Welcome all newbies.

RumorHasIt 11-22-2015 06:52 PM

Greetings From Nebraska!

Okay. Here is a little *list* introduction. If I wait to pen the "appropriate or thorough", I'll keep putting it off and something will come up and I'll wander away and it will never get accomplished.
PLEASE, if you want to know something about me don't hesitate to ask.

Have joined this group to participate in a 'community' of people who, as a rule, are not easily found in Nebraska.
Am not relationship hunting ((or trolling in general))
* I need a ' NOT A TROLL' sign, lol

Being a "Loner" / Introvert who sometimes gets lonely, I love the online world for all it's diversity and offerings of forums and media sources. But not being a 'straight' woman ( of my age, lol ) it can feel a little like a part of 'tribe' is missing. So , ( kinda on a whim, I'll admit ) I looked for a group here. I also joined a facebook group but there doesn't seem to be much activity there.

It's been my experience FB and Twitter has pretty much killed the forums....
( remember. I'm Old. I come from the days of YAHOO GROUPS, lol ) but it would be nice to have a place to come online and 'chit chat' but not be bombarded with the hatred of FB in general.

( I'm pretty overwhelmed with the ugliness right now )

So: For the sake of brevity, here's a list of Grace.
smile emoticon

Devoted Mother ( sorry, it really is a big one for me and comes first )
Bibliophile
Dog Lovin' ( cat can't havin' cause the dog) :(
Bird Watchin' ( And feedin')
Poetry Writin'
Mixed Media Makin'
Flower Gardenin'
Tatted Up
Retired Social Worker
NPR Listenin'
Vegetarian ( No meat Eatin' )
Liberal Leanin'
Unitarian Universalist ( IF I have to pick one, I guess that's it )

This list could go on into infinity..( I haven't even listed my favorite desserts yet )
but I am gonna just hit POST and go get something delicious to eat and 'click' my way around the site trying to get to know some of you!

BRB. :)

giggleluver 11-22-2015 06:55 PM

Okay, so I am not really new, but I havent spent much time on here since I joined. I am in Spokane and looking to connect with some interesting souls on this side of the world :):glasses:

nycfem 11-22-2015 08:28 PM

Welcome, seems like we have a lot in common: introvert, bibliophile, poetry writin', mixed media makin', social worker, love tats, NPR Listenin', and Vegetarian. Look forward to your posts!

Thank you so much for the welcome!
I'll be honest, navigating takes some getting used to!!

Appreciate the welcome!

RumorHasIt 11-23-2015 06:23 AM

Thank you!!!
Am trying to figure it all out. :)

RumorHasIt 11-23-2015 06:30 AM

Still have 26 Posts to Go!

Good morning !

Spent some time clicking through some of the threads and reading some very interesting posts!
Realized I can't reply to any of them until I reach 30 posts, and evidently, this thread is the only place I can do that?
I tried to send out a 'good morning' post in the newbie section, but it seems the intro is the only place it works.

Am I right? Cause if there's a different place I could/should be posting ( in order to get to know people) I reallly don't want to fill up the 'introduction' section with chit chat and have folks shake their heads at me and mutter under their breath.." THESE NEWBIES, JEESH"" lol !

Forums in general aren't always the easiest places to navigate and after years of FB ( and yahoo groups before that ) I am a little 'one track minded' with format.

Anyway, GOOD MORNING !

Welcome!

You should be able to post anywhere, but my understanding is that you cannot start a thread until you have posted 30x...nycfem could you clarify?

RumorHasIt 11-23-2015 11:48 AM

YOU'RE right,,,and I should have come back and clarified that I finally figured that out.
Just took me a bit to that out, lol

Thank you for the welcome!!

Official first hello...

Hello all! Thought I would make a quick post here to introduce myself - I'm Domonic. I look forward to getting to know others and participating in the forums.

MsTinkerbelly 11-23-2015 08:48 PM

Welcome (f)

jewelofnj 11-30-2015 01:38 PM

Hello NEWBIE Jewel here!
After reading so many forums and wanting to post one of my own threads I found this thread to introduce myself. I am a single heterosexual Femme. My friend is trans FTM and I also dated an FTM in transition. I want to be supportive and enjoy learning more. I would also like to contribute my experiences in hopes that they are helpful to someone.

Oh.

So you are a hetrosexual woman, on a queer website, hoping to give us the benefits of your experience?

Ummmm, ok.

jewelofnj 11-30-2015 08:06 PM

I hope my relationship with someone who has come out trans FTM and dating a transitioned FTM can be supportive to others in the same situations.

I don't mean to be argumentative, but we have plenty of queer folks here who can help us with this experience. Unless you are a queer woman who has had your lesbian lover transition into a man, you cannot possibly know how we feel.

jewelofnj 12-01-2015 01:32 PM

Although I may call myself heterosexual I went through the transition with my former partner so, yes I am queer. Nothing wrong with that nor being hetero. I have been looking for a place to be a part of and hope to learn from all of you and share what "little" you may think I know.

You aren't being argumentative simply protective and I totally understand and respect your doubt in why I am here. I hope we can be friends and enjoy
time on this site.

Have a day filled with joy!

MsTinkerbelly, last I heard women who date FTMs are allowed on this site. Welcomed on this site. I don't remember reading anywhere that the expectation is that people at BFP who date FTMs had to have been with said FTM prior to their transition. Oh, AND that said FTM had to have identified as lesbian PRIOR to their transition. You know that a number of FTMs never identified as "lesbians". Just like many of our butch and femme friends here don't, and never have, identified "lesbians", even though they have loved female bodied people.

People don't need to PROVE that they belong here by talking about their history of sexual partners, either.

I see that you were cordial in the end (I think you were being genuine), but I must admit, I am surprised at you, MsTinkerbelly! :sunglass:

When did you become a moderator?

I am really offended by this Dapper, really offended. How dare you chastise me, or question my motives? HOW FUCKING DARE YOU!!!!!!!

Wow.

I was not trying to be a moderator. You were suggesting to her that she did not belong here, and I am suggesting that you are incorrect.

With your logic, anyone who dates ME or any FTM, who hasn't dated a "lesbian" in the past doesn't belong here. Actually, you were suggesting the "rules" are even narrower than that. You were suggesting that the people who belong here that date FTMs have to have dated a lesbian who transitioned to FTM. That is news to me.

Am I incorrect? Is that not what you said? I responded to quotes.

I do not owe you or anyone other than jewel an explanation, and she and I are good. Now, if you go back to minding your own business, we will be just fine.

jewelofnj 12-07-2015 09:23 PM

Actually I am out of here.

That would be a real shame jewel.

I just sent you an apology for misreading your post and coming across so unfriendly.

Please give us (me) another chance (f)

jewelofnj 12-07-2015 09:29 PM

You owe Dapper an apology not me. He made a valid point and you totally PMS'd all over him. See my message back.

Be kind to people.

Actually I am not going to apologize to Dapper...he is not a moderator, and should have reported me, not confronted me.

I deserved to be reported; even though I misread your post, I showed my ass and was acting as a moderator/protector of the site. That is not my role, and for that I am sorry to the mods, admin and you.

Although I'm sure Dapper meant well, it did not sit well with me as he is not my spouse, my parent or even a friend.
