I'm all excited!!! Extreme Home Makeover came storming into my township early Sunday morning and pulled up to the home of a 24 year old kid who is paralyzed from the neck down from a gymnastics injury. Ty Pennington jumps out of the gigantic motorhome with his megaphone and yells Wake Up Keefer Family.
The family had nooooooo idea, it was a complete surprise to them.

We've been having all sorts of benefits to raise money for him since his accident. He's an awesome kid.

The show sent his family on a week's vacation to Colorado while they makeover their home.
And the show is going to be aired as the very first episode of the new season.

Yayyyyy for Brian and his family!!! :cheerleader:

*sigh* I have a lot to do today and I fear I won't have the OOMPH to do it.

I'm tired. I didn't sleep well at all last night. I was too hot, then too cold, had a coughing fit (thank you sinuses) and had to pee like a billion times. Maybe that's more than anyone needed to know, but oh well. I'm tired and indifferent. The mood of the day has now been set.

Heard ...thru Facebook...that there were tornados in Iowa last night...Lord I hope my house there is ok.
No word from tenants...taking that as a good sign...

A summer storm just blew thru, it lasted about 15 minutes. I turned the weather channel on and it showed a house (the entire house) floating in Mino (sp) North Dakota. Holly Cow.

The SF Pride Dyke March! But, I am totally broke and I just know that I'll meet up with folks and want to go out for eats after the march.... :(. I am so freakin' tired of the economic nose-dive I (and millions) have been dealing with the past 3 years. Just tired of it!! However, as the humidity and moisture just drops in the air, I am gaining energy and having less pain- which means I get some positive feelings about mobility as well as changes I have to set in motion to rise out of this mess. It helps to just feel better when trying to set plans in motion!

A friend of Mine.. her best friend lost her brother last night to a drunk driver. The drunk driver was in her mid-20's. She had 4 other passengers in the car with her. She went up over a curb onto a sidewalk and struck him at 100mph. She then proceeded to leave the scene of the accident. Fortunately the other 3 people standing there talking in the group were able to get out of way. One was not so fortunate. All I could think of was.. what if that was Me. What would I have done if someone showed up at My door at 6:15am to tell Me that one of My brother's or sister had been run down - killed almost instantly. Now, the driver (so young) will be charged with vehicular homicide (not manslaughter).. leaving the scene.. reckless endangerment.. speeding.. and who knows what else. For what? One night of partying.. when they probably could have had just as much fun partying at home and never drove.

My heart goes out to Joann's brother .. may he find peace.. and to Joann's family.. that they come together at this time and remember their family member with love. It also goes out to the young driver and her family. They will have to carry this with them the rest of there lives.
