Thinking about my life as it is now and how I want it to look in 2012. What needs to change, what needs to cotinue to be and how the news Ideas could manifest in reality.

I have 200+ performance review prep documents to send out, and have to transfer last year's performance objectives onto this year's performance review sheets. I've only been at it for two days, and my hand is already turning into claw thanks to non-stop use of the copy-paste keyboard function.

With the messages we are teaching our kids today. Was Rudolph bullied? Is this how we treat our friends?
I've been listening to this debate for a little while now, on talk radio. I've concluded it's gone one COUCH to far. Why can't Rudolph the Red nosed reindeer, just be the innocent Christmas story it was intended to be? |
I'm trying to figure out how to make my daughter realize that she's 14 and not 24, without her hating me for the next 10 years...sigh.

Drove my BFF to the hospital today. Nothing like asking a loved one, "you wore the shoes without laces this time, right?" before coffee... I love her. I hate that her brain is sick. I hope she gets well. And soon. I miss having someone to talk to. And on really selfish note, mostly, I just want to not have to deal with her mother. If the hosebag she-monster upsets her suicidal daughter one more time, I may lose my temper and get ugly... seriously. :(

That i will always find ways to pay it forward.. i will always want to make a difference.. That knowledge gained can be shared, no matter how difficult - because while the hard stuff isn't always easy to put out there, the sense of inner peace received from appreciation of another, makes it all worthwhile. Also, with the holidays on their way, my mind constantly leans towards thoughts of those less fortunate.. This time of year is so difficult for so many, financially, or with the loss of loved ones, or being alone for the holidays, etc.. Poverty, is always a growing concern - & having been there in the past i stress the thoughts of familes & children needing warmth, food & a place to sleep. Cold weather is upon us, and so i am committing to doing something, ANYthing this holiday season which will bring smiles to faces of those who need it most.. And lastly, while the holidays are a special time of year to most, i want to bring smiles ANY ol time of year.. Bringing smiles, in turn makes me smile BIG, and it's exactly the kind of warmth i need these days, in addition to the love & blessings i already have.. Sometimes, it's the little things that make the happiest hearts.. Random acts of kindness, a simple smile, letting someone know you are thinking of them, handmade gifts, whatever the case.. i'm doing it ♥ |
I do NOT understand how some people retain their drivers licence!!!! I just watched as a guy came speeding into the mall doing about 30 ( speed limit is 15). He took out a pedestrian crosswalk sign, never realizing he had hit it. The sign was jammed under his car as he drove to a parking space about 100 yards away. He got out of his car looked around the front of it and started to walk to the entrance of the food court..... that's when I showed up! I felt like I was lecturing a 2 yr old! Needless to say..... He will be receiving a bill for repair of the sign. I'm glad I wasn't in the roadway at the time, probably would have hit me and not realized it either! :annoyed:

A date which will live in infamy!!!
Today is the 70th anniversary of this speech and the 70th (+one day) of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, which occurred on December 7, 1941. I'm filled with a personal sense of the importance of this day, because my Pop was part of it. He was a 13 y/o boy, playing in the street outside of his home in Honolulu, when he watched the Japanese planes fly over his house, on their way to bomb Pearl Harbor.
My deepest gratitude goes out to all members of The Greatest Generation of Americans, whose fortitude and strength of character brought this nation through the worst Depression this world has ever known, and then went on to fight and win a World War on not just one front, but 3.......Europe, The Pacific Theater, and the one here at home. They all pulled together and their greatest legacy to all of us is the Spirit of America. G-d bless them all.:vigil: ~Theo~ :bouquet: |
