Each and every one of those Presidents was a politician who had held an elective office(s) before they were President. Every politician comes from some other background and they developed the skill sets and knowledge needed to run a government BEFORE they ever became President.

Right. Now, I do appreciate the diverse backgrounds of said presidents because it combines with the elected office experience they had to make them more well rounded and understand governmental decision making. Having experienced running a business is good experience for a president, but so is running a non-profit or community organization. These experiences do bring a sense of just how difficult it is to run government- and it is.
Look at the dead lock and plain insanity going on with the new Tea Party GOP members in the House- most of which have never held public, elected office. What they have done (and I kind of like this), is to split the GOP and cause internal strife. And.... a reason we Trump is on his tear. And Rove is putting out warnings to the GOP.
Let them crash & burn!!!!
