What companies do you consider to be producing a high quality product in lingerie? I have heard mixed reviews on quality and longevity in regard to Victoria's Secret. I really like a lot of VS styles, but if I were to say, purchase a gift for someone, I would want to know what kind of quality I am getting.

Thank you

I do end up buying from VS because it's easy and I know that it will fit, but I can't give them an unequivocal vote re:quality or longevity. Most of the lingerie I buy is for playtime. It doesn't have to stand up to rigourous use because it's not staying on me for long. I'm also, ahem, thrifty. I buy VS when it's on sale. Like right now.

I once received a gift of lingerie from Agent Provocateur. Wow. What a difference! Their quality is very high, and that piece is one of my most prized bits of lingerie.

If you're worried about quality --go for a splurge and buy something handcrafted or from a more high end retailer (a la agent provocateur).

Or do your homework and find out where the lady shops. I'd much rather shop together.....the lady can pick her size but you can make suggestions.

Thank you. I have been given mixed opinions on VS products so I thought that I should ask. I appreciate your feedback.

I have been contemplating the question of where to purchase.... I don't get to treat myself often with such things and when I do its always for a bargain price. But I have found that some of my favorite pieces came from the most unlikely places. I had a wonderful purple nighty and robe that I wore for years... I had it more then a decade, as it was bought before my daughter was born, and when I cleaned out my drawers this last year I finally had to admit it was beyond its prime. This piece, was bought at Target.

I have had the same experiences with a lot of my pieces. Unique little collectors stores, edgey or out of the box clothing stores, even a department store piece can be turned into something more desirable. I do however like to browse online to see all of the possibilites avaliable if I WERE to treat myself.
