Hey Diva...so, how did your sewing party for the ladies go? I have to say I was pretty entertained by the last few posts here... Were there any sewing needle casualties by drunken seamstresses?! ; ) Were there any sewing party crashers?!

When I was in middle school we HAD to take home economics and part of it was a few weeks of sewing. Well, I had NO interest in anything like that. I spent a lot of those few weeks doing some major socializing. Our final project was to have a completed apron that we sewed. :knit: Sooooo...I had to think fast and went straight to the one who I knew would not let me down...that's right...my sweet Grandma. She sewed the entire apron for me. I was relieved! Well, my home ec teacher was more aware than I realized...she wondered how this perfect apron got done so quickly??!! The A work that my grandma did, only got me a C on my apron project.

Anyway, thumbs up to the ladies that can use that machine and needle...

give me some cards, beer, and a grill with my bros and I am good to go. :beerbros:

There was never a single needle or thread in sight. "Sewing Circle" was code for "Let's Sit Around and Have Cocktails and Get Silly." That's what I've been calling "Game Night" in recent past. But that includes the stinky boys and butches.
yeah...we need to do that again soon...

GAAAAAAAAAAAAWD. My mums (godblessher) was FOREVER trying to teach me how to sew. I even have my grandmother's (or great-grandmother's) cast iron Singer. Completely refurbished. It makes a enchanting humming noise when I make it work. Unfortunately, I usually would rather pluck myself bald-headed than sew.

Jason, sadly, we had to cancel.....so there were no crashers, either! But we WILL reschedule the extravaganza....SOON!

You should be ashamed, having Your Grandmother make that apron! ;) I'm surprised You didn't have to make it in the classroom! When I was in HomeEc, we couldn't take our projects out of the classroom.......she KNEW! :D

And I think it would be fun ANYway for You non~stitchers to come on and just sit and chat.....

I have a project that I MUST finish before Erin Parker gets here in July!:bouquet:

Arwen 04-14-2010 09:43 AM

I think a fun thing would be to plan a Femme party at location X and tell EVERYONE then move the party to someplace else and leave video cameras up to record the fun when the crashers find us missing.

:batman:(This sentence is in the running for the Guiness Book Of World Records as longest meaningless stringing together of words.):batman:

Well, umm you see Diva we really weren't 'suppose' to take our projects home either. :| Everything was suppose to be done during class time. So, well, I kind of snuck it home because it wasn't even remotely close to being done or looking like any form of an apron.

I wonder what the ratio of boys to girls will be in "Apron Fakers" hell??!! ; )

What did it look like?? Hmmm...well, I do know that if you asked my mom she probably STILL has it somewhere and could show it to you. It became one of those funny family stories...haha. I think probably what was the funniest about it is that my grandma sewed up this magnificent apron. At the age of 12, I was thinking I had really gotten away with something and was sure to pull in an A with good 'ol grandma's sewing skills. I remember the teacher saying "this sure is a nice apron for someone who did so much talking"??? as she looked directly into my eyes... :innocent:

Oh...I do remember that it was a very bright yellow color. I am sure glad that my middle school home ec story was sooooo entertaining for you ladies! :-P LOL.

Having been a middle school teacher for *&#%$ years, we just KNOW. <smile> She clearly had YOUR number.

We are all on Romeo's sh!t list for not bringing him leftovers. I told him that it was Matt's! That means there wouldn't be leftovers! :raspberry: But it was a great group. I really got a kick out of watching Oiler and KC bond.

I can totally verify that Diva did not sound like Diva when I talked to her earlier this week.

I thought maybe it was Patrick Swayze in his "To Wong Fu" role...

Kinda sexy, really.

Diva 04-18-2010 07:39 PM

:|

I sorta thought I sounded like Harvey Fierstein......on a good day. But thank You.....I'll take Patrick Swayze.....:D

Yeah, I'd take Patrick over Harvey for sex, but Harvey for anything else. He's funny!

And alive...which makes him a total W over Patrick.

Agreed! Fun times and good people!

Yes, KC and I bonded,,I do believe that young person has a lot ahead of him,,and I'm thinking we have something on the horizon that he can help us out with! I'll be in touch with him soon for him to meet my sweetheart!

We certainly did miss my sweet Pup, the lovely Diva and Romeo (along with the rest of the Austinites!). Let's definately do it again soon!

KC is the best thing from that relationship I had with his mother. Honestly, the best. I taught him how to drive too.:giggle:

Just wanted to throw that out there and apologize now before it got...well you know.

He just went to the store to get me ice cream. I'm keeping him.:kungfu:
