Luckily, since our corner of the world is under a fire watch due to massive years of no regular cycles of rain (like it used to be), fireworks are being snuffed out of existence because nobody in their right mind has the energy or massive wealth holdings at a local bank to put up any relief efforts, should a fire break out in our area. :tinfoil:


In other “tinfoil hat” news: another person — with too much time and money on their hands, and apparently not enough attention I would guess— seized Madison Square Garden to have their wedding with more guests than even necessary. And,,,, apparently Moscow Mitch has been in the hospital for a few weeks and had enough senatorial time on his hands to do some hefty stock trading in his hospital crib.


I guess what’s on my mind is how sad it is that citizens in our country bought into the bald faced lies of the super rich as the only version of how to get rich while scheming their fantastical schemes of (…).

It’s nearly impossible these days to find any morsel of redemption in the upper crust of American society. We don’t need a hero (Tina turner, Mad Max of Thunderdome). We need a surgeon to excise cancer from our country. :|

Last week, the US supreme court ruled that Idaho and West Virginia can continue enforcing their bans on transgender athletes playing on girls’ and women's teams in schools. It’s the latest development in the political and legal attack on trans people – and especially trans youth – that has surged in recent years. On the heels of that decision, Kai Wright talks with Guardian reporter Sam Levin, who has been covering the debate over trans athletes in California and speaking with students and their families, and Chase Strangio, co-director of the ACLU's LGBTQ & HIV Project, who is the first out trans person to argue in front of the US supreme court. They walk through the legal and political strategies animating the anti-trans movement, and discuss why this most recent decision could open the door to the erosion of civil liberties for everyone.

President Trump mentioned my county in his speech last night in reference to voter fraud. As if….

He attacked Michigan voters in 2020 (here and here). I have my mail-in vote for August 4, but I think I’ll go to polls. Depends on the weather and air quality, but I’m voting one way or the other.

I think his attack is really an attack on our badass Attorney General, Dana Nessel, but she ain’t worried and neither are we.
