I love spooky movies the cheeser the better.

I am hard of hearing but ppl should be very carful in whats said, cause I read lips pretty good.
I love the out doors.hopefuly one day one of these lotto tickets I buy will hit the jack pot (even a small one will do) so I can buy some land then build a bigo log cabin.
I speed read,I read Gone with the wind in 12 hours, even with breaks.

cara 05-24-2011 12:01 AM

Hmm...

1) I did not go to my college graduation because my parents didn't want to go and sit out in the middle of a field under the hot, summer sun. They said nobody really remembers their college graduation and it's all just pomp and circumstance (sp?) anyway. I regret that I let their underwhelming behavior towards what I feel is a very big accomplishment influence my decision to skip out on what should've been a happy, proud, and memorable day/moment for me.

2) I am scent sensitive and if I ever buy fashion magazines, the first thing I do is rip the perfume samples out and get rid of them as fast as possible. I do this at the doctor's office, too. I resist the temptation at friend's homes.

3) I can't think of 5 things.

Rook 05-24-2011 07:30 AM

-♦- I'm researching domesticated Skunks thoroughly, just in case I decide to adopt one...-grins-

-♦- I'm not much of a morning person, however, a cuppa café con leche with pan soba'o con mantequilla, and I'm content...add a small slice of queso de papa or ham....maybe both, at sunrise? My day will be made.

-♦- I'm not scared of bee's...or hornets..or wasps...or blackjacks, yellow jackets, etc etc. I'm petrified of their Venom, not because I'm some "pussy", I'm just not fond of anaphylactic shock, y'know? And I don't have an epi pen, so there's that...

-♦- I love motorcycles, but, I also like being comfortable, and I can't see myself being comfortable on a chopper, cruisin' around at 55 mph, in the dead of December...or January [in the continental U.S.], so, I wouldn't mind a good Jeep or VW of my choice...seriously.

-♦- When everyone's asleep..And I can't, rather than log on, or watch t.v., I'll sit by the Ferrets penthouse, and pat my side, have the Husky grudgingly trot over, and lay by my side, while I talk to them, the husky will rest his head on my lap and the ferrets will grant me a seriously bored glance from their hammock with a tired yawn....until I flash a treat{spoiled, i tell ya}, it's 10 x better than a Shrink, though.

uglyboi 05-24-2011 09:10 AM

I like to stand on people's laps.

I would love to see my abs but I don’t think that’s ever going to happen.

I was mugged once at knifepoint by a drug-crazed dude in my car and gladly gave him my wallet. When people asked why I didn’t fight him off, I explained that it wasn’t worth $4 to get my throat slashed.

I love Chobani yogurt.

One of my life goals is to sit down with the ladies of The View.

Gemme 05-24-2011 09:44 AM

Food!

Currently, I am eating what I call a Hulk muffin. It's huge, of course, dusted with big crystals of sugar and green. Pistachio muffins. HEB. Heavenly, I promise (unless you're allergic to pistachios and then it wouldn't be so....well, yeah, I guess you could say it would be Heavenly...if you've been good).

I tried the new Reese's minis that come in a little zip bag and are unwrapped. They are good but the bag is too small. It needs to be 4 times bigger, because...c'mon...if I want it so bad that I'm choosing the minis cuz I wouldn't have to waste time or chocolate on the wrappers, I want more than 8 ounces worth. Just sayin'.

Ebon loves me (and his life) very much. He didn't bat an eye as I filled a quarter of our grocery cart with junk last night. The remaining three quarters had all organic and/or generally healthy stuff in it. The cashier looked at me funny.

We met someone this weekend that knew quite a bit about American versus everyone else's way of producing milk and dairy products. We learned that our milk and cheeses in the US contain small amounts of puss in them. We are going to purchase organic milk and European cheeses from now on.

We learned about the cheese/milk fiasco while we were eating sushi. I don't have a weak stomach, but it did give me about a 10 second pause before I could finish my crunchy roll.

Bonus: I bought 2 packages of Mother's Macaroon cookies last night. They were on sale and I had a store coupon and so, I got them for more than half off! Happy cheap shopper dance!

:danceparty:

My ex husband's wife and i are very close. She sat beside me at my brother's funeral, we got a lot of stares. She is somewhat butch, to me, in appearance and in actions, poor guy i hope this one isn't gay too. Bless his heart.

I have a "thing" for straight lines and i don't like circles. My dishes are square and i try and buy square or rectangle tables ect...

