Startrails over Galway
 

Conor Ledwith took this image at Connemara, County Galway, Ireland a few days ago. The remote control was locked in the ‘on’ position while Ledwith light painted the tree and continued through the fields; there is a silhouette in the image of Ledwith light painting the hillside.

The finished result is a total of 89 images at 30-second exposures ISO 3200, f2.8. Ledwith used a Canon 5Dii, with the Canon 16-35 lens.

Ella Fitzgerald was not allowed to play at Mocambo because of her race. Then, one of Ella's biggest fans made a telephone call that quite possibly changed the path of her career for good. Here, Ella tells the story of how Marilyn Monroe changed her life:

Bug Bling
 

Caddisfly larvae build protective cases using materials found in their environment.
Artist Hubert Duprat supplied them with gold leaf and precious stones.
This is what they created.

It had a wet diaper... so, I hung it up to dry...

I love would to visit some place like that to stay on vacation! It looks pretty fun.

Pride Ants!!!
 

Mohamed Babu from India, captured these amazing pictures last year after his wife noticed that ants turned white when they drank milk.

He dissolved sugar in food colouring solutions of red, green, blue and yellow and then placed them in his garden to attract ants.
Some of them even moved between the different solutions, resulting in psychedelic colour combinations.

Snow Tunnel
 

These tunnels form under the snow fields in deep ravines at the end of the summer thaw near Mutnovsky Volcano in Russia. Meltwater flows through glaciers towards lower elevations, finding an outlet at the terminus of the glacier and carving the ice on the way.
