On a Cohen kick
Leonard Cohen - Boogie Street
So ~ocean got me on a Leonard Cohen kick after her last few posts. Thaaaanks. :p
He's one of my favourite artists and I absolutely love his poetry. Finally saw him in concert last year for the first time and he totally blew me away. He's a true performer in every sense of the word.
I actually like his use of backup singers in this one. I think with most artists it can come off as cheesy but somehow it works for him.
I love the entire song, but the lyrics I find most intriguing are:
So come, my friends, be not afraid.
We are so lightly here.
It is in love that we are made
In love we disappear.
I'll often go back to his [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Book-Longing-Leonard-Cohen/dp/0771022298/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top"]Book of Longing[/ame] and get something totally different out of it than I did before. I just love him. :awww:
