Going on a drive to hear the waves, late in the afternoon. Stopping for the blue plate special, watching the sun go down over the cow pastures, driving on the beach, sitting on the tailgate, getting sand on our feet, watching the moonlight dance on the crest of the waves.....this is what we do best, spur of the moments Happiness |
my Love
I've pondered this for many years. For me it's when love humbles you. When loving someone changes your life for the better. When simply being grateful for that person every day makes life easier because you know that no matter what happens, somehow nothing could be that bad. You will hear their voice, see them and laugh with them. And that's all it takes. You realize no matter what you don't have, you have all you need. It's when you see the sky fall and you're still happy, in the most peaceful way.
I've learned that it can be more than fleeting moments ... it can last. |
Happiness is getting to spend more than half my day in the workshop on a beautiful sunny day; being amused by the chickens as they peeked in the open door to check on me; and getting to tell my Aunt that "it isn't winter here" (she lives where they get bunches of snow every year)...

Happiness is just the simple, little things......... Having the first cup of coffee out on the porch in the morning, watching my dogs play, spending time with my spouse doing absolutely nothing but just being together, bird watching, pushing her wheelchair on the boardwalk and just strolling along smelling the salt air. To me happiness is a simple life.

Peace.... no neurosis, no analysis paralysis, no hiding, no running, not being haunted.... constantly.... Happiness is a split second of being at peace.... I guess.

Happiness is...having a really great day traveling with my buddy and favorite pup...spending good time at a huge "cement" market to buy things for a special garden....getting to share ice cream with my silly pup...and open minded communication between two long time, respectful friends.

Happiness is....spending a big part of the day at Pike Nurseries and indoor garden center; scoring two huge cases of my favorite orange Violas for FREE; buying hummingbird plants and other treats for my Memory garden; getting muddy in the rain as I replanted my prized finds; and having fun with friends!!
Happiness is...Pike Nurseries is better than any botanical gardens! Happiness is...it's almost bed time. |

grilling a big dinner at home... tending to my 50+ tomato plants, anxiously awaiting warmer weather to get them in the garden... Being appreciated for my grilled dinner... Making travel/camping plans... Feeling safe and respected... Snuggling on the couch with my two favorite snuggle buddies. |
stopping for tacos on the way home! It's always a fun adventure when we are together!
