i miss my Mom...she made me feel special in a way no one else ever will and i miss that terribly. i miss being able to talk with her after a particularly heinous day at work...she had this way of saying "I know" that made everything seem OK... i miss knowing she was only a phone call away...

i think i'm feeling this more right now because i'm under a lot of stress from work and because May is just around the corner...a month that begins with Mother's Day and closes with what would have been her 76th birthday...

Today is full of tomorrows but nothing is promised so I will enjoy the now

I miss Spring already...it is turning into Summer weather too soon! And it feels like this year it's going to be a hotter than hell one again!

Spring...wish you would stay awhile longer. Me n my girl haven't had enough time to enjoy you yet!

Come back...

I'm saddened to hear this about you. I know exactly how you feel. I've been missing the same things for months now. I guess not everything is what we thought it was, and then we find out things we hoped were not true. It is my hope that happiness finds you. I know it will. I hope the same for me, but it hurts right now. :candle:

I know how you feel Scarlett. I'm really sorry you're sad right now too. I miss my Mom too. Most especially when I was in the hospital. Sometimes I felt her with me, but I think it just made me miss her more. Moms have a way of comforting us like no one else can.

Idyllwild, CA

I miss the woods where I painted year round. I miss the Steller Jays crying for more, the squirrels racing to the top and the daredevil dives.

The drive into town for more, nuts for them, dinner for us.

I miss the quiet of my mind.

With the personal disappointments I had this week I found myself really missing my Mom. She hasn't passed, but her mind is gone and she is not nearby anymore. On more than one occasion this week I have missed her comfort and unconditional love and support.

Blaze 05-05-2012 06:41 PM

OMG I so do miss my Home, and all the recreational things...

Gramma D....

Visiting my favorite places in the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains ....

Wading barefoot into an ice cold mountain stream ...feeling the water rush around my legs, feeling them tingle as the cold starts to numb them... having all my senses come alive as I take in my surroundings and the experience ...

Then thawing out next to a nice fire, with roasted marshmellers and good company

I miss connections and intense pleasure just from sensory play...

I miss feeling human and feeling connected, instead of being just a working machine not focused on my emotions or other needs...

I miss allowing myself to feel connected...

I miss my parents cabin out in the woods!
It's a lot of fun visiting them out there, even if the skeeters end up eating me
alive. Would love to fish or to have the opportunity to in the river back home, ride a 4 wheeler, meet their new dog...and have them meet daisy!

~Temps above 6o degrees
~Falling asleep being held tight in anothers arms

~The parts of me that are no longer there
~Knowing what I want
~The innocence of childhood
~My bestie that simply lives too far away

LadyRieinAL 06-03-2012 07:32 AM

I Miss

I miss:
Being in love
Sharing simple mundane conversations with someone who cares.
Intelligent debates

I miss hearing,
"your turn to cook and I'll clean the kitchen."
"why can't you just squeeze the toothpaste from the bottom?!"
"Assume the position, girl!"
"Who's your Daddy?"
"You washed my cock in the washer again?!!"

I miss:
Flowers being sent to work for no other reason than "I love you"
Him lying in bed, patting his chest to signal for me to scooch over and snuggle with him
Him laughing and groaning when I couldn't remember the punch line of one of my goofy jokes and telling me I shouldn't tell jokes
Working in the garden as a team, he digs, I plant.
Him ribbing me about being a TRUE blonde

I miss intimate moments when he understands my body better than I do.

Blaze!! You're killing me here!! Lol!! I miss all of that. I love the picture of the Thai dancers. They're so graceful.

Did you even know that there are flowers that have no smell? I didn't know that until I was like 17 or 18. LOL! What's the point?

Because pain, disability and chronic exhaustion prevent me from enjoying myself... I miss:
  • deeply intimate moments
  • after-sex treats and cool down time
  • the after-sex glow (instead of pain)
  • cooling down, then my partner working me up again, then the second round being even more aggressive and passionate
  • being incredibly flexible and experimental with new positions
  • leg muscle stamina
  • knees that didn't feel like broken glass when straddling my partner
  • skin that didn't feel nerve pain when touched
  • the look on my partner's face and the sounds they make when they are totally into the moment and I can tell they are completely satisfied and turned on
  • and I miss being told that I'm the best they've ever had, how they love that I'm an amazing lover when I take care of their every need and desire...and how they are so totally crazy about how flexible, inventive and passionate I am.
  • I miss pain free passion and pain free emotional connections.
  • the Fire I once had
  • I miss a time when disability didn't rob me of intimacy and other things I enjoy.
  • I miss a time when my mind could cope with loss.

I miss...cheap flight deals, the days when we didn't have to pay $25 per bag, and the days when flying was not something you just had to endure.

Summers off and all the adventures we had. I think everyone should be off in the summer. Just like when we were growing up. That would be awesome !

shiagirl 06-06-2012 02:40 PM

I miss the lake and pine tree's in Big Bear Lake, Ca where I lived for 10 years.

Just make sure when you secure summers off for the workforce that i get invited to play in these summer adventures...hahaha

oh how i miss those days as well...

clay 06-06-2012 04:48 PM

I miss:
those long summer nights....playing at til the absolute last moment
I miss: chasing fireflies and catching them in jars..
I miss: hanging up in the limbs of those weeping willow trees
I miss: being able to leave your doors unlocked and windows open all night..to catch that summer breeze...and BE SAFE doing so!
I miss: those lazy days....idling away the hours, fishing on the creeks..using a cane pole, a piece of fishing line, a bent safety pin with a piece of spam or a biscuit as bait..catching those huge catfish...cleaning them on the river bank and cooking them in a huge old cast iron skillet right there on the bank.....rolling them in cornmeal seasoned with some salt and pepper...ahh I can still taste fresh catfish. caught in unpolluted waters...
I MISS: the simplicity and innocence of youth...unencumbered by cell phones and computers
I miss: when your best friend was actually your best friend....
I miss: fresh picked tomatoes out of my granny's garden
I miss: penny candy that was actually a penny...going into the little neighborhood store with a quarter......getting a small brown paper sack, filling it up with squirrel nut zippers, tootsie rolls, pkgs. of sixlets, sweet tarts, bubble gum, kit kats, and oh so many more...and feeling like a rich King...with all that wonderful booty.
I miss: family reunions up in the mountains where several hundred people gathered...to dine, visit, and share quality time...when people actually talked...
I miss: that simplistic, honest, and wholesomeness of yesteryear...
