Patriots will be closer then 9 points apart you would bet on the Ravens. For example if the end score was Pats 37 Ravens 33 and you bet on the Ravens you would win. Thats IF you are betting the line not just a straight win/lose bet. The point spread can change daily sometimes many times daily depending on a lot of factors. Like lets say Ray Rice of the Ravens gets hurt in practice this week and cant play, then the Patriots -9 would increase to lets say -14 or something. I wish I lived in Vegas heck you can bet on who wins the coin toss or whos scores the first points...just all kinds of fun stuff thats if you like the gamble.

I’m scratching my head, trying to figure out what the hype surrounding Tim Tebow is all about. Is it because he’s religious and prays?
Check out the following stats: Tim Tebow stats: quarterback rating 72.9, total passing yards 2011 season: 1729. They say he is a duel threat. He rushed for a total of 660 this season. So, total yardage is 2389. 47% Completion rating. His worst completion rating was 27%.He had a quarterback rating of 20 against KC. With these stats he is the great American hope? He’s been in the pros for a couple of years and he’s 24. Let’s compare him with one of his peers: Most people don’t even know Mathew Stafford by name. He’s Detroit’s QB. His QB rating is 97.2, total passing yards for the 2011 season: 5038 (twice as much as Tebow), 63.5% completion rating. His worst completion rating was 59%. High QB rating of 137. He’s been in the pros for 3 years and he’s only 23. Right now, a year younger than Tebow with the same amount of experience, his stats are comparable with great quarterbacks like Brady or Rogers. So, I’m skeptical when people talk about how great he’s going to be in a few years. Even if Denver designs a college type offense, the guy is not great at passing the ball. I can understand if Tebow had the passing talents of a Stafford and the rushing talents of Michael Vick or Vince Young but he doesn’t. Maybe they think he has a direct line to God. *Being sarcastic* |
Well yes Stafford had a great year and I agree with your point. But people seem to forget about Cam Newton too. He broke some records this year including Steve Grogans record for most rushing TDs by a QB in a season which was 12 and stood for 35 years. Its funny Cam Newton didnt even know who Steve Grogan was when asked! lol I remember watching Grogan when I was younger..I DO know who he is ;)

i want to be shocked about the packers loss......but...i saw it coming....im still having a hard time figuring out who i want to win lol
|
NY vs San Francisco.... GO 49ers GO
Baltimore vs New England .... (no preferences) SuperBowl NE vs SF and my prediction... SF lol, I might be very wrong and I know it! |
I think the Ravens Defense are gonna put some heat on the Brady bunch!!

btw, that's what happened in the 2010 playoff game between Baltimore and New England. Brady was sacked twice with one resulting in a fumble and threw 3 interceptions. The wildcard Ravens beat the odds favored Patriots 33-14. I think that was the Patriots first playoff loss in Gillette Stadium. 2 years later...same stadium, same teams, same head coaches, same quarterbacks. I realize that this doesn't mean the same outcome but it does give me comfort knowing we weren't expected to win back then but did. Here's to hoping for an injury free game on Sunday. GO RAVENS!!! |
hahahahaha |

I think the odds are a little better for Baltimore now I think the Pats would have to win by 7.5 instead of 9, which would mean by a touchdown and a field goal or a safety. And I think it's going to be a close game. So maybe if you have the stomach for it, you could put some money on Baltimore. I could never do it. I never have done it. Could never bet against the Pats. Even though my father always told me don't bet with your heart, when it comes to money only your family matters. Good advice. Although I always figured better advice is don't bet what you aren't prepared to lose But that's just me. And I'm a chicken shit when it comes to gambling. |

The thing is we had some pretty okay quarterbacks but never had a whole team before 2001. Plunket did fine with Oakland, 2 superbowl rings. And Bledsoe, well, I am not a hater, I think he had a great arm, but his heart was two sizes too small. |

But I sincerely hope not. Still I think it's going to be a great game either way. And if it came to it, I would rather lose to Baltimore and its great defense than to the Giants in the Super Bowl. I would rather lose to the 49ers as well. But that's just a personal preference. :| Hopefully the Pats will not lose. And my favorite thing of all would be to to have the Pats give the Giants a good beat down for the Super Bowl win. |
I can't say what the hell is going to happen after the upsets last weekend! I'm so disappointed in the Saints and Packers; Saints just made to many mistakes; Not really sure what happened in Green Bay.
Anyway, I think I'd like to see Baltimore and San Francisco battle it out in the Superbowl. In that race, I'd have to pick Baltimore. Baltimore hasn't been to the Superbowl since 2001, and the 49ers haven't been since 1995; Two teams pretty hungry for it. Of the two, I'd pick Baltimore. But with the way the playoffs have gone, who KNOWS what will happen! Glynn |
Football. I just love the game. And I love going to Pup and Oilers. I just found a recipe for these baked hushpuppies. :D
|
Go Pats!!! That's all I can say!! :rainbowAfro:
