Searching

When I try to search for particular threads or posts I either get no results or too many to be useful. I think surely I must be doing something wrong because I see other posts by users telling other users to just search to find the post/thread in question.

Does search use boolean operators?

Does anyone have any tips that can help me search and actually get meaningful results?

Is there a thread that addresses it, searching, that I cannot find because I cannot search for it in a meaningful way?

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

KISS. Don't overcomplicate the search. Use the advanced search options and be moderately specific but not so much that you'll eliminate all of your options. Don't try the full title of the thread. Keyword searches garner better results. If you know the thread has been in existence for a couple of years it's probably safe to assume it has at least 25 posts and make sure to mark whether you are looking for key words in the posts or in the title and make sure that you actually use the correct words to do the key word searches. That helps.

I'm subscribed to well over 2000 threads, so it's often much easier to do a search than to try to go through my subscribed threads link. Muuuuuuch easier.

I can't remember what a Boolean operator is so I really can't help you there.

Time Shifting

Excuse me please,

I seem to be in a pickle. In my infinite wisdom I decided to alter the `time` to European in my...whatever its called....so it showed the time here when I was actually posting where I was....but now I have posted and my post showed up further back up the thread, not last post, I am showing up as posting before people that I actually posted well after....and I now I cant remember what `time area` was the default setting I originally changed it from, which I want to reset it to......:hamactor:

And if you can make any sense at all of this you are a star...any ideas ?

Utterly [ and easily ] confused, Daisy :bouquet:

Thank you in advance. :bunchflowers:

I think I may have solved the problem.......if this ends up as the last post......

Hi,

I don't remember how to close a thread, and I need to close this one:
Butch Femme Planet > MEMBER NEWS, ANNOUNCEMENTS, EVENTS > Special Events > BFP Holiday Card Exchange 2014

I started a new thread for 2015 already.

Thanks in advance,

thread needs a Notice

Hi Helpful Forum Person,

I screwed up when I started the Holiday Card Exchange thread. I had some procedural questions for folks, and there has been some discussion on the thread already. However, now when I posted the instructions for signing up, that (most important) post is not the first thing folks see - it's post #12, not #1.

Can you please put a Notice at the top of the BFP Holiday Card Exchange 2015 thread (like the one at the beginning of the "Daddy Girl Dynamic House" thread) so that when people open the window, it says something like:
Click here http://www.butchfemmeplanet.com/foru...9&postcount=12 to go directly to the instructions!

I'm also open to suggestions if you have a better idea.

Thanks in advance,
GeorgiaMa'am

Window's 10 Question

I've just installed the new Window's 10 into my computer and cannot figure out (yet) how to post a URL image here. I usually find what I need in "properties", but that element doesn't exist in this newer format, so I'm at a loss  Any help would be appreciated!

I set my account up to receive email notifications and I'm still receiving them but I can no longer click the links to open the individual threads and posts anymore. Is this something on my end? Thanks!

I can't see YouTube videos posted by myself or anyone else. This started shortly after Microsoft made me upgrade to Windows 10 and my tech suggested strongly that I use Windows Edge instead of Internet Explorer so it's been about 3 weeks now.

I see the boxes but they are solid black and I can't click on them or do anything other than quote the post to get the URL and then pull it up in YouTube. I have no issues with YouTube when I go on it. It's just the links and just on this site.

Any suggestions?

I'm having a problem with I had selected to get notification emails a while back to subscribed threads. Well I went a couple of weeks ago and selected no emails and I'm still being bombarded with way too many emails from certain threads. Anyone know how to stop the emails?

FYI: I'm using Apple products and I can see most videos, though I can't see videos that include any text to the left of the equal sign in the URL. Other than that, I can review videos on any of my devices using Safari or Firefox.
