Oven and Shakers 1134 NW Everett St, Portland

I think it was our first night in Portland that we stopped here on our way back to our hotel for a nightcap. The bartender recommended something called A Pineapple Trainwreck which turned out to be fabulous!

Could of spent hours in here but time was at a premium!

However with this being so close to our hotel, we did get a chance to stop back in one more time before we departed.

Those Trainwrecks really pack a punch, to avoid feeling like one the next morning I'd maybe limit them to one or two.......:seeingstars:

If you ever go to Nepal, don't try to climb Mount Everest.

Toadstool Cupcakes 3557 SE Hawthorne Blvd Portland

Stopped in here to refuel while shopping one afternoon in the Hawthorne district. Everything was fresh and delicious!

Need to replace your old bag?

If you're in Portland check out Black Star Bags 2033 SE Hawthorne Blvd

My friend was thrilled when we came across this joint in the Hawthorne district! She'd been looking to replace her well-worn laptop tote for some time. She found just the perfect bag here and she said at a price far cheaper than she'd of pay in Chicago!

Aalto Lounge 3356 SE Belmont St, Portland

There was a statement posted that the Happy Hour promotion is for well-mannered, appropriately-tipping customers which we considered ourselves to be, so we bellied up to the bar, sat down, and ordered! I had something called a Slow Burn and my drinking pal ordered a Belmont Jewel.

This place had a fun crowd! The drinks & prices were amazing..:hangloose:

cathexis, I guess not!

The struggles and demise of the 24 Hour Church of Elvis were much lamented. "The church flamed out faster than a hunka, hunka burnin' love,” the Oregonian's Steve Woodward wrote in a story about a tourist who was "all shook up" after coming all the way from Tampa, Florida, to visit the church only to find it closed. Karl Samson, author of Frommer's Portable Portland, described it as “just plain unique."

Cole's Bar and Grill 5811 N 51st St, Ruston, WA (Ruston is on the outskirts of Tacoma)

Friendly and helpful staff, good drinks, $5 appetizers, daily specials, and week-ends they serve breakfast and breakfast drinks!

Mary had a Cesar and I a burger, both delicious! The cook who brought out the food was a little cutie! Not sure about a Happy Hour, we get there at an odd hour but around 3:30 we did notice an influx off women arriving.. :hangloose:

Sidebar: There is also outside dining for those who enjoy that!
