I got back to the gym yesterday, after more than a week.

Oh man, was it ever hard!

I was so tired after class, and I was very sore all day.

I'm going to a water aerobics class today, and maybe a few more times before I go back to school.

I am really committed to getting to the gym a few times a week during the school year.

I know it will feel good, that I will feel good, and I believe it will help with my work anxiety.

Need to step up with added cycling since the university gym pool that I use is closed for a couple weeks prior to the new semester. So, in addition to free weights for upper body and the 2 mile speed walks with my dog, I plan to ride my bike on the 4.5 mile route daily until the gym reopens again -- weather permitting, it's showers off and on today and am not interested in a vertical stripe of road dirt on the back of my shirt.

The water aerobics class kicked my butt.

Just living a busy life is enough to keep me 'fit' at the moment.

Does anyone else do that whole totally forgetting to eat thang when life gets busy? I'm becoming aware that I may be getting a li'l bit too thin again.

*note to self...eat especially when you 'can't be bothered' ya numpty!

A pleasing by-product of fettlin' bikes is that it's a bringing back a little definition in my arms. I feel incredibly lucky to have been a gym bunny/bodybuilder in my youth which means it usually takes very little effort to bring back muscle tone and definition. Now I just gotta remember to eat so those micro muscles grow a wee bit.

I took a two hour walk in Riverside Park. It's another beautiful day here, and I'm loving my summer vacation.

Did you see my mother at the monument?

I can confidently say that this is absolutely never happened in my entire life.

I know what you mean about muscle memory, I feel fortunate, as well!

Today I did 45 minutes upper body (arms/shoulders) and some core stuff.

Gemme 08-06-2013 05:59 PM

Somewhere sweeping the webs off of the buildings and dust mopping the floors, a red spider with tickly black legs traumatized me horribly.

Got my heart rate up right quick like, it did.

Update

Done.
Done.
Done...
and done this morning (good thing) before the humidity set in.

May go for a normal pace dog walk this evening, after it has cooled off, since the forecast threat of rain was overhyped.

Thanks for the inspiration, exercise folks!

Repeat.

I really did NOT want to workout today--the only way I got through it was knowing that the core workout is only 20 mins long. And, yet, seems SO much longer! :|

Dakari -

Protein shakes will help you not lose weight, but also help with the building of muscle?

I understand WHEY protein ISOLATE, MICROFILTERED, is the healthiest choice.

Cheers for the tip dood  I shall investigate further. :weightlifter:

ps. I'm really surprised that other folks don't forget to eat. :|

I'm meeting a friend at the gym for stretch and group power.

Wait until he finds out how little I know about what I'm supposed to do in that cockamamie class.

I have identified the names of the exercises I can't do, triceps dip and Warrior III.

:ugh:

My arms are sore and my legs are sore, and my body is tired.

batennisboy 08-07-2013 06:23 PM

Worked out hard last night and was drenched. Expected to have trouble just getting through it all with little sleep the night before but it was quite the contrary. Go figure. Didn't get much sleep last night but great hitting session today. Maybe I should just stop trying to sleep. Gym again tomorrow. Clinic and hitting session both days this weekend. Woohoo!!!

nycfem 08-07-2013 06:44 PM

I did 30 minutes of sprints on the gym stairs while lifting weights. It provides a magnificent adrenaline rush.

I'm Italian.

To not eat would be a sin.

Food = everything.

Love/hate/joy/pain/sorrow/anger/boredom/etc.

Today, I finally made it back into the gym after a two day hiatus.

I did cardio for an hour and revved myself up for about 367 calories and nearly 3.5 miles. Still having issues with those logs connected to my hips. Bah.

Keep it UP, Exercisers!

[ame="http://www.amazon.ca/Personal-Training-With-Jackie-Timesaver/dp/B003VQO524"]Jackie Warner's: Extreme Timesaver Training[/ame]

Definitely worth every sweaty, panting minute! I like that this DVD doesn't repeat moves. Each move is done for 1 minute and then you move on. and on. and on. Total: 30 mins.

Afterwards, I walked at about a 3.5 for 30 mins. on the treadmill. I felt I needed to do a little extra b/c I seriously had to STOP (drink!) or really modify my movements at a few points during the DVD workout.

How many DVDs do you have again?