My two favorite shows are "House" and "TAPS" and i tape them all the time and watch them over and over and over. Recently i've added "Sister Wives" to my most fav list and love that show too.

I hate to sleep. Always been that way. I feel like i'll miss out on something and to this day i usually have to be made to go to bed or i finally just fall over from being dead tired.

I've never climbed a tree. But, it's on my bucket list as well as touching a goat and a chicken both of which i'm petrified of.

I love circled plates and think that the square ones are harder to clean, but not as hard as the octagonal ones.

I, too, feel like I'm missing something or at least the opportunity to be doing something. However, I enjoy sleep far too much now. I think it's because I slept so little as a kid (mostly because of the whole abusive household and having to keep the nasties out of my bed thing versus the didn't want to miss anything thing though).

I've climbed a tree and I've touched chickens and goats. I like goats. Their pupils are sideways and that's kinda cool. You come here. I'll take you to the small rescue zoo. They have chickens and goats and even peacocks and a random orange cat that patrols the property. :)

House is awesome. I missed the season finale last night though. Ebon and I were watching what amounted to the worst movie we've ever seen. Well, technically it ties with Punch Drunk Love for the worst movie ever. It's called Backwash.

No fifth since I did a bonus last time.

(((((((Gemme))))))))) regarding your childhood.

If i ever meet a goat i'll try and keep my eyes open instead of closed with fear so i can see their pupils. Didn't know that. You know....goats scratch on my door at night when i'm trying to sleep? That's what wakes me up at night. They wear kettles on their heads and have acorns for teeth. This, yes, was a dream i had, but i've never gotten over it...apparently.

I'm impressed that you climbed a tree and i will be sure NOT to watch Backwash..ty for the tip ;)

*the left hand pocket of every one of my coats & jackets are filled with dog treats.

*i have (very) crooked pinky fingers.

*sometimes when i eat something with a lot of melted cheese on it, my eyes go all wonky (in & out of focus) and i feel like i am temporarily blind.

*i have "small world" experiences quite often, and i love them, they make me feel connected to something "bigger" and intangible.

*i read every jackie collins, danielle steel and sidney sheldon book published (pre-1986) before i was twelve. the jackie collins books i had to stealthily remove from my grandmother's bedroom bookshelf because they were considered "too risque" for a child. (& they were) i had *quite* the vocabulary in grade school.

Maybe you should start with these. It's hard to be scared of something that falls down a lot.

:)

These guys are pretty immature, but it does show the sideways pupil of the goat.

I am selectively Monk-like and am obsessed with symmetry.

When I was a child, I used to think if you took the "sleep" out of your eyes, you had to get up, because you couldn't fall back to sleep.

I have never seen The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

My first concert was Tom Jones (I wish I were kidding).

I have to sleep with a fan on...no matter what season.

You forgot to say that you can count to five in Spanish.

:cheesy:

Our a/c froze over today and it took us a few hours to notice as we silently bitched to ourselves that it was hot in here but not to one another and neither of us checked more than the thermostat for an issue. We're not smart today.

I hate my plumbing today. I wish I could rip it out and give it to someone who needs functioning plumbing.

Our fire extinguisher was recharged today.

I feel very 'off' today.

I'm also been very lackadasical today.

~I hate wearing shoes.
~I love flip flops. They're as close to not wearing shoes as possible.
~I may have a bone spur (or a hairline fracture) on my heel because of the above.
~I hate the word "hate".
~Lonely and alone are two different things. I hate one, but not the other.

Flip flops ARE the official shoes of Florida and Texas. You're just doing your state proud.

I've been completely lonely in a room with over a hundred people before. It's a very heavy feeling that I don't wish on anyone.

I, however, thoroughly enjoy being alone, so I understand.

Small amounts of what????

Oooops. Spelling snafu. Pus. From cysts that form in the udders as a result of mastitis. The farmers give the cows growth horomones and they cows get milked lots and they are most often pregnant and between the pregnancies and the milking, some cows get infections. There are actually rules defining how much can and cannot get in the milk for it to still be accepted and shipped out.

I found this on Google Answers.

Now, as for the “pus” finding its way into the milk ---

The milk collected from the cows is stored on the farm in a bulk tank.
The dairy farmer and inspectors routinely check this milk for
contamination before it is shipped out to be pasteurized for sale. If
it does not pass the test, it does not go out!

