OMG. I am *such* a homebody! I am cleaning my space, simmering some delcious garlic redsauce on the stove, talking to the Mister, and listening to music.

The older I get, the more I enjoy being in my own space doing my own thing :praying:

HAHA!! You know? You would think so but nope, a super Virgo!

BUT, almost all of my family members are Cancers, my best friend in the entire world is a Cancer (25 years of friendship!), and my love is a Cancer.

So maybe all that good stuff rubbed off on me!?:moonstars:

Today I'm being taken out on a surprise date with my sister. She's taking me somewhere and I have no idea where!

CherryWine 11-04-2017 03:58 PM

An old friend decided to make a last minute trip into town, so I'll be Ubering it to go hang out with her and her brother. There will be margaritas and lots of laughter. :dance2: This will be my first time using Uber, too.

Did your parents not warn you about getting into cars with strangers? :|

I survived! I also left my keys in the first guy’s back seat which I didn’t realize until after 4:00am when the second guy dropped me back off at home. Had to call my dad to bring my spare key in the wee hours of the morning. Good times. :D

I really should just stick to being a hermit.

I read somewhere yesterday that an 56-year old woman who met someone from an Internet dating site was murdered by the person she met and broke up with. The person who killed her stalked her relentlessly online, at her place of work and called her on the phone at all times of the day and night.

So.... gosh, not only should people not get into strangers cars or date people they hardly know from the internet, but I think one should be extremely careful, even with meeting people in general. I hated to read about that lady losing her life to an bona fide lunatic who didn't like being told to stop stalking her.

Glad your dad came to your rescue and made sure you got home safely. :rrose:

It's a bit scary tho to know your key is out there floating around somewhere! It's not bad IF the first guy didn't check after you exited to make sure you didn't leave anything behind, (not sure how Uber works exactly) but if he is the one who found it and knows it's your, yikes not so good! Especially IF he picked you up right at your front door!

My surprise was seeing Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone being played with live orchestra playing the film score. It was so cool and a great sister date!!

I appreciate your and Kätchzen’s concern. I feel pretty confident that my security has not been compromised. My first experience with Uber has been a very positive one, aside from my own absent-mindedness, and while it’s not a service that I will frequently use, I won’t hesitate to do so again in the future...especially considering the way that they handled my leaving the keys behind.

There are certainly risks to using Uber, just as there are risks to hailing a taxi, and driving your own car.

And, yes, Kätzchen, my dad definitely came to the rescue. He is owed a homemade banana pudding at the least. :)

I have used Uber at least 5-6 times. The only problems that I ever had with Uber had was with one guy that could not find his way out of a paper bag, even with his GPS and a second one that accepted my ride but never showed up.

I have also had really bad USA taxi drivers.

The only exception to some negative taxi experiences was when I visited London. Those drivers are outstanding.

Per Wiki:

"The London taxicab driver is required to be able to decide routes immediately in response to a passenger's request or traffic conditions, rather than stopping to look at a map, relying on satellite navigation or asking a controller by radio. Consequently, the "Knowledge of London" is the in-depth study of a number of pre-set London street routes and all places of interest that taxicab drivers in that city must complete to obtain a licence to operate a black cab.

It was initiated in 1865, and has changed little since. It is claimed that the training involved ensures that London taxi drivers are experts on London, and have an intimate knowledge of the city and are the safest form of transport.

It is the world's most demanding training course for taxicab drivers, and applicants will usually need to pass at least twelve 'appearances' (periodical one-on-one oral examinations undertaken throughout the qualification process), with the whole process usually averaging 34 months, to pass."

What's everyone up to tonight? As for me, I'm just sticking around the house and doing some reading, catching up on correspondence, and perhaps watch a movie later this evening:movieguy:

Mopsie 11-18-2017 04:08 PM

I'm also hanging out at home. I will see what's on tv to watch and going to make some popcorn I think.

EnchantedNightDweller 11-18-2017 08:17 PM

Glad I'm not the only one at home. lol Feeling rested and peaceful with the cats. Teenager is quiet for now...

Bèsame* 11-18-2017 08:32 PM

I'm being singular tonight.

After work, I dropped off Chinese noodles and green tea to the working one. He was most appreciative. 😇 (Staying on the nice list)

I'm watching the two So Cali college teams go at it tonight.🏈🏈 It started out with a bang, and it's gotten kinda boring now. I might start rotating the channels.

And...I'm going to slowly find the ornaments to decorate this twinkling barren tree inside the house...🎄🎄

CherryWine 11-18-2017 10:18 PM

I'm being a complete lazybones at home and enjoying every minute of it.
