Naw, the :| thread is for general daily neurosis. These topic specific bouts of oddness go to the most appropriate thread. :cheesy:

Back to regularly scheduled recommendations folks, my list is getting whittled down and I need new ideas!

I liked Sens8; my current binge is Fringe, and with 5 seasons, it will keep me entertained for a few weeks.

Good picks both!

Regrettably I just finished Sense8 and have already watched Fringe, excellent by the way, enjoy. :movieguy:

A while back somebody got me hooked on "The Americans", now I'm out of that and need some more cold war fix. "The Assets" is doing a nice job. :movieguy:

I recently watched Chuck and Nikita... both good.

I really want to watch the Daredevil one when I have time next... :D

I miss The Americans. I just love the intrigue laced in with the marriage drama. I saw one episode of The Assets but didn't love it . Should I try harder?

The Assets does not have the kind of relationship-based drama that was so integral to The Americans at all. There is one marriage that is central to the plot in a different way and isn't apparent until further in. It should be noted that this is a depiction of real life events, not straight fiction. There are other relationships more emphasized in this one, spy/handler for instance.

I was alive and very aware of cold war espionage at the time so for me it's a lot of memories of my twenties, I remember these events. The pre-tech period and tradecraft is refreshing now that everything is so tech. It's close to a documentary and in fact the last episode is a recap of the real events and newscasts with the real life people who were portrayed. (docudrama?)

This was a great bonus for me but if you're looking for a fictional drama it might not be the fit you're looking for. If you enjoy espionage for it's own sake, I would try another episode or two before giving it a toss, it draws you in on that level.

Best binge-worthy t.v. shows, please. My tastes are eclectic but I am running out of things to watch. Help would be appreciated! Also perusing this thread. I might try sense8.

Sense8 was strange but I hung in there until the end. Don't know if I will watch again if there is season two.

Did you watch Bloodline? Really great series.

Gillian Anderson as a UK police inspector in The Fall? Quite good.

Also Peaky Blinders, two seasons. Very good.

If you have HBO GO, Game of Thrones. LOVE IT! Also on Amazon Prime but you would have to pay and it gets pricey.

We just finished season 3 of The Vikings. On Amazon Prime. Loved it! Eagerly awaiting season 4 but it won't be on History channel until 2016. I just watched the trailer for season 4 last night. They previewed it at ComicCon. Ragnar! Waiting for you!

Not a series but one of my all-time favorite concert movies: The Last Waltz. About The Band's last concert. On Netflix. Just terrific.

Will think about other good ones I have not listed before.

:)

Thanks for the reply and the ideas! You've given me some good ideas. I do have HBO and Game of Thrones is an all time favorite. I will let you know what I decide to watch.

I ended up going with Bloodline. I've watched two episodes and feel pretty into it. I tried Sense8 but after two and a half episodes I felt like the plot line was still really garbled, and not binge worthy. I may go back at some point but not right now.

Thanks for all the help, Anya!

And I've watched in movies--

The Skeleton twins
Comet

I have bloodline-- lined up to watch.

Probably a little bit late to the party, but recently got into Suits. Great show!

Also saw that someone recommended Wentworth, totally second that!

I just saw the trailer for a new series coming on Netflix on August 28th called Narco. It's about the cocaine trafficking of the late '70's and early 80's.

It looks pretty good.

Glad you have some new shows to watch CCB:)