The contamination of the milk is measured in terms of the SCC –

“The SCC amount is the Somatic Cell Counts (number of white blood
cells …Leukocytes) per milliliter of milk (SCC/ml). A dairy industry
rule of thumb states that cows measuring less than 200,000 SCC/ml of
milk are considered healthy or not significantly infected with
mastitis. Cows measuring over 200,000 SCC/ml are considered infected
cows.”

That was the PER COW level. The BULK MILK level regulation is:

“Beginning July 1, 1993, the SCC level in milk quality regulations
must be less than 750,000 SCC to comply with the State and Federal
Pasteurized Milk Ordinance. A violation of the PMO makes the milk
non-marketable.”

June has one more thing in common with Corkey
the fan thing, it has to be on
I have adjusted:blink:

I love HK
I love handmade things
I always carry a tote bag
I would find it very amusing if I won the HK raffle (do you have to be there to win?) without being there.
I love HK

Pixie 05-28-2011 09:58 PM

1- I am tempted to win the HK prize to have said threat be carried out :P
2- Even though I will give it to Daddy June afterwards anyway
3- No milk no cream....no coffee
4- However I make an exception for Almond milk in my vanilla chamomile tea
5- Is drinking said tea as we speak!

moxie 05-28-2011 10:03 PM

1. I also sleep with a fan on year-round.

2. I am wondering why everyone is raining all over my Hello Kitty Raffle Prize parade?

3. I do not like milk, including when I was a kid. I will eat it on cereal and cook with it when it is called for in a recipe, but that is it.

4. I do not like hot beverages

5. I drive like a stereotypical grandma

starryeyes 05-28-2011 10:03 PM

Hmmm...

1. I am a twin

2. I have lost 50 lbs... still going!!

3. I am Gay of Gay.. (gay father).. yeah, that makes me super gay!!!

4. I have around 10 tattoos (depending how you count them)

5. I walked inside one of the great pyramids in Egypt!

Gemme 05-29-2011 01:11 AM

I now look for the "doesn't use growth horomones" label on the milk but I still buy it. Ebon refuses and tries to taunt me with 'milk pus' songs and smack talk. He has switched to rice and almond milk and is now trying to find a way to get a machine to help him make it at home. He's obsessed about this.

I will win the HK prize and have a wrestle off. Those of you who want it will wrestle for it for me. In jello. Peach flavored so it won't stain the skin so bad. There will be photos, but they will remain private. :cheesy:

I have turned into the 'air ON' person and Ebon is the 'air OFF' person. It's in his best interest if he wants to live to make sure that I don't sweat in my own apartment.

My feet are part lead. Move over, Grandma! Beep, beep!

You do NOT have to be present to win the HK prize, although I will be there. You may participate in the wrestling if you would like, ami.

Gayla 05-29-2011 01:27 AM

I sleep with a fan on all year round, with the window open all year round and with an electric blanket on most all year round unless we're having a heat wave and it's above 90.

I do not like milk but drank chocolate milk as a kid.

I will use milk or cream in my coffee although I rarely drink regular coffee anymore.

I'm a big geek but not when it comes to cell phones, digital cameras or GPS.

I also drive like someone's grandma. But not my own cuz she drove kind of crazy.

Gaige 05-29-2011 01:42 AM

1.) I can't dance

2.) I like trains and hearing the whistle off in the distance

3.) I prefer to sleep with my feet uncovered

4.) I only listen to political talk radio shows while driving

5.) I cut my own hair

dixie 05-29-2011 08:20 AM

I can't dance either.

I usually only get my hair cut once a year, although I do go to the salon for different colors, etc.

I prefer to sleep with a fan on year round because I like the "breeze" on my face.

I hate wearing watches and only do so if absolutely necessary,

One wall in my bedroom is covered in painted papyrus artwork from Egypt, another wall has artwork and metalwork from India, another has more modern, eclectic artwork, and the other is bare for now.

Sparkle 05-29-2011 09:33 AM

*I love to dance, but the music has to be "right"; I am often to be found "dancing" in my car - where the music is always "right". :)

*I used to eat fire.

*I am needle-phobic. Blood work, vaccines, giving blood, IVs, catheters etc. set me in to a heart-racing, cold sweat and floods of tears. (it is incredibly pathetic).

*Despite my phobia - I used to have several piercings, now all that remains are my ears. They used to be stretched to an 8g but damned if I can't get any of my 8g earrings in right now. And I don't want to face the taper needle this summer to stretch them again. :|

*I prefer sleeping with fans to sleeping with A/C. The chemicals A/C emits give me nightmares and make me sneeze (until I re-acclimate)

deb_U_taunt 05-31-2011 07:19 PM

I have too many house plants.

