Good morning kitchen dwellers :) and welcome Dapper! We're always happy to have more friendly folk join us....and the wicked good coffee has me convinced already :bringcoffee: We don't debate around here...just visit, eat, drink, be merry, enjoy our "stuck in the 80s" music...and occasionally indulge in a little friendly teasing :winky:

Freyja...sorry you missed dinner, but there are brownies left over (unless Scoote's been doing her midnight snacking thing :giggle: ....she's got a thing for a little chocolate in the middle of the night.

Musicman, thank you again for a lovely breakfast! I sure need it...and more :coffee: too....I'm moving a little slow here so far today.

We've had that same hot weather here in central NY...course we're not all that far from our Canadian friends. It's supposed to break and be cooler today. Scoote was teasing me about "the heat" since I'm moving to Florida. But, unlike Florida, we don't have air conditioning...so 82 outside is 82 in the house, except upstairs...where it's 90. :fan: Not that I mind...it's better than the :snowysmiley:

Okay...off to work a bit for me...gotta' clear my desk before I can enjoy the long weekend. Have a great day everyone!

and :stillheart: and :lips: for you baby....

Good morning, kitchen dwellers (f)

Enjoyed a leisurely morning with my husband before hy headed off to work, got my workout in, and now my baby and I are headed out the door to run a few errands (no work for Mrs. S on Fridays :) ). I need to go to her new school to sign her up for Little Engineers camp this summer and then hit the farmers' market to get some corn and whatever else looks fresh and good. And I think I'll take Miss K out to lunch today too :eating:

They are calling for a 30% chance of rain this afternoon and it has just poured here at home the last two days. I'm hoping we dodge the bullet so I can get some pool time in with Katie before I have to take her to gymnastics later this afternoon.

Have a great day!

Good evening kitchen dwellers :)

:bringcoffee: Fresh coffee is on for those that need a little evening lift...and we can have it iced if you prefer. It's still a little warm here :fan:

Dinner tonight is old fashioned fried chicken, corn on the cob, a nice green salad...deviled eggs for starters...and, for dessert, ice cold watermelon. I'll dig that big tub of Panda Paws ice cream out of the freezer for those that want something sweeter...and there might even be a few brownies left over, too.

My plans for the weekend are mostly about yardwork and having an open house...trying to lure in a buyer for my house. Anyone have anything fun planned?

:lips: baby...I know you're busy today, so I'll save dinner for you in case you're late :stillheart:

Good morning kitchen peeps,

It is first light and i am up with it - yes siree, nothing like watching the sun rise to make the beginning of the day spectacular.

i know Musicman will be by to make his famous Canadian breakfast for the gang, but i wanted to ensure we had a little pick-me-up music going.

This choice from 1987 was a big hit with me, way back then.
Yes, it's true, i was a George Michael fan all the way. Even went to his concert with my girlfriend.
Good times!

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Honies and Homies,

Sending you selling vibes today Jo Honey.

Breakfast is on, Eggs as you like them, crispy hash browns, bacon, ham, croissants, fruits, dips, cheeses, coffee, juice, COLD dr. Pepper for Scoote.

Might get some rain today and cool it off a bit.

Hope our American family has a safe and fun Memorial weekend.

freyja honey good choice of music this morning !

Musicman

JustJo 05-29-2010 07:24 AM

Good morning Freyja and Musicman...you two are the early birds for sure! :) Thank you for breakfast and more great music to start the day.

:bringcoffee: I'll put a fresh pot on for those who are sleeping in a bit...maybe some :tea: as well. And the oven just beeped to tell me the pumpkin bread is ready, so that's going on the table as well.

We have a cooler day today too...probably a good thing since we're headed out this morning to a little festival...sheep shearing, baby alpacas, sheep dog demonstrations and such...should be fun.

Then, it's back home to tidy up and get the open house started...thanks for the selling energy Music...we need it!

It's my sweetie's day off today, so hope she's still  ...just wish I was there to crowd her over to a sliver of the mattress, steal all the covers and snore in her ear :lips: :stillheart:

musicman 05-29-2010 08:14 AM

Hi Jo, you reminded me of a time when I had "company" in bed ;) I was dreaming of this guy on the street that had terrible breathing problems. He sounded almost asthmatic, really laboured breathing.

I woke up from the dream with the wife literally snoring in my ear. I thought i had gone deaf in that one ear. So... the guy in the dream with the breathing probles was the wife snoring in my ear.

OH the memories ;)

Hi Jo, no summer off Its internship time but I only have to do 180 hours so if I get it done in like two months then I am finished except for the one course that they give us. I hope you sell your house soon. I want to sell too but the timing is bad, might just rent and move to California anyway and start my life. Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Good times!

you know what is funny i remember reading a 1897 interview with Axl Rose where he named Faith one of the best albums of that year. i agreed but i suspected he was joking....if he was serious that is awesome

Musicman

it is funny to me that "Musicman" provides breakfast and freyja, who everybody knows is a kitchen wench times a hundred, provides music!

freyja 05-29-2010 07:47 PM

DC you are soooooo right in your observation.

Well, one day i came to Jo's kitchen looking for some coffee, there was this Butch at the back making breakfast. i was pretty impressed, not to mention he is very dependable!

So, we got talking about music one day (of course).
The next morning Musicman made breakfast and had music piped into the kitchen.
He did this time and time again. Then one day, he couldn't make it, and asked if i would step in as a sub, being as i was an early riser too..
And it just went on from there........

ps i have no doubt "Faith" made it as one of the best albums in 1987.
My question is: how many kitchen peeps bought the cassette, album or other?

Not sure about Axl, DC - that seems like another lifetime ago.
Mind you the 80's has revisited us. i wonder if vinyl will come back too?

Good morning Everyone,

Are you all already enjoying the Memorial Day Weekend? I went with a friend to my mom's hair salon yesterday and had more blonde highlights added and then went shopping for a few hours. I am throwing my oldest niece a Hello Kitty birthday party, and I found several things for her.

I am going to leave brunch this morning!!!

Have a good Sunday,

Zimmy
