Kenna 11-03-2011 05:04 PM

this is gonna bore you all to tears...

(I could have had all this done by 10am, but because of IT issues, I dallied a bit...)

finished my Open Enrollment stuff (after reading a very confusing and poorly written Benefits Package)...was thrilled that because I make less than a certain amount, I qualify for $150 FSA Credit that I can use to buy Rx's or pay co-pays, etc, next year.

Helped Children and Youth update their Vaccines For Children info and Immunization materials... (got invited to facilitate a Lunch N Learn next week to present VFC and recent updates to vaccine recommendations to Social Workers and Caseworkers...)

Registered for a Writing Workshop for HealthCare Professionals (convinced boss to pay for it out of my annual allotment :cheesy: )

Clarified a policy on doctors charging Medicaid patients for No-shows...

After several emails and one failed attempt at a phone call: Scheduled a meeting with Workforce Relations to discuss a transfer to something comparable to my skills and education...

Had a long talk with a rather presumptuous NCare Manager about "Building Bridges, Building Relationships [with clients], Discovering Barriers and Resolving Barriers"...

Educated a large group about changes to the Energy Assistance Program...

Advised another NCM on how to get a "medically fragile child" a special hospital bed paid for by their DME Coverage and the Program Exception path for medical necessity... got the good news that "as soon as the forms are done, they will get it!!"...

Facilitated a "Quality Improvement" discussion, FAQ session with a Head RN about our efforts to increase Access to Care to Dental Providers and Dental Preventive Health...advised on which materials are for what audience [providers or patients], clarified what it means to "not get caught in endorsing...", and supplied new materials to the Well Child Clinic Staff...

Educated a few staff on available Influenza Vaccines and what it means as "Thimerosal free"...

Out of curiosity, called the Hospital to find out if they would honor our Employee Health Free Vaccines... Scheduled my own flu shot now that I'm nearly over this awful chest cold...sent an email out to staff, notifying that for those who live in this county, free flu shots are available at a previously unknown/unavailable location...

submitted my payroll...

spent about an hour reviewing/analyzing various policies...

worked on a Resource list for our Nurses...

placed a maintenance request for a broken sink...

and didn't get any production done because of the above and because of IT issues....

To be honest.... it took me longer to post this than it did to accomplish all that, because I had to sit here and think about it...

Daywalker 11-03-2011 05:14 PM

I made a stoopid lamp for the Rock planter out back.

RockOn 11-03-2011 06:42 PM

corrected a connectionstring in a webconfig file ... working on an install and have absolutely no clue what I am doing. If employer did not provide an msdn subscription and www.oracle.com did not exist, I would be so lost ... I will be so happy to finish this and get back to coding. I find myself impatient. I don't wait well. Sorry ... these mostly 10 hour days at work lately are making me a bit cranky.

My big accomplishment today? I avoided the mandatory hallway huddle at work when the tornado sirens went off around 10:40 a.m. - it gets terribly hot with everyone crammed together. I had left to do some errands. I was driving around with a CHICKENFOOT cd blasting through the speakers with it raining like hell. The skies became very dark (my first clue, duhhh) so I turned off the cd to try and find weather on the radio. That's when I first heard the sirens. I immediately did a U turn and headed home to be with Kelly and Kevin. Those two furfaces were not concerned at all when I rushed in the door. HEH HEH! I made them get in our hallway ... we did our huddle with pillows and blankets. It felt a little dicey for awhile but no harm done.

The reason it was such a big deal (accomplishment) for me is because at work, I ALWAYS end up stuffed against a stinky person ... I am talking awful body odor. Bad hygiene is not acceptable! :(

ruffryder 11-16-2011 10:48 PM

more applications.

tazz 11-16-2011 10:52 PM

hope tomorrow is better :( :(

***where do you live that tornadoes occur?

kannon 11-16-2011 11:01 PM

I finished my methodology exercise.

It feels so good to have that off my shoulders.

Kobi 11-17-2011 08:00 AM

Have been up since 4 am. Have cleaned everything I can clean, polished everything that can be polished. Paid Bills. Ran a few errands. Threw out trash.
Changed the toilet seat. Wrapped a/c's for the winter. Covered the deck furniture.

