The Switch

I loved Jennifer Aniston as Rachel in Friends. Havent been fond
of any of her movies until this one.

"An unmarried 40-year-old woman turns to a turkey baster in order to become pregnant.
Seven years later, she reunites with her best friend, who has been living with a secret:
he replaced her preferred sperm sample with his own."

It was cute, lil funny, sweet, and very entertaining.

SO....

I called my mom to say happy mothers day and she didn't seem her self. She wasn't quite happy to hear from me, acting aloof, and being slighty weird...

Thinking.. hmmmm haven't done anything to piss her off... talked to her just last week....

hmmmmm...

*So, what cha doing mom?*

*Eating grapes and watching TV*

hmmmm

What did you do today?

*Sat here eating grapes and watching TV*

hmmmmm

How are you feeling mom?

*oh... I'm good, feel good*

You're in the hospital, right?

*YES, but it wasn't my fault, I didn't do ANYTHING*

How long have you been in the hospital?

*Just since yesterday, and I get out tomorrow..., we think we have this figured out and did I tell you that I'm up to 94lbs? *

94 wow, that's wonderful, and you soun.... MOM... why are you in the hospital and what did you figure out?

Lololol...

She sounded like a kid with her hand in the cookie jar.... The Dr's think the have figured out what's going on... She goes into the hospital, gets high doses of steroids and gets better. She comes home, finishes her corse of steroids and three days later the COPD combinded with her alergies kick back HARD and her lungs stop working... It takes three days for the steroids to flush out of her system... They are going to try a low maintains dose of roids and see if that works...

She was so funny... She said that my older brother acted the same way that I did, and it wasn't fair because she couldn't get away with ANYTHING.....

Action Needed

Uganda is trying to pass a bill to kill all LGBTQ people there.
This is set to be decided in 72 hours.
This includes all people who are not Gay or Lesbian, who know of one and do not turn them in. They also will be arrested.

Please sign and pass it along to as many people and places as possible to help stop this!

This morning I encountered this black bear near my house. I was with two other women and we were watching it with awe and curiosity, sort of following at a distance. She was alone at the time. Suddenly she turned around, stood up on her hind legs for a minute, and then charged at us!

Now, I remember hearing somewhere that you shouldn't run from bears. Hmmm. It took us 3 seconds to decide to run to the nearest door of the house which was not far at all. Of course, I had to be like the girl in the horror flick who trips and falls at the worst possible moment. The main difference is that I got up immediately!

Shortly after, we discovered the reason for her angst. We were standing directly between her and her cubs! They soon disappeared but the mama showed up again later and took a swim in our pond!

Very exciting!

There was an article in the paper today about how the 3 members of the town council of my hometown, who were caught soliciting bribes and pleaded guilty to the charges, are now asking for leniency in their sentencing.

The reasons for their requests include: one who lost his professional license as a result of this and his business; another who has encountered severe financial losses as a result of this; and the last who ended up being hospitalized with severe depression and alcoholism.

Throughout this ordeal, I have yet to hear one of them say something like....I'm sorry for having abused the power of my office for my own personal gain or I'm sorry for abusing the publics trust in my character or I'm sorry for something other than the impact it has had on them.

I miss the days when people who pleaded guilty did so with remorse. And they stood tall, fully aware of and ready to accept their punishment for breaking the law.

I dont do well with todays whiney, wimpy corrupt politicians who behave like victims. Makes me want to double the appropriate sentence just so maybe the extra time behind bars will give them time to grow a backbone.

Mind Trick

This is a mind trick.

Think of a number.
Double that number.
Add eight.
Minus half that number.
Minus the number you started with.

Is the answer 4?

And not just politicians either....whatever happened to being able to say "I screwed up, and I'm sorry" and mean it?

I'm starting to think that the willingness to take responsibility - for one's mistakes as well as one's obligations - is one of the most critical defining characteristics in maturity.

The Siege [1998]

{look at the date, you'll shudder when the credits roll}

Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: Are you people insane? What are you talkin' about?
General William Devereaux: The time has come for one man to suffer in order to save hundreds of lives.
Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: One Man? What about two, huh? What about six? How about public executions?
General William Devereaux: Feel free to leave whenever you like, Agent Hubbard.
Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: Come on General, you've lost men, I've lost men, but you - you, you *can't* do this! What, what if they don't even want the sheik, have you considered that? What if what they really want is for us to herd our children into stadiums like we're doing? And put soldiers on the street and have Americans looking over their shoulders? Bend the law, shred the Constitution just a little bit? Because if we torture him, General, we do that and everything we have fought, and bled, and died for is over. And they've won. They've already won!
General William Devereaux: Escort him out.

=-=-=-=-=-=-

Elise Kraft: It's easy to tell the difference between right and wrong. What's hard is choosing the wrong that's more right.

=-=-=-=-=-=-

Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: [to General Devereaux] You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to a fair trial. You have the right not to be tortured, not to be murdered, rights that you took away from Tariq Husseini. You have those rights because of the men who came before you who wore that uniform. Because of the men and women who are standing here right now waiting for you to give them the order to fire. Give them the order, General.
General William Deveroux: Do you think that I would hesitate to kill you, or every Federal Agent in this room, if I thought it was in the best interest of my country?
Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: No, no, no, you wouldn't hesitate, I know that. But they might.
[motions to soldiers in room]
Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: [pause]
Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: Give the order. Make murderers out of these young kids, give the order.
[Deveroux is silent]
Anthony 'Hub' Hubbard: Give 'em the order, General!
[pause]
General William Deveroux: [Over his shoulder] Stand down, Sergeant.

Goooood Mornin', Ladies an' GentleMyn [Men too], I pulled this from a funny List I saw:

*I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

*Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

*I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

*There is great need for a sarcasm font.

*Was learning cursive really necessary?

*Bad decisions make interestingly good stories.

*Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blu-Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection - again.

*How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said? {My personal Fave}

*The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important....Ladies quit Laughing!

*And Finally -drum roll please- Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and maybe Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time.
