What's not to love about autumn? I even love the word "autumn"...the way it rolls off the tongue. It's probably one of my favorite words.
For some reason, my heart always feels a little more full during that time of year. There is a little extra pep in my step. I'm so ready for autumn. Bring it on. :) |

When you live in a climate where there are 4 very distinct seasons you learn to appreciate each of them as they move one from another...though I'll confess Winter isn't my fave but I do love the end of it. Each is it's own natural miracle and each cycle obliges its own adjustments from you.

I love how I get to find pretty nature presents on the floor :) Especially acorns. And I can just feel the magical air. I am excited for Samhain-Halloween. I also have a lot of cute clothes for the cooler seasons like my trench coat.

Cool but not cold sleeping nights.
That sweet spot of the perfect fresh apples. Sweatshirts Colors in the trees. Campfires at night in my back yard. Halloween. Dinners in the crockpot because it's cool enough come dinner time for a hot meal. |

Chestnuts!!
A bounty of beautiful chestnuts was strewn upon the forest path..I took plenty and left plenty more for the critters. :) |

There isn't one thing I dislike about fall
Even the fact that it signals winter is just around the corner!

While we see an extremely small amount of foliage change here, and even less of a temperature change, what we do get with arrival of fall is an abundance of fall/winter crops starting to show up in the markets. Winter squashes, the big ass Florida avocados, carambola (star fruit), eggplant, various peppers and a fresh crop of tomatoes. It is the beginning of our citrus season as well, what's left of it anyway.
I also look forward to some of the local fall festivals, and the knowledge that we only have a couple more months of hurricane season left. |

Our backyard fire pit. We enjoy sitting out back, relaxing, discussing our day. Sometimes a drink or a snack is being enjoyed as well. And ahhhh....the sound of the trains passing.
