Yes here in Texas they are pretty good but going to Mexico and getting them is even better.

Or have a Mexican American brother-in-law with his Grandma's recipes! He and my sister grow their own tomato's and peppers, sweet peppers, and peppers so hot that you have to use gloves and open the jar the dried peppers are kept in, pointing away from your face...lol. On Christmas Eve, we (I live with my sister and her husband... for now) we started a new tradition. We did it for my new nephew -in-law who wanted some traditional Mexican food. We made chicken fajita's, beef taco's, beef burrito's, Spanish rice, cheese enchilada's, chili and home made salsa, using Leo's Grandma's recipes for everything but the Spanish rice, I made that using my own recipe. Traditional tamale's, made with corn husk wrappings, will be our next venture when Holiday things and travel, settle down. I can't wait! :drool:

BBQ sausage and baked potato with the fixings.

A friend surprised me with lunch she made since we were meeting at her house for a work thing. She made a great salad with two types of kale, walnuts, cranberries, and a light salty dressing. She also made vegetarian meatballs with loads of mushrooms, grains, fresh herbs... was a treat!

I stopped at a little coffee shop just to get a bagel to hold me over through my workday but..

They had a sandwich special: smashed avocado with fresh tomatoes, feta, lemon juice and sprouts on your choice of bread. I got a ciabatta.

It was Mmm mmm GOOD. Everything just melded happily together. Who knew feta and avocado got along so well together?? The lemon juice just made it all sing a happy song. And sprouts.. are my long lost love. I have a sprouter, I just need to buy seeds. After rememebering why I love them so much...I think I shall..

I had a dirty chai just because I felt like it...

Its the little things in life that mean the most.

I had beer and cheese soup with a piece of buttered bread and a ginger ale to drink.

Turkey dinner at my sisters....with cottage cheese

HA HA ... it wouldn't seem like a meal unless there was cottage cheese involved!

Frito Pie sounds really good, will have to try that sometime. I skipped lunch but put a half a turkey in the oven for dinner. Smelling good now!!

I had Pho for the first time! And I loved it!
