I started off all productive then I sat down for some hot chocolate and my kitty wanted to cuddle.
:rollcat: So far I have laundry going as well as a load of dishes. :laundryday: I need to cook food for the week - lunches will be Thai chicken over rice. :linecook: I would like to do some knitting but can't do that with the kitty on my lap. She thinks the knitting is a game with yarn. :ballcat: |
I strung up some lights on the railing out back. ( the lights look like flames, so maybe it will look like candles??)
Hung up two wreaths, one with lights, one with out. Wrote a couple of handwritten notes to a dear friend and a sweet cousin. Laundry is spinning as we speak. I plan to: finish up the rest of my holiday cards, make a couple of pillowcases, window shop online, and visit the store with many fruits and vegetables. I'm hoping an idea for dinner comes soon..lol |

I’m working my double shift today, but tomorrow only have to do the 3pm-11pm shift. The 11pm-7am shift I can skip since I have to use my personal Day by the end of the year or I will lose it. So I’ll be on here Sunday night for sure!!!:cigar2:

Going to work, to face those last minute shoppers. You know who you are, gift card purchasers, I don't care what it is, size? Oh about your size...
I'm going in earlier than yesterday, so I will miss the traffic and trains. Yesterday afternoon, I had lost my Christmas spirit. How can it be 82 degrees? I don't have "summer" winter clothes. But that Holiday spirit quickly returned just as quickly as that cold front arrived! And...long winded...WiFi and cable connection back in business, after a long week. Happy happy! ! |
Picking up a few last minute gifts. Need some little trinkets to put in a gift box for my daughter - I'm thinking Ulta. And must stop at Petco to get essential dog and cat toys and treats. And Half Price Books just happens to be next door...

Work, for 48 glorious hours. Traffic sucks and people are driving like assholes, which has made for a very busy day thus far. If you’re traveling for Christmas, please don’t endanger your life or someone else’s. If you’d like to see your friendly first responders, feel free to stop by our station, rather than having us come to you on a congested roadway.

We're going out for lunch to either a teriyaki place or Chinese restaurant depending on which is open. Then off to shop the thrift stores. Next stop - picking up a few last minute groceries. With so much shopping being done online these days the stores here aren't as crowded for last minute shoppers. Even if this year proves different we have everything we need, nothing that can't wait till after the holidays save for milk. I have canned but seriously unless it's world war three we're hitting Grocery Outlet in the hood and just paying the buck extra we shouldn't have to. Then it's over to my oldest son's to place to watch holiday movies on the big screen.

I’ll be spending the day with my parents and big brother watching Saints football, cooking, eating, drinking, and being merry. My dad will make a big pot of seafood gumbo. Tonight, we’ll probably ride around and look at lights.

Okay, so cooking is a rather new endeavor for me. At a restaurant in Chicago recently, I ordered a white chicken chili dish. WOW! so tasty. Purchased all the ingredients and will be experimenting with this new recipe all day.

Kent, my daughter, and I will be spending the evening with my parents. Hopefully there will be no awkward, passive aggressive comments or actions from my parents. They don't mean any harm. They are just holding on to hope that I will turn straight. Lol I just try to smile politely like I do to all my "church folk" friends.
On a lighter note, we are having ham and chocolate pie from Swiss Bakery and opening presents later. Presents at home will be opened in the morning. :santa1: |
