- that i have a birthday coming up, but i'm not saying when..(and yes, it's hidden here LOL) ...
- i think chocolate & peanut butter could be the very best combination in the world and i think it sucks that it's not healthy , especially the reese peanut butter cups! - i quite often grab a spoon or spatula, turn around dramatically and see an audience awaiting a perfect performance, complete with song & dance....especially 'i will survive' - i've got the moves!!! *grinz* - i am learning to be good to myself, take care of myself, and love myself.. when i truly achieve this goal wholeheartedly, i know the bullying, the negative folk & the users in my life will surely not get to me anymore.. i look forward to that! - i was on a local television show, as a child called 'star date'.. at the beginning of the show, i was sitting in a star, and said the words, 'my name is sylvie - and welcome...to STAR DAAAAAAAAAATE".. |

I love plum flavored anything!
I hated going to school until I went to college..then I loved it I partipated in the Fashion Bug plus size model shows I sometimes feel like I am so lost in the new technology. I wonder if this is how my parents felt with 8 tracks and cassettes, beepers and car phones. In my minf, the purest form of humanity is a smile. |
1) I obviously still dont know how to post and delete without deleting the entire post
2) I love the flavor of prune in just about anything 3) I modeled in the plus size fashion bug model show 4) my graduation present was a 74 nova baby blue 5) I burnt the engine out of it because I did not know you had to do something with oil to it |
I have brown eyes.
I'm Irish, English, and Scottish ;) I'm not as happy as I pretend to be. xoxo. |
I own a cybersonic toothbrush.
I like cheese and garlic pizza. I once ate 2 big dinners within hours of each other. Homemade jambalaya that i got to help serve and 2 hours later i was eating chic and waffles in Oakland!!! One of my best food nights ever!!! I like chocolate milkshakes made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. I want a kindle!!! |
Obviously I owe y'all two more things... wow, I really need to pay attention.
- I'm not a fan of cheese on pizza. It has to be easy cheese, extra sauce, and toppings... I know, I'm weird ;) - I have a tendency to look for something with one hand... while the thing I'm actually looking for is in my other hand. LOL. |
|
1. I watch a LOT of Youtube. Mostly videos on how to do stuff like can jelly, raise chickens and grow veggies.
2. I am fascinated with fresh herbs and thinking about trying my hand again (killed everything last year) 3. The idea of Spring arriving revs up my obsession with all green veggies 4. I don't have enough time to do everything I want...not even CLOSE to enough time so I usually go through cycles of hiding from my to-do list or staying up for days at a time to work down my to-do list. No happy medium there 5. The other night, I had a dream that a baby elephant was trying to pet me with her snotty pink nose. __________________ |

*I only use manure for growing things in my garden. The soil is horrible. Everything I plant, grows, spreads, and comes back year after year. I have sent some of my clippings to friends in other states where the clippings are growing. *I dream a lot. *I enjoy living simply. *I have hummingbirds that land on my head and shoulders whenever I walk outside in my backyard. Doesn't matter if I have the dog and cats with me or not. I always have a bird on my head or on my shoulder. *I talk to God every day. |
I enjoy wearing my hiking boots, bluejeans and favorite well worn Tshirt ah-hell-of-a-lot better than I like wearing fancy dress/work clothes and uncomfortable dress shoes/boots. (I don't like being told I am a "girl" or I look "femmie".)
I would rather go on a long hiking/camping trip than be locked up in a stuffy old building all day or go shopping. I miss hiking on Skyline Drive and spending the day next to a secluded waterfall. I want to get my pilot's license and also learn to teach Tai Chi and Self Defense Classes. My dream home is a small cabin or Yurt, very secluded and far away from "civilization"....far enough away that the US Mail doesn't even make deliveries. I'd have my pilot's license and a plane or helicopter to go get supplies when I needed to stock up. |
I have developed arthiritis in my hips, back, and upper legs from falling down the stairs at my apt
Ive never spent a Valentine's Day, My Birthday, or the Holidays with someone special Im very high strung Im currently developing a huge attraction for Hispanic women (One In particular has my attention :) I havent slept through the night in years.. I wake up every other hour |
I LOVE tangerines. Most fruit I love but especially tangerines
I can never remember jokes. Nor movies. Nor books. I can have a vague notion of what happened but have to watch it all over again to get it. Unless its like the Wizard of Oz...Of course I know what happens! I am terrified of getting hurt. Always have been. So its stopped me from roller skating, sled riding, swimming, etc. My mother convinced me as a youngster that if I tried any of these things, I would break a leg or something. To this day, I panic if someone tries to get me to try one of these activities. (Yet, I have ridden a horse down the side of a rocky hill, through a rough river and into bellyhigh snow drifts...) I never went to kindergarten I am good friends with a well known professional magician. |
This morning, I woke up in a panic, thinking that I'd left the dog outside last night. I hadn't. But, now I'm wide awake.
I'm noticing a change in my mood as we are getting some of the clutter handled and stuff cleared out of the house. It's a good change. I think my daughter would rather spend time at her dad's house, now that he lives with his fiancee and her two young children. I understand, but, :( We have four of the most interesting cats, ever. All so affectionate and funny. We are so lucky to have great neighbors. One of them was on our roof for several hours last night, chopping ice and pushing off tons of snow. We sent pizza (to his house, not the roof). |