And just when I thought I had run out of things to do.....I dragged the Xmas boxes out of the attic. The tree is up and decorated!

Maybe now I will just head to the beach and walk off the rest of this excess energy.

Queerasfck 11-17-2011 08:39 AM

  1. Did my workout at the gym
  2. got gas
  3. walked the dogs
  4. showered, shaved, sh*t
  5. adjusted my fantasy football roster
  6. made my lady's lunch & mine
  7. ate breakfast

    And it's only 6:40am here..........

Gemme 11-17-2011 10:41 AM

I have gotten laundry underway with the sheets and towels in the dryer and the comforter in the washer. Breakfast is nearly finished and I have gotten our new zipping mattress cover on. I unloaded the dishwasher and I've spoken with my coworker about her duties for the day and, just now, I have bitten the shit out of my lower inside lip.

Just when things were going well....

Daktari 11-17-2011 11:19 AM

  • Got up before lunch-time ...yup that really is an achievement some days.
  • Participated fully in todays Pulmonary Rehab session
  • Went over ideas for the two most pressing assignments with Carol
  • Managed to clarify an issue at the Doctors surgery
  • Tempted the Fag Father out for a cocktail (when he gets into town) as he's had some really bad news today about his job.

Kenna 11-26-2011 01:29 PM

picked up a truck load of FREE windows...

made a deal with the lady that gave me the windows for a NICE Frigidaire flat-top range/oven for $50.00... it just needs cleaned up a bit. (she could have gotten 3 times or more for that!! HAPPY DANCE) I LOVE flat-top stoves!

Stopped by auction, found a HUGE bookshelf with big baskets that would go very nicely in my laundry room and as linen/towel storage.... hope it goes CHEAP tonight! (too bad they didn't have an infrared heater) Checked out a washer...turned my nose up at it because the drum seemed too wobbly.

Called Landlord to ask if he minded me bringing in my own stove?.. (his is an OLD one that I'm afraid of the burners) he volunteered to go pick up the new stove and pull out the old one!! HAPPY DANCE!! (YAY! I don't have to load that puppy on/off a truck!)

Went back to town to pay lady and make arrangements for pick up.

Came back home... and built half my greenhouse while Blade crashed out from being so sick. HAVE POWER TOOLS, WILL BUILD!!! found I'm missing flat brackets...can't get it finished till I have them. ... but DANG those huge glass doors are HEAVY... at least I accomplished getting them braced together to make the central frame. Hopefully, it will look very similar to the picture below when I'm done... (I LOVE building things!! the finished product makes me feel so good!!)

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_5JJkKxGjI...greenhouse.jpg

I'm worn out... all the other windows (24 total) must wait till tomorrow when I've got flat brackets and more energy!! .... my next job today is laundry!!

(It feels AWESOME to work on the greenhouse and to feel plans come together for the new house... stove and all!!)

Wow. You have been busy today!

And to think all I did was:

1) take my dog for a walk around the block

2) drive through Taco Bell

3) Take my neighbors' picture for their Holiday card.

I am planning on doing some paperwork for my job, however. Might take the dog hiking, too.

ONLY 11-26-2011 02:39 PM

Had coffee and some conversation with my girl
Cleaned our bedroom

Going organic!

Walked dog at 6:30
Had triple espresso with half and half while reading my emails
Ate breakfast on the deck (it is sooo beautiful in NYC today): omelette, grilled whole wheat with Comté cheese, half an avocado, and a glass of organic carrot juice
Put the finishing touches to 9 children knitted hats for a store
Went to the Union Square Christmas Market which is already open and bought a children's book (signed by illustrator)
Went to the regular green market there and got 10 lbs of pears at $.80 a lb to make my famous spicy pear chutney
Got home and walked the dog, spent time talking to a neighbour who had been out of town for a while and is back
Had laundry picked up and delivered
Right now having tea which I will take to the deck (it is a bit colder now, but still lovely enough to sit outside!)
Later I plan to walk to a little market which opened near me where craftspeople are selling their wares (they are having music and snacks to open the Christmas season)
