some days the list is just too long to type out

today was one of those days

however, being sent to the grocery store for a piece of fish and a peach, when I had gone to the store the day before, and the day before that, and the day before that and the day before.. REALLY pissed me off. especially since I was sent during "out of church" time.

Personally, I like getting out of the house and away from clients for a time. Its like having a break. Plus, I get some of my shopping done...its like getting paid to shop :)

I do enjoy getting away from her nagging (she's a nagger big time) but I can't do my shopping. She sends me to Central Market, which is the single most expensive grocery store we have. Items there are 2-5 times more expensive than our grocery store (she's snobby). However, when I have to go to H-E-B (our grocery store) I definitely get some grocery shopping done.

Its mostly the time she sends me. Central Market is ALWAYS jam packed at the time she sends me, and the way they have the aisles set up it's not consumer friendly. Not to mention the driving around just to find any parking space.

I think it was mostly the fact the I had already been 5 times that week, PLUS she even pays someone to do her grocery shopping, and that person did the shopping on Monday.

Even more so, apparently the morning care giver cannot cook and on Mondays and Fridays I'm off so the morning person works her shift and mine (12 hours). So because she cannot cook, I'm left cooking not only the day that i'm there's food (which on sat and sun is a 12 hour shift) but the next days food because I wont be there.

so I had bought th e fish... why couldn't I have gotten it the day before, or better yet, why couldn't the day person for today gone and got it???

all she had me do to it was quirt lemon and put parsley on it.. that's it... you're telling me the day person couldn't have done that?!?!?!?!

it gets really frustrating that I do double work for other peoples inabilities.

Hurrying up just to be forced to wait.

I for went coffee to be to the office early, then found out the client's key is missing. Now my entire day will back slide 30 minutes or more...and I still have no coffee!

Cailin 04-22-2015 10:24 AM

People wanting OUTRAGEOUS pet deposits AND excessive pet rent ON TOP of the pet deposit. Its one or the other, don't double dip, you greedy ass!

cinnamongrrl 05-06-2015 02:43 PM

meh.

Work did...

I was asked by my boss to come by the office to pick up supplies for the girl I was partnered with today. I left home an hour before I needed to to do this. When I got there, the girl was there getting her stuff. I could have stayed home and got some stuffs done....like yoga...

THEN...

we get to the job and the same girl had to leave for a time...and then come 2 o' clock she tells me she just has to leave period

This is HER regular house...she is training me on it to take it over. I pitched a mini fit and she stayed but....geez

Possibly getting shingles! My lymph nodes are very swollen and infected and I have what looks like bites on my scalp. I do not like being sick and it pisses me off.

Gemme 05-17-2015 04:58 PM

There were only a handful of people in the theatre for Age of Adaline today and one woman had the audacity to check her voicemail at the maximum volume level and didn't understand why I would turn in my seat and ask, "Seriously?"

The movie had already started at that point.

Thankfully, so put it away after that but c'mon now. Not only do they TELL you onscreen, more than once, to silence your cell and not to text but it's common sense and common courtesy, which that lady
obviously lacked.

Hominid 05-17-2015 05:06 PM

Having my debit card digits stolen and thousands of dollars meant for rebuild and house expenses gone. I hope to straighten it out tomorrow, but it's going to be yet another massive pain in my ass. My ass is too skinny for this many pains in it.

Smiling 05-28-2015 01:30 PM

Okay, so....

There was really no need to call someone a goddamned thug just for doing their job and then proceed to lecture them on the all the ways their cartel...ahem, I mean "company" exploits people for greedy and unchecked financial gain.

Even if said company is - and they are - guilty of grossly overcharging for something that is a human right and therefore not only should be accessible and free of charge to all, but also places an unfair financial burden on those of less means, there are more productive ways of dealing with your outrage, lol.

(You know, even if they can charge whatever they want because they are a totally illegal MONOPOLY and the only viable alternatives are completely financially out of reach to a person even of average or slightly above average income - and even if said monopoly is run by the company (who is also the city government) who also controls the ZONING and PERMITS and therefore can restrict any alternatives in order to protect their CONFLICT OF INTEREST).

