this is a very significant song for me. It opens something deep within me and when chrissy and I met, this song came pouring out of the caverns within both of us that needed filled. It is to be our wedding song...

DESPERADO~the Eagles
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses? You've been out riding fences for so long now Oh, you're a hard one I know that you've got your reasons These things that are pleasing you Can hurt you somehow Don't you draw the queen of diamonds She'll beat you if she's able You know the queen of hearts is always your best bet Now it seems to me, some fine things Have been laid upon your table But you only want the things that you can't get Desperado, oh you ain't getting any younger Your pain and your hunger, they're driving you home And freedom, oh freedom, well, that's just some people talking Your prison is walking through this world all alone Don't your feet get cold in the winter time? The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine It's hard to tell the night time from the day You're losing all your highs and lows Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away? Desperado, why don't you come to your senses? Come down from your fences, open the gate It may be raining, but there's a rainbow above you You better let somebody love you, before it's too late. |

My personal theme song has probably changed an average of every 12 to 18 months.
It's typically not a song that I overly like but, rather, a song that defines me. The two can be, and usually are, very different things. This is my current "personal theme song". The lyrics will mean almost nothing to almost everyone here but they do to me. |
Alanis Morrisette, Hand in my Pocket
[nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tft8jGnWqLs"]Hand In My Pocket- Alanis - YouTube[/nomedia] I'm broke but I'm happy I'm poor but I'm kind I'm short but I'm healthy, yeah I'm high but I'm grounded I'm sane but I'm overwhelmed I'm lost but I'm hopeful baby What it all comes down to Is that everything's gonna be fine fine fine 'cause I've got one hand in my pocket And the other one is giving a high five I feel drunk but I'm sober I'm young and I'm underpaid I'm tired but I'm working, yeah I care but I'm restless I'm here but I'm really gone I'm wrong and I'm sorry baby What it all comes down to Is that everything's gonna be quite alright 'cause I've got one hand in my pocket And the other one is flicking a cigarette And what it all comes down to Is that I haven't got it all figured out just yet 'cause I've got one hand in my pocket And the other one is giving the peace sign I'm free but I'm focused I'm green but I'm wise I'm hard but I'm friendly baby I'm sad but I'm laughing I'm brave but I'm chickenshit I'm sick but I'm pretty baby And what it all boils down to Is that no one's really got it figured out just yet 'cause I've got one hand in my pocket And the other one is playing the piano And what it all comes down to my friends Is that everything's just fine fine fine 'cause I've got one hand in my pocket And the other one is hailing a taxi cab |
