It's been over half a week since I last posted to this thread. And, guess what? Yes, despite the long period of time that has passed, I am still single. That's a further half a week of being left on the shelf and, more importantly, half a week closer to when I finally throw in the towel and claim spinsterhood as my one true vocation.

I've been doing a lot of reflecting in recent days. I now know that there are a number of reasons why I've been left on the shelf - these range from my bad breathe to my hunchback-like posture. However, more so, I think that the main reason is my grumpy demeanour.

Therefore, I've decided that I'm going to be smiley, pleasant, kind and considerate for the remainder of 2013 - especially in this thread. So here goes ......

- To those of you who have found love. I am not jealous or bitter. Rather, I think it is amazing. Your journey is truly inspirational and I wish you the best in your happiness. :rrose::rrose::rrose::rrose::rrose:

- To those of you who haven't found love. You are so terrific that love is just around the corner. In fact, someone is probably already in love with you and you don't know it. :flowers::flowers:

- To everyone who posts in this thread. You are the people that make this world great. You rock my world. I love everyone of you.:bowdown:

- Hugs and kisses to all of you and I really hope you have a truly fantastic week. :gimmehug::gimmehug:

Ok - it was much harder work and more stressful to post in a nice way than I thought it would be. I'm feeling very faint now and need to lie down

Fortunately, I get across the pond often. It doesn't take long to get married so, if you're up for it, let me know. I really do want to give my mum the opportunity to wear her wedding hat one last time.

I'm in NYC as from 18th May (or May 18th as you folk on the wrong side of the pond say). I have an engagement that night and will be jet lagged. However, on Sunday 19th, I've got a 30 min slot in the early evening. It would be an unforgettable ceremony and, if the pastor gets through it quickly, it would give me up to 10 minutes to consummate the marriage. Admittedly, I can rarely last that long these days due to my bad back but I'll give it a try.

*swoon* You are soooo very romantic! Ten whole minutes for intimacy? How could a girl say no to that? *booking a plane trip* Tell Mum to dust off her bonnet!

This is a momentous moment. After a few promising opportunities which turned out to be fruitless, this is the one time that I see my wedding finally in sight. In fact, it's the first wedding to have been agreed as a result of this thread !!

Alas, the thousands of miles that separate us geographically mean that I cannot be there to propose in person and give you a multi-thousand $ ring. So instead, I've prepared the following personalised note as my official proposal and declaration of my genuine love for you.

In fact, I've been working on it for some days now just to get it 100% right. When it comes to love, I don't settle for anything less than perfection:

Oh, not many at all. Maybe 6 or 7. Definitely, less than 10 anyway. And none of them meant the same as you do to me.

They all got cold feet before the service but it was always their problem - not mine. One of them got nervous once she found out about my sheep fetish, another decided to call it off after I innocently suggested she could dress up as Sue Ellen for me (I always wanted to act out a J.R. / Sue Ellen tryst in the bedroom). Always small things like that which caused them to over-react and call it off.

We have something really, really special here. I love you Mospie, really I do - your name is etched for eternity in my heart.

More so, I don't want to disappoint my mum - and you wouldn't want to either.

"uh," she catches breath, "This would be a yes." Wipes brow and sits down anywhere and quickly. "Cheeks, must be red, and i feel a tad overheated."

Now hold on just a minute there! I recall you got cold feet when you found out my hometown-specifically, my hometown baseball team (I use the term loosely). A trade that occurred over twenty years before I was even born managed to tank our nuptials. Talk about overreaction.

Sweetums ... its MoPSie ... please make sure the engraver gets it spelled correctly... and I find myself intrigued by this sheep idea... are they well trained? * thinking sheep might make a cute addition to the ceremony* I guess I can forgive your earlier dalliances since we are soulmates ... but about you mum .... does she understand I will be number one in your heart?

Katniss 05-06-2013 04:31 PM

Saunters into the thread....looks at Ciaran, looks at Mopsie, looks at Gráinne.

Senses building tension......flops back on a beanbag while grabbing Milkduds and a diet coke. Passes out snacks to the rest of the thread. Carry on, pretend we aren't even here.

Katniss~~(wondering if we can start a bookie/betting thread on odds of Ciaran actually making it to the altar?)

WolfyOne 05-06-2013 04:43 PM

Pulling up a beanbag next to Katniss as I also watch, I mean wait to see what will happen next...grabbing the nachos and a bottle of water.
