For sake of clarity, because of a certain retelling of oral history by particular members of my mother's family, I'd would really like to spend time visiting with a certain grandmother of mine, from 5 generations ago.
I want to know what her life was like, what kinds of things she endured - if she felt like talking about it. Too, just to sit quietly with her and enjoy her company. |

My Ma, I would ask what she thinks of how my life has gone these past five years without her here! I also want to ask her how she did that dream thing, knowing my fear of people close to me passing and coming back in my dreams, (yeah I know its a weird thing with me) I want to know how she seemed so real and I woke up laughing out-loud at our/her shenanigans even as I sat up in bed. No fear, was a totally freaking cool dream! Yup, definitely want that convo with my Ma. The whole rest of that day was a solid wonderful feeling and strong energy from her.

1. Me about mid to late teens , tell myself its going to be ok. And not to waste time regretting things I cant control and to take charge of my life sooner.
2. J.R.R. Tolkien , I would ask him for advice on my writing and how he created such amazing stories that touch and ignite the imagination in millions. 3. God...ask him why all the horrible things that happened to me as a child were necessary to create who Iam today. Although maybe I already know the answer to that in a way. The saying the finest steel is forged in the hottest flames comes to mind , although I still have alot to learn and better myself...but still I would want to talk to him in person. |
Oh, there are lots of folks I'd like to chat with over tea, but today I'm thinking of a few Texans...
Barbara Jordan Molly Ivins Ann Richards |
|
Definitely Eleanor Roosevelt because I think she was a very intelligent woman way ahead of her time. I think she would be an inspiring dinner companion.
Robin Williams, to share laughs and to let him know that he touched so many lives in a way that no one else could. My adopted grandmother, to say thank you and to give her a hug. We would laugh and talk and I would walk away much the wiser. |
Last year I picked Hitler just so I could stab him to death. This year I think I'll go for Pol Pot.

Sappho.... And ask her if we've gotten her all wrong.
Btw, I'd do the same with Rumi. |
Alexander Hamilton........
I never knew he came from such a unique background or anything else much about him to be honest, except him being on the ten dollar bill, until the success of Hamilton the Broadway Play! Now I'm just fascinated with him! |
Tesla - I love his socialism and his principles of making technology open and free
Ann Bonny - I'd love to hear her life as she tells it, not what the books say There are a number of female scientists I'd love to talk to. I can pick just one. I want to know how they coped with doing research, how they found support, how they dealt with the religious pressure and pressure to be at home. |