*I love big screen tvs, but don't have one. *A screened in porch is something of a must have for me. *I enjoy watching fire works, but hate the noise after they explode. I would much rather watch them on TV and turn off the sound. *Sliding on the floor in my socks is fun to do. *I have to thank Jack and Linus for turning me onto pipes. They calm me down quite a bit. :hangloose: |
I write really creepy stories that would probably make you not want to talk to me. Seriously. I rarely let anyone see them. I have had a few of them published in tiny obscure publications. I didnt even get paid. Under a different name. Dont ask. I wont share. I started this type of writing after reading a Steven King book about writing. I went deep and dark and these came out.
I often wonder why we have so few cemetaries when so many people have died over the years. Think about it. Seriously. Just in the past five years, in our country, the number of deaths that have occurred would have filled how many graves in already existing cemetaries? If our populations are aging and more people are dying, why are we building homes at a faster rate than we are developing new cemetaries? And where are the cemetaries for the people from a hundred years ago? two hundred? I find rudeness is the self righteous cousin of bulliness I chew ALOT of gum I have lost 2" off my height over the years... |
@Softness-good question. Probably, many have been lost to urban development or simply overgrown. Most cemeteries were one or two families, very small. The huge garden creations came about only around the turn of the last century (Forest Lawn,Spring Grove, etc.). Preservation and maintenance began when cemeteries became almost another city park, except with people buried in it.
1. This one's pretty obvious-I love cemeteries, and they don't squick me out at all. I'd be a celebrity grave hunter, if I lived in a celebrity town, but I don't want to disrespect their resting places, either. I would have a field day (no pun intended) in the Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn alone, but it is closed up tight. 2. I can sight-read music; sometimes play a tune just by ear. 3. I can somewhat read Russian; speaking and actually forming sentences is another story. I like to teach myself languages for fun. 4. Crime and Punishment might be my favorite book. (No, I don't read that in Russian :P) 5. I love true-crime books. I always need a collection of Ann Rule for airplane rides. |
.... on the cemetery thing ... shortly after I moved here, Mare and I decided to have lunch at a local cemetery. In fact, we've visited just about every one in the area - most of them date back to the 1700-1800's. We enjoy (what most people would consider) creepy things.
Lately, my dreams have been very bizarre and very busy. I've been waking up exhausted (and confused) because of it. I am noticing that my typing has consisted of more typos. Thank God for the backspace button - and yes, it's concerning me a bit. I just realized that my typo issue might be because Max likes to jump on my keyboard and then sit in front of the light source blocking my view of the keyboard. :/ I have a knack for forecasting weather. I have a love for anything ancient especially mythology - Greek being my favorite subject. |
I've met Prince Charles - we spoke about parachutes
I've played in Phil Collins' band - for a week (A Princes Trust week) I really don't believe I'm smart despite being a member of MENSA I don't have a driving license I hate my Pops when he calls me by my birth name rather than a name I find acceptable, which he does all the time. |
I'm learning to relax, it's hard but I'm learning
I've watched about 6 or 8 movies in the last 7 months, that is 6 or 8 more than in the last 10 or 15 yrs combined I sleep better in a sitting position and with Skippy than I do lying down or without Skippy I love the smell of clothes hung out on the clothesline but they make me sneeze I hate procrastination and am probably one of the worlds worst for it, and I don't know what to do about it. |
1) I love horses and dogs
2) I love putting milk in my macaroni & cheese...and also my Ramen Noodles! 3) My favorite colors are purple & baby blue 4) I hate the snow and wish it could be summer all year long! 5) I can't cook very well, but would love to learn |
me

