We have a warehouse by us that sells things that have been returned by big box stores. Everything is auctioned off online, starting at a Dollar. Today I won a long handled bulb planter, an edger, a bubbling birdbath, a 100 ft metal hose, garden gloves, and a 24” planter.
I am also picking up some fertilized eggs from a farm later today. From Amazon, some blueberry pie filling for a special recipe for the husband. And grape jello which was 4 Xs the price of all the other flavors!!!! |
My wife treated me to a box of 30 alcohol inks, that includes 6 metallic colors! A bottle of bright gold alcohol ink....:) A 20 piece pack of special paper for alcohol inks!!! |
A watermelon sugar body scrub and a mint sugar body scrub. Can I say ....I love doing markdowns at TJMAX, I get first pick! Lol
Two boxes of foot masks, and a chair pad for my rocking chair on the patio. Last week, new jeans, and storm supplies. |
A new recliner for me, a futon for my grand daughters to sleep on when they stay over, Halloween craft items, and chicken feed

- The most delicious, buttery parmesan cheese biscuits with mustard seeds
- Pumpkin doughnuts |
So, I bought this really cool fan. It was such a deal! I also came home with big wooden letters. A B and two O's..spelling BOO. I'm going to paint them pumpkin orange and then sprinkle the heck out of them with orange glitter. Attach stakes so that they will be sparkling in my garden with a spotlight at night. Yesterday I went downtown to the tourist shops and bought some shell bracelets for my friend's granddaughters when I visit them next week, while on vacation. I know my first stop while in So Cali will be the fabric district. I'll be purchasing for me!! Oh yeah, some red vines and Jr Mints😮 |
I bought a new salad bowl w a lid.
Then I went to a church rummage sale. I bought a gorgeous glass relish tray. If I had the space, I would just collect so much class! My adult daughter doesn’t see the need to hold onto these beautiful things from the past. So I don’t want to collect too much otherwise it’ll just be more for her to dispose of when I am gone. I’m hoping if I keep it simple, she might keep a few for my granddaughters. I also got a relic of the past, a magazine rack. Not many people buy magazine subscriptions anymore. I have my favorites of gardens and birds and cooking. I wanted some place where I can put these issues. Finally I found a magazine rack I like! |
A pet glucometer! for Ginger. We are having a time getting her sugar regulated.....:(.

I bought laptops, one for my seven year old granddaughter, and one for my nine year old granddaughter, for Christmas. The world sure has changed since I’ve lived in it. At their age I was getting baby dolls and Barbie dolls. Look at them also, but their electronics are the biggest desire.
I’m also perusing egg incubators. I really like having chickens. I got a neat little set up for them in my garden. I’d like to get the equipment I need to raise some peeps from eggs over the winter. |
Came home with luggage full of...sourdoughbread, See's candy, various craft supplies and NFL Rams merch.

Haul from the farmer's market:
- banana walnut bread - a ready-to-bake squash casserole - green seedless grapes (they are GIGANTIC and so sweet!) - baking potatoes - jasmine green tea - dill - black peppercorns - acorn squash - pecans |
Oh for gods sake…a car battery for my old car.
|
I’ve got some of our laundry to do, so we will spend a small amount of money doing that. Later on this evening, I get to go watch our favorite high school football team play against another team in our district league. :cheesy:
Other than these couple of things on my to-do list, I paid a few bills online (power bill, car payment, and line of credit pymt with my credit union). Happy Thursday :hk28: |
Everything!
As soon as I said that, this came to mind. :jester: Today was my yearly jaunt to the largest art festival in the state and I made out like a bandit. I have jewelry from multiple artists/vendors including a husband/wife team that make lovely bracelets and matching necklace/earring sets for very reasonable prices (and who switched out two charms on one of the bracelets, no problem), a glass pendant, artwork, handmade paper, stickers, a handmade cloth coin purse, a mini acrylic bookmark with gemstones pressed inside of it, tea light containers shaped into adorable animals using recycled metal parts (a cat, a bird and a unicorn) and I found a new vendor/artist that makes tiny clay things and then frames them in lovely designs. For example, he has functioning clocks with tiny tea/coffee cups where the numbers would go and he made a few hundred tiny saucers and put them together into designs and framed it. Very costly, as everything is handmade and takes a while to complete but I did get a piece and now I know about him so I can plan ahead for next year and get more pieces. I love, love, love his work! He doesn't use molds so even though some of the designs are the same, the colors and items inside are not. Everything is a one of a kind. I got a small piece of a lime green water can pouring onto a flower pot filled with a multitude of flowers inside. Very colorful, as my artwork tends to be. It's in a 1.5 inch thick fancy brushed nickel frame and has a divine corrugated mat. This guy! He's closed the Etsy shop while he makes the art festival rounds but it will open back up again after that. I tend to find one or two new vendors/artists every year. He was one and this lady was another. She and I got along so well that, when Square went down and she couldn't ring me up, she said I could just come by her house to pick something out since we discovered we live two towns apart. Love her! Her work reminds me of Kelly Rae Roberts and I told her so. Thankfully, she took it as the compliment it was meant to be. I love whimsical, colorful, positive artwork! It makes my soul sing and feel joyful when I look at it. I also bought groceries and gasoline but who wants to hear about that. |
Went to get a few things at the grocery store deli, for dinner tonight: Apricot Chipotle Meatloaf and a big side of Bacon Mac-n-Cheese, and bottled mineral water.
And a brief (but long) stay at the local spa for my mind, body and nails. |

Himalayan yak cheese. :|
Yes, really. They are dog chews made from Himalayan yak cheese, and they are super hard. Brittany thinks they are super delicious, and it takes her a long time to chew one down. She chewed on one for 2 hours, and it was only half gone. Apparently according to the package directions, when a chew gets worn down to the last inch, you can make a cheese puff out of it and feed it to your dog. You soak the end in warm water and then microwave it, and it turns into a yak cheese puff. :| I'll consider serving these at my next party - NOT! (Unless it's a dog party.) |
I went to World Market to buy a couple of spooky Halloween cards. I also came home with two sparkly Christmas ornaments. I'm going to Paris so how could I not buy it? I'm going to dream about it till I see it with my own eyes!
