Hi everyone! I plan to go to Texas for my birthday, staying in the Katy/Houston area for about a week, would love to meet up with some of my fellow B-F Planet peeps to show me around while I'm there. Going to be there the first week of November, since my birthday is on Halloween. Let me know if ya'll can show me around and meet up! :)

Chained! The Documentary

If anyone is going to be in the Austin area on Sept 8th, treat yourself and go see the documentary 'Chained!' at the Gay and Lesbian. It's about the style that started in the biker community of wearing wallet chains and how it's permeated the Lesbian community. I saw it when it showed in L.A. and it was Great!

Ok, I admit, a friend of mine made the movie. :) But it's still worth seeing.

Hey Miami!! My birthday is also Halloween! And there's a few others here also. We'll all have to toast each other on that spooky day that gave the world our special brand of scariness. But I'm not in Texas. Hope our Texas friends show you a great time!

Thanks honey! I am glad. Matt's is a great place for a group gathering. Hopefully it will be a nice day and we can park on the patio.

Hey Miami! That's only a three hour drive (depending on which side of Houston). What are your plans? Maybe some of us can roadtrip it down there or you can roadtrip to Austin.

Pixie 09-07-2010 11:43 AM

So I'm making an executive decision to move it to Wednesday, Sept. 15th at 7 PM.

<singing> "I enjoy being a girl......" la la la la :eyebat:

Are these still on right?

Diva 09-07-2010 04:18 PM

Yes they are! 13th and 15th...........

Yay for Hurricane Hermine. I had to park in the Back 40 at work this morning. At lunch just now (I take a late lunch), it was POURING. I walked to my car ... or is that swam? I had to change clothes when I got home--from the skin up. OH MY GODS that was fun!

My co-worker laughed at me for jumping in the puddles. hee:hangloose:

Y'all be safe!! Hermine's not done quite yet! (She NEEDS to be....Lucy's little bladder is about to explode, I'm fairly certain of that! ;) )

Gemme 09-07-2010 09:30 PM

A really deep puddle tried to throw me and Ella Blue over the side of a bridge.

Welcome to Texas.

Gayla 09-07-2010 10:03 PM

Should I lie and tell you it's been hot and dry here?

Naaaah. I was fine until that one puddle, then the air turned blue with my verbal expression of my feelings at that particular moment. The rain's nicer here; it's not freezing and doesn't feel like nettles on my skin when it hits me.

Besides, I still have Bremerton on my weather checker. :cheesy:

Gayla 09-07-2010 10:17 PM

I grew up playing in the rain in Austin. Then I moved to NM and learned to hide from it because ran = lighting. Then I moved to Washington and learned to just go about my business without an umbrella so I don't look like a tourist. :|

Riiiiight??? lol

I did miss the thunder and lightning up there though. Coming from the lightning capital of the world, I was used to it. I've been here roughly half a month and I've seen and heard more lightning and thunder than in my 4.5 years in WA.

canmarielan 09-08-2010 09:02 PM

Can't wait for this weekend.

Gayla 09-08-2010 09:29 PM

Did everyone make it through the storm ok?

Talked to my niece earlier and she had issues with her cable and power going out at work but was still excited that she finally got to wear her shiny red raincoat and matching rain boots. :\

As far as I know, we are all present and accounted for. It was quite a downpour yesterday though. :tea:

So if You can't make Purple, then You come on Green & vice versa.......

Gemmie & I will both be there.....watching everyone else hitting the floor after having their Mexitini's.....

I'm really sorry, ya'll. Due to extenuating circumstances, I won't be able to attend these wonderful dinners Miss Diva has so kindly planned (and re-worked to allow for everyone's schedules).

My apologies for backing out of them. I hope I can meet up with everyone that is attending at another time.

Help "Dingo" get back home - lost dog in Austin.

Came across a notice for a lost dog in S.E. Austin, so thought I'd share. LINK He looks so much like my late Jesse I wanted to do something. Please post on your facebook or other S.N. page if you will. Thanks

Sue

I been checking out the menu of Matts El Rancho and the food sounds really great !, looking forward to eating there and seeing everyone thanks Ashton .
We should be heading out around noon from Houston tomorrow.

Well.....our Pup and Oiler have 'tied the knot'.....and it was one of the loveliest evenings of tenderness I have witnessed in quite some time!

From the tears.....to the ceremony....to the food (and that CAKE!!!!) and new friends made.......it was just lovely!

Congratulations Pup & Oiler!!!! It was Magic!

What a fun party that was! My favorite moment was Conner and a certain cutie pie dancing. Leah, you better watch out. I think your man has another woman in his life!

Glynn, I'm totally taking Kay as my own. She's a hoot! I really loved hanging out with her.

Denise, I think you should look into a new career. You were pretty handy on that cowbell.

Hands down, one of the best weddings every.

P.S. Denise, the magic words are "I will." Say it with us now. :):blueheels: You were a stunning bride.

Arwen 09-11-2010 11:53 PM

Reminder! Some of us are going to meet at Matt's Famous on S. Lamar (across the street from Kerby Lane) at 11am tomorrow. Come join us.