I don't see cemetaries as creepy (unless it's pitch black and there's creepy 'someone's coming to get you' music playing in the background). I think that's because of two things. One, I'm not afraid of death at all. Two, I find the living substantially more fearful than the dead.
I used to live down the road from a small, country cemetary and loved going down there to get away from the typical rotten childhood. I think more people are choosing to be cremated nowadays than be buried. I am one of those people. Then again, there's those funeral homes that have been charged with putting multiple corpses in one grave and/or selling the corpses' parts off without the family's notice. I'm more worried about future generations than the past, though I think before we, as a nation and as humans, can progress, we have to look back and learn from the work of our ancestors. |
I use to get lost in stores as a child, quite often. I remember this vividly. I cant imagine letting my own child wander off like my mum did me. I could always find my mum by her cough. She had sinus drip and it made her cough all the time so I would race around the store until I heard her nagging cough.
I have been getting some pretty bad head aches. I tell them to take a number and wait in line with all the other problems..lol I prefer Wendy's to all other fast food restaurants I drink my coffee with 3 sweetnlows and 2 creams. |

cemetaries are very relaxing & peaceful to me... not creepy whatsoever.. and i much agree Gemme, i find the living more fearful.. |
- i am a pickle lover, hand me a jar of tangy dills and a fork to pull them out, and i'm a happy camper! - i spend my days seeking positivity & smiling because i refuse to accept life is anything but great! i was once who dwelled on negativity, and because i did, that's exactly what i got! - i , at times, feel my godmother around me..she passed away 10 years ago, and was a source of strength for me all through my life - they've been times i've been very sad and feeling lost, or a situation i've been really scared.. - i had a very vivid imagination as a child, and would have found fun out of a dustball and spoon if need be.. my imagination helped me escape from the reality of my childhood, and i still use that vivid imagination as an adult today. - the word peeps, as friends, is a peeve of mine, lol.. peeps, are marshmellow candy...i roll with homies, not peeps LOL..*groan* i know, i know! |
Dill pickle lovers, unite!!!! Claussens are my favorite.
I haven't had a decent, home-fried fried pickle in a loooong time. I was probably about 11. THIS place has fried pickles, but it's the spear and I prefer the hamburger cut type. I have had their fried green tomatoes and they are really good. I haven't had fried ice cream since I moved to Texas. Something feels wrong about that. I had some sweets and now I feel sleepy. Sugar never used to to affect me but now that I've significantly cut down on it, it makes me tired. |
I crave orange sherbert when I am sad
I love to wear Mary Jane shoes. Isnt that what they are called? The ones with the little strap across the top? I have no means of playing music on the main floor of my house I have always wanted a white leather wallet and never bought one for myself. I guess I thought it was frivilous to want something that would get scuffed so easily. I dont normally do that (the above) I indulge myself of the things i want when I can afford them. I remember opening up my mother cupboards and seeing all the clothes we had purchased her for holidays, that she never wore, because she was saving for special occassions. She died before she had a chance to wear them. I swore I would not do that. I would put out the good china and wear the nice things and buy the precious desires when I could... |
Oh,lets see ahhh 5 things about me...hummmm

2. My mind is always running with a million things on my mind 3. I feel lonely even with my friends around 4. Simon is truly the love of my life.... I love that little dog... He truly melts my heart 5. I love Cherry Coke Zero |
Since losing 23 lbs (so far) I no longer have pain in my hip and I don't feel incredibly tired in the mid-afternoon.
On the subject of pickles, my favorite are the kosher garlic pickles that you used to be able to buy in barrels in the deli section. Last night I dreamt that I was hanging out with two friends from high school (who I haven't seen in decades, but are Facebook friends). They were engrossed in a college football game that was on TV, and were kind of cuddling on the couch. I was feeling a little left out because there was no room for me on the couch. I took off my coat and realized that I had accidentally taken my pants off (!!!). I got really upset when I noticed this, and blamed it on dementia. I blame Facebook.... I just got in touch with a woman who makes bouquets out of vintage brooches and other jewelry. She's going to make bouquets for my daughters and me, for our commitment ceremony. She'll incorporate brooches that I'm going to send her that belonged to my grandmother and Candy's mom. I'm so excited! I belong to a book club. We meet every month for dinner, but we usually haven't read the book. It's an excuse for old work buddies to get together. |
Pickles, pickles and more pickles....love then I do,mostly I really like the mount olive sour pickles..I cant get enough of them.I will shurely eat dills or bread and butter pickles,I always have a galon jar(sour) on the kitchen table just like the big ones we use to get at the mom amd pop store.