So even if I wasn't "technically" incorrect, I still behaved like a pedantic, condescending, sanctimonious ass today. And I can do better than that. But, I didn't yell; I never even raised my voice!

So that's something, right?

C0LLETTE 05-28-2015 04:47 PM

I'm pissed off at whoever pissed off Smiling... though I'm also grateful to them cause they led her to write that extremely funny rant.

It would be swell if my boss could actually write an email where I didn't have to ask 3 other people to try to interpret what he is asking. It would also be great if he could interpret my own email to him that was written in very plain and simple English.

I swear it is like communicating with an alien sometimes. It's even worse when we are face-to-face. We mostly just stand there blankly staring at each other trying to figure out what the hell the other just said.

I don’t know if your organization would be open to this, but at my job we took some assessments that helped us communicate better. Didn’t solve all the problems, but it made working with each other easier. We have the exact problem you describe: we sometimes feel like we're speaking with aliens when communicating with teammates. And these are people who thoroughly understand the English language—written and spoken.

Every member on our team at work took a DiSC Profile assessment to understand each other’s style of communication. This assessment is usually used in leadership development, but we took the test to be able to better communicate with each other.

Our team took the assessment and put the results of each person on a large board, posted it where everyone has access to it, and we consult it when necessary. We ask that new members take the test, too.

I think it’s only used as a last resort after you’re frustrated with someone (and we sometimes chuckle when we see someone consulting the chart because we know they’re probably frustrated or maybe even pissed off). But, on the whole it helps. For instance, I know who appreciates my direct way of communicating and I know when I need to have my filters in high gear. I also know and understand that someone who’s analytical may communicate differently than me.

It, or something similar, may be worth checking out if your company has a budget for training. It won’t solve everything and not even most things, but it could be helpful.

Good luck, CherryWine.

Orema, it's funny that you mention the DISC assessment. After some very unprofessional behavior by a supervisor toward a member of the "the powers that be," our entire team was required to take a communications course that included the DISC assessment.

It has probably been about 7 or 8 years since the course, but oddly enough I remember that my boss and I scored the exact same (I couldn't remember what I scored, so I just took it again online and got CDS). Considering we scored the same, you would think that he and I would be able to communicate a little more effectively with one another. However, most everyone (there are 11 of us) in the office has complained about having to decode his emails and having to ask him to clarify himself repeatedly.

That is a fantastic idea about posting everyone's results on a board where we could easily access them when need be. I may actually take this suggestion to our next staff meeting. We have some new members who have joined the team since we last took the assessment, so it would be helpful to understand their style of communication and for them to understand ours.

Many thanks for the great advice, Orema!

I took that at my job too. It didn't tell me anything new about myself but it did give me insight into my coworker, which helped smooth any rough edges that popped up from time to time.

The nerve of a few family members thinking they know how to take care of my mom better then I do.. They dont take care of their kids why do they think they can take care of my mom.. If it wasnt for my mom & myself their kids wouldnt eat most of the time.. They have money to go to the bar or sit out back & drink but cant feed their kids... Ill stay quiete for only so long... Not a happy camper right now...

cinnamongrrl 06-01-2015 04:33 PM

meh....

it's been a day...

I really HATE when my agency books my clients sooo close together that I only have time to drive from one to the other....

I ended up working 9-530 with no break at all except for the 25 min drive between clients. I'm so glad I thought to make a sandwich. However, my last client took an hour longer than scheduled and I did not make it to the bank. Which means, I have no money and I'm driving on fumes as it is. I'm too tired to make anything substantial for dinner so I'm having tater tots.

I'm actually too tired to be too vehement about any of this. I want a shower and my fucking jammies..stat.

Ohhh yes and being late at the client's meant driving home in 5 o'clock traffic in a torrential down pour. Yay.fucking.me. Time for a beer by golly...