I love cabbage.

I have a hard time admitting we have a dog named 'princess'.

I have a large collection of nightgowns.

I swear too fucking much.

Mr Nice Guy 05-31-2011 07:33 PM

1. I'm funny
2. I love Italian food.
3. Pregnant women scare me.
4. I'm sensitive.
5. I love helping others find love.

PaPa 05-31-2011 08:17 PM

1. I prefer a cold bedroom. Warm blankets are a must with the exception of summertime when I simply use a sheet. The a/c at this time of year is set to 62. Ahhh comfort. I can breath.
2. I love to cook and others actually enjoy what I prepare. *Chuckle.
3. I strongly dislike early mornings and can be grumpy when I have not had my sleep.
4. I really miss going out into the wilderness and roughin' it....hiking, fishing, and such.
5. I am headed to Worcester, MA the third week of June for school. A little nervous about meeting classmates. We have never seen each other in real life yet.

dixie 05-31-2011 08:26 PM

I'm actually a very sensitive person eventhough I put on the lil miss badass act around most folks.

My feelings get hurt very easily, to the point I sometimes wonder if it's normal.

I have an online blog that I've had for years about my deepest, and sometimes most painful memories and experiences.

I can be very antisocial sometimes, to where I don't really like being around people for the most part.

There are few people that I deeply admire and look up to, but most of them are on this site.

Medusa 05-31-2011 09:42 PM

1. Sometimes when I get super tired and super stressed, I want to pound my fists on the table while shrieking "LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!" but I don't want to scare the dog and cat. :)

2. I reallllllly love gummy candy. Gummy lifesavers, those yummy artificially flavored peach rings, and even those gummy sharks.

3. I'm trying to convert the towels in my house: All oversized and white in the master bathroom and all sandy-beige in the guest bath. (I can't believe I still had a beach towel that I bought in high school!!)

4. My toenails have been continuously painted for about 15 years. (I know! I know!)

5. I've got 5 books going right now: 1 on the Kindle, 2 on the night stand, 1 in the bathroom, and 1 at work.

Ebon 05-31-2011 09:59 PM

1. I love nature and I believe that it contains everything we need to live, survive and thrive with/on.

2. I don't like talking on the phone(outside of work). I get bored with it after about 2 minutes.

3. I don't think that we are alone in the Universe but I also don't think that aliens would bother coming here because humans are not evolved enough.

4. I think that some animals are more evolved and more intelligent than most humans.

5. I don't like watching the news.

Linus 05-31-2011 10:01 PM

1. I cry when watching some cartoons (e.g., Bambi, Lion King, etc.)

2. I still don't have a driver's license

3. I went to 9 schools before I graduated high school

4. French is my mother tongue

5. I never smoke anything -- and I mean anything -- before age 37, when I smoked my first cigar.

pajama 05-31-2011 10:12 PM

1. I think my kid is super cool, and I kinda like doing music-ey stuff together and him sharing new finds with me and me sharing music fest finds with him.

2. I never watch the news or political depate of any kind.

3. I look out the window if I want to know what the darn weather is doing, not turn on the TV.

4. I usually don't give a damn what the weather is doing. Even when the syrins're (it's a southern conjunction, trust me) blaring.

5. I may be a little apprehensive about the upcoming move.

Gemme 06-07-2011 11:46 AM

I was in another thread and five came up and I thought of this thread, so...

5 was a very bad year for me and here are 5 reasons why.

1. I contracted whooping cough and almost died.

2. I had my first experience with being forcibly stripped naked, tossed onto a freezing metal gourney and covered with towels soaked in ice cold water, complete with an ice bath at the end. Multiple times. See number one for the reason why.

3. I experienced my first molestation. It was the only singular event and the only one perpetrated by my cousin.

4. My mother and much of my family smoked. I spent more time in the hospital that year than I did out, due to asthma, bronchitis, double pneumonia, walking pneumonia, and just plain ole run of the mill pneumonia.

5. I also had surgery on my kidneys that year. Yaaaay for not having to refuse to drink anything so I wouldn't pee so it wouldn't burn and hurt and make me cry and given IV fluids and then ripping said IV out and then being held down and forced to drink stuff and having to pee and being hurt and crying anyway any more. I went though that for two years before I was big enough to operate on. While I do know that the surgery was a good thing, the hospital stay was not. I clearly remember two of my hospital stays in my life, and not for good reasons at all, and that is one of them.