All of this talk about pickles has me craving some of those sweet gherkins!
|
who knew my post on pickles would bring out the pickle lovin' members :P
yaaaaaay! some more on me.. and Ryan you dont count if you read this one, i will find something you DONT know about me eventually hahaha! 1. when there is a bug someplace in my house, i rescue them and deliver them out of my house someplace safe, lol.. i have found spiders new outside homes, and even parachuted a ladybug via plastic baggy from my window to my children's hands so they could release her elsewhere...*smiles* 2. i grew up putting my heart into music as a child..it was an escape from my reality - i sang in a choir, which led to a local television show for a couple of years, which led to playing violin & changing styles to fiddle, a little piano, and finally learning some mean harmonica skills from my Pepere to boot..i wish i kept up with it all.. i would like to learn acoustic guitar though.. maybe that's something i will do this year =) 3. i am petit mal epileptic.. (no seizures) just dizzy spells & headaches, depending on how well i take care of myself.. i choose to not take medication for it..and am not ashamed to say i have epilepsy anymore.. it's something i was made fun of for, all through life.. 4. i still have my raggedy ann doll i got from my godmother (RIP) back when i was 2 years old.. my poor raggedy ann doll has seen better days.. she barely has hair, has holes through her face, has holes beneath the arms, tummy and even the crotch LOL.. oh and she's blown a foot off somehow, and losing the 2nd one.. i still display her proudly though, she sits on the corner of my makeup bureau cuz she's pretty darn special to me... despite her "scars" she's beautiful to me! =) 5. as a child, i tormented my stepsister (and she still loves me, go figure).. i concocted a scheme that i found a picture of a dirty looking yak in a national geographic magazine, it was scary looking to us, and named him Cat Man.. (dont ask lol) .. and told her that *points to magazine* that is Cat Man and when you are sleeping at night, he sneaks into your room so you have to be careful he doesn't get you! i would even sneak into her room and write messages on her chalkboard from Cat Man for when she woke up and would tell her that he hates when she doesn't do chores or share her treats (she would share all her treats with me and help me do MY chores LOLOL...) When my stepsister got married years later, during her reception dinner , it got mentioned and i was sooo embarrassed that she even remembered it LOL funny things we do as small children... |
When I don't get invited to a party (any party), I feel hurt and left out--even parties of neighbors who I don't know very well. Being included is a thing of mine, leftover issues from junior high.
I walked past my cat this evening and she high-fived me. There is hardly a day that goes by that I don't feel incredibly lucky and grateful for my family, love, job, and home. And, I believe that gratitude is the key to happiness. My honey already started showering me with Valentine goodies. So far, chocolate covered strawberries and fancy caramel and chocolate covered apples, new pillows, a cool organizer for my car, and a bus day trip to Boston in March. Tomorrow is dinner out and a movie. I'm such a lucky girl. I always get so surprised when someone, otherwise intelligent and worldly, expresses bigotry. It happened today, when a client was telling an interesting story about his life, and all of a sudden, I heard, "...and it was because of the Jews." I was trying to keep my professional hat on my head, but I felt like crying. |
Like Lynn, I have found an "attitude of gratitude" lifts me and keeps me humble and happy. I keep a gratitude journal, even the smallest things.
I still don't like the feeling of being left out, even from something happening on the other side of the planet. I am on a program to work up to 200 push-ups, 100 situps, and 50 pull-ups. You don't want to know how many I started with. Nothing makes me feel so old as reading that the NFL thought the Rolling Stones and the Who were "safe, family entertainment" for halftime . I love a tidy, organized, beautifully decorated living space but can't seem to get there :(. |
1. I know most designers say you aren't supposed to paint a very small space a dark color but I intend to paint my teeny tiny office (10x10) a deep shade of eggplant and I don't really care how small it makes it look. I prefer closed, dark spaces anyway.
2. I've been known to eat frozen cool whip out of the container. 3. I used to love ketchup on everything but now I can only tolerate it on tater tots and it MUST be Heinz. Hunt's is vinegary and gross! 4. I wake up every day thankful to be alive. It is rare that I wake up in a crappy mood. 5. I prefer imperfection in almost everything. |