AND

I totally forgot that today was one of two days a MONTH that I work near a dunkins and I already got coffee and it'll be 2 weeks now before I'm back out there...sigh...the universe hates me. At least I didn't put laundry out before I left for work.....yippeee

Gemme 06-01-2015 07:21 PM

I knew it was going to be bad when I went in today but there was not. one. single. thing. he. touched. that. wasn't. fucked. up. in. some. way.

Not.

One.

Thing.

I literally spent half the day repairing the mess.

I have 9 days off in June and he's scheduled to work all of them.

I need to talk to his boss about either forgetting about some of the days or her coming over instead but this is what I am up against:

Me in text: ....there's an 8:45am conference call Wednesday. I know you're off now, so I thought I'd let you know....

Her response: I think I'm working Wed.

Her next response: I'm off today.

Well, no shit, Sherlock. That's what I just freakin' said!

They are a pair of book ends.

It's been a particularly rant-worthy week and while I typically would happily indulge those of you who enjoy that sort of thing (ahem - I'm talking to you, COLLETTE :winky:), I'm already a few gasses of pearl sake in tonight and I have strict rules about posting while under the influence.

Too bad because I feel a rambling manifesto...lol, I mean a "Pulitzer Prize winning piece of literature" coming on!

cinnamongrrl 06-09-2015 03:19 PM

I've long suspected that my former roommate kept a key to the house...I have come home and noticed things that were just "off".

Well....

He finally came and got some of his things out of his old room and I wanted to test the theory. I locked BOTH doors and he got in just fine. I asked his girlfriend about it and she said the back door wasn't latched all the way....ohhh reallyyyy.

SO they came back a second day for more stuff....and I DOUBLE checked the door and made sure it was latched. They STILL made it in. Today, I came home and my TV was on a channel I never use....

Hmmmm

My landlord is changing the locks tomorrow. One of the reasons I Know he's been here is because he smokes in the house and I can smell it when I walk in.

SOOO NOT COOL.

Barb42 06-15-2015 03:20 PM

The fact she cant/wont be honest with me.. Is the truth so hard..

My great grand boss just offered me a $7K bonus to do about 300K worth of work. Do they think I am just stupid?!?

JDeere 06-15-2015 06:48 PM

Her attitude about a topic we discussed.

cinnamongrrl 07-03-2015 05:41 PM

well....

I've had a certain cell phone provider forever...and I've found their customer service severely lacking so I decided to look elsewhere.

My friend suggested a provider called Cricket so I googled and sure enough they are in Asheville. Yesterday I went after work to Tunnel Rd to find the place and drove up and down, to and fro and never found it. Went home and found out it was actually SOUTH Tunnel Rd...doh..

Sooo....

Today after work I went up and down SOUTH Tunnel Rd...to and fro....Never saw it. It occurred to me they may be at the mall. I went in and checked their map. No Cricket. Asked a cashier at Sears. She said they had a kiosk in Best Buy down by Penneys. Drove down there (since my poodle was with me) ask at Penneys where the Best Buy was. She tells me Best Buy is the next Mall down the road. :|

In my car again to look for Best Buy. The phone person is busy but I saw no Cricket signs anyway.....sooo I ask at customer service...they say they don't have a Cricket kiosk...but there is a small Best Buy mobile...where? At.the.MALL...

BACK in my car finally find the kiosk in the mall...I'm waiting in line..both the employees are busy. A woman randomly walks in and one of the guys leaves his customer to help her. :| I had been waiting there like 10 minutes...never.said.a.word. Apparently I look like a less viable customer...

They ALSO had no information about Cricket ANYWAY so I up and took my unviable ass out of there. 2 hours of my life. Wasted....

Blade 07-03-2015 06:31 PM

Traffic.....you people are idiots! You are stupid, inconsiderate, disrespectful and a danger to society and yourself. And Im not leaving the house the rest of the weekend!

cinnamongrrl 07-17-2015 09:54 PM

Well...

I've been waiting for 2 weeks for my landlord to put in an overhead light in my bedroom....

