Just curious as to what goes through peoples heads when they find out that you defriended them on facebook then they try to add you back as a friend.

What gets me is that I very, very rarely ever send friend requests to people, so when I do and the person just hits "ignore" I can't help thinking "well how rude" LOL |
I was reading yesterday about the new Google social site. Then I ran across this, which definitely made me think...lol

[IMG] Some how my company got access to this and we got to set up a profile. It's pretty neat so far but I can't invite anyone to sign up yet. |

I keep trying to graft shoots from the rose plants that my Grandmother had in her yard to one’s in my yard. Not working well! Phooey!
Her old house and property is in a town about 25 minutes from me and the current owners kept most of my Grandma’s plants- which is something because she died in 1972. They have let me take cuttings to try and do the grafting after I explained to them why I wanted to do this. Nice people. The good news is that an old rose variety popped out in my yard this summer just out of the blue! My house was built in 1940 and it has been amazing how many of the original plants have found their way back. Plants from generation to generation are different. So, I am thinking that this rose plant might be much closer to the old rose varieties of my grandmother and I might have better luck. Have to make a trip over to see if I can get more shoots. This is totally a mission of sentimentality for me. I had many good years helping my Grandma in her garden and going with her to the county fair with her roses. I think I just have gardening (both flowers and vegetables) in my genes. My Dad was a grand gardener and we had the best fresh fruits and vegetables during my early childhood. I helped him work in the gardens, too. I believe these experiences contribute to my needing a home-base, a home of my own and soil to create within and know that it is mine- or shared with a partner as owners. Renting is just not an option for me even when dealing with home ownership is a hassle. One of my nephews is an olive farmer and also produces olive oils. He was close to my Dad and he gave me 2 olive trees that he imported from the two areas that my Mom & Dad were from in Italy. He ordered and planted one of his orchards with these varieties to develop a new oil for his line. They have done well and he has put out an olive oil that he named after my Dad. I thought that was wonderful and warm. Interesting what we gravitate toward that is part of our childhood as we live this life and travel far from time gone by. Simplicty also has become a mantra. |

Every time I look at my local paper I find humor in it. Sometimes the humor comes from unfortunate misspellings and other editorial errors, but sometimes it comes from the types of police reports that are made public.
A man reported that vandals had been at work on Applegate Drive Saturday, leaving sardines in his mailbox. On Tuesday, a few blocks away on Cutter Ridge Road, a woman checking her mail found that here too vandals had struck, leaving the same pungent and tiny fish as their calling card. Police went to Regional Medical Center Monday to take a report from a 22-year-old female who said that a large group of girls beat her with a high-heeled shoe. On Tuesday one of the alleged shoe-wielding assailants, a 29-year-old woman, called police to say that this victim was out of the hospital and in a Family Dollar Store parking lot beating her 1994 Oldsmoblie Cutlass with a baseball bat. |