He planned it and never showed several times. Each time he SAID he was going to be here to do it I prepared my bed by covering it in the big plastic bag that I got my mattress in....

so....

He comes by today. Unannounced, unexpected and finally puts the light in. He had told me not to worry about my bed, that there would be no mess.

I found small pieces of debris here and there...no big deal...but THEN I found what looks like bbq sauce on the edge of my coverlet. It is huge. I'm going to have to take it to the laundromat and it will have to visit the dryer...which I hate using....

Sigh (w)

JDeere 07-17-2015 10:01 PM

Her attitude as of late but I chalk it up to stress.

Gemme 07-18-2015 06:14 AM

The more and more I think about something, I realize that things might not be what they seem to be. I think I am the victim of discrimination in the workplace and that thought really sucks.

Blade 07-24-2015 03:23 PM

My boss announced today that we would begin coming in at 6 am starting Monday. This crew has worked 5-2 for the last 3 years. I have been starting work at 5 am since 1994.

I know it sounds silly that this pisses me off, but that one hour makes a big difference in what time we actually get off. We are never guaranteed to get off at 2pm. If we work 9 hours and get off at 3 we are stuck in school traffic for 30 minutes of stop and go traffic before we get to the crossroads. If we get off at 4 we get tangled up in the other industrial plants traffic, which isn't as bad as the school traffic. If we work until 5 well everyone knows about 5 oclock traffic. And here is the kicker, if we have to work 12 hours and work 6 am to 6 pm, that sucks all the way around. In winter you go to work in the dark and go home in the dark. In summer ya don't get home until 7 pm and there isn't much time for doing outside stuff mowing gardening canning etc before it is time to eat dinner, shower and go to bed.

I don't know it just messes up my "norm" for the past 21 yrs. I don't do well with change, unless it is change for the better and there is no reason given for this change. OK I'm done ranting now.

Gemme 07-24-2015 06:18 PM

I fell on my ass today and busted up my foot.

Dumbass.

Blade 07-24-2015 07:20 PM

Now what really pissed me off

While looking around the yard for eggs I turned over an old doghouse lid and a wasp got after me. I killed the little monster but not before he stung the bejesus out me. On the wrist, sore as a muther duck feels like his stinger went to the bone. But guess what? There will be NO MORE wasp nest on the property tomorrow.

Pissed me off and well ummm almost made me cry but don't tell nobody cuz, big boys don't cry big boys don't cry LOL

Pompous, arrogant, and unfriendly *dare I say it* humans?

Smiling 07-28-2015 05:22 PM

The goddamned not-quite-a-mosquito-but-definitely-something-in-that-genus that keeps relentlessly landing on me everywhere and biting me to shreds!

My relaxing tea interlude is definitely over now. I'm on the warpath; this bug must die.

cinnamongrrl 07-28-2015 06:03 PM

I use a reusable bag for shopping...it's Asheville...every one does...

WELL...

I get to the checkout and take everything out of said bag
and put it on the counter and hand the cashier the bag.

He asks if I want my stuff in the bag....I didnt bring it for nuttin

I say yes please and he replies "great. I can just handle everything 6 times"

REALLY??? I always offer to bag my own stuff. He said no...I'm doing something good for the planet. All you have to do is NOT BITCH!!

*end rant*

cinnamongrrl 07-30-2015 05:51 PM

Well...

I decided I really hate getting a nasty styrofoam cup when I get sweet tea at McDs...

So I took my big tall Patriots cup in and ordered a large tea and said I didnt need a cup...the kid behind the counter told me I needed to pour tea into a styrofoam cup THEN pour it into MY cup... :seeingstars:

I told him that defeated the purpose...duh....

So his manager says its fine...the spigots for the tea sit way up...they wont touch my cup anyhow...

I finally get over to the tea station after debating congress and theres a lady replenishing lids etc...she sees my cup and tells me I cant use it. I tell her the manager said I could...she then tells me Im going to have to pay for the tea...no really??

I tell her Ive paid already and she mumbles something....

Im trying to do a good thing here folks!!! Frick and frack....

*end rant*
