While at the nail salon today there were two different women each being kept company [one w/ a pedicure the other w/ a nail fill] by their big burly rough kinda looking boyfriends/husbands. LoL Those men just seemed so out of place in such a delicate pampering space yet they were both very comfortable and content just being with their girls. I loved watching both couples.

I know this sounds totally cheesey, but this Justin Timberlake video/commercial was on the Yahoo page...

...and it's just smiley fun watches all these people being surprised by a superstar whom they adore...it's just fun.

Quiet peacefulness of a dove cooing. I love how quiet my house and neighborhood are, so tranquil.

Waking up this morning and feeling the sun on my face and realizing hey.....i am still alive!

TheMerryFairy 03-30-2013 10:18 AM

Floating energy, free coffee at the market, seeing familiar faces & sharing stories, encouraging words through txts, finishing my shopping, daydreaming and the really cool receptionist at the tattoo shop.

The Sun, she is out and happy and so am I

  • Me being self indulgently lay-abed
  • Setting up the word doc. for step four writings
  • Breaking the expensive habit of posh coffee every day

TheMerryFairy 03-30-2013 11:37 AM

My nephew making "pudding" in my kitchen then claiming that the cat was the one who did it -only when it didn't turn out. The cat used the whole litre of milk because it likes milk so much to make 1 packet of pudding (half of which is on the floor still in powder form) and even used the "whiskers" LMAO

I need to get milk and to start locking the door in the daytime too so I don't get random kitchen pudding wars.

DJ Bear 03-30-2013 11:43 AM

I have a flock of hens, at least until next week. Anyway there is no rooster. So 3 of my hens are very amorous and when I walked out the front door just now there were those 3 amorous hens on top of 3 other hens that seemed to be enjoying it.

What made me laugh was that they were all in a row and when I looked at them the oldest hen look up at me and then went back to what she was doing.

Woo-hoo, more Easter eggs! (I have Araucana hens and they lay eggs in numerous shades of green)

Young T at tonight's meeting accepting a proper contact hug for the first time. Way to go T! :cheerleader:

Our Col finally getting his chance to hit the steps. He has literacy challenges so it's a double challenge for him. His stoicism and willingness is a huge example of how to keep it simple. I wish I had that talent. :sigh:

Listening to country music on the radio while taking a bubble bath, enjoying a simple easy going saturday filled with movies and kind thoughts of friends and being in the kitchen preparing for tomorrow.

How much better my tweaked back feels after playing 18 holes of frisbee golf yesterday. That and the pair of grey owls that flew not 20 feet in front of us at dusk, quiet as fog.

Degotoga 03-30-2013 04:53 PM

A thoughtful and perfectly timed conversation this morning. It was needed, appreciated, and has made me feel better today than I've felt all week. I'm truly grateful.

What made me smile today?

A lovely pm from a Lovely Lady. :winky:

s0litude 03-30-2013 05:16 PM

What made me smile today....

Met one of my neighbours, Cerise (no "h"), and her Corgie, Jake, that she shares custody of with her ex-girlfriend. We talked about her work and about Gay Pride coming up soon in Salt Lake City, and I've never had time in my work schedule to go. This year, I am going: http://utahpridefestival.org/

Coffee always makes me smile.

Daydreaming and falling asleep in a hot bath for over an hour.

My roommate who has been "making passes at me several times a week" finally seeming to accept that I am not interested, and saying, "you're like a brother; I can change in front of you" as she borrowed one of my t-shirts.

stargazingboi 03-30-2013 05:17 PM

Last night when the sun set I headed outside and put together the basketball hoop for little man...today it made me smile to see how happy it made him that it was finally up. It was fun shooting hoops with him and the rest of the gang.

What made me smile....

A long conversation with a friend... And that same friend texting me two hours later because there was thunder and lightening, and with her being frightened by thunderstorms, she wanted to be comforted. I called her and talked to her until my cell phone battery died. I love long conversations, when someone really knows how to keep a conversation going.

Coffee, the elixir of the Gods!

That I'm functional-- and a bit loopy-- after merely four hours of sleep... and the fact that there are so few errands and chores to do today that there will likely be time for a nap later. Remember when you were little bitty, and putting you down for a nap was hell because you'd grumble and fight naptime? And now as adults, we sometimes WISH someone would demand we take a nap each day.

Further plans with a friend for us both to dye our hair-- he and I are colouring our hair "Blue Envy"

News that I may be able to go hang out with another friend I haven't seen in a while sometime next week

One more day with a friend as her move to Texas was bumped back a day

clay 03-31-2013 11:35 AM

a long discussion with my detective :police: friend...she makes me crack up...but is a solid friend nonetheless. I love my really cool friends....

TheMerryFairy 03-31-2013 01:09 PM

Where do I even begin?????

Taking myself for breakfast, giving easter goodies to my friends, receiving unexpected goodies, being invited to dinner by my boss - getting to spend time with his beautiful family, wine, laughs, conversation, kids faces lighting up while they tell me about what the easter bunny brought, leftovers..

Positive energy and the power of never giving up. A good friend is feeling amazing today and knowing that makes me flutter.

Today was a day full of smiles inspite of the empty spot in my heart!

deb0670 03-31-2013 04:45 PM

i made ham, potato salad, deviled eggs, Italian styled veggies, green beans that were sauteed with garlic and onion in a lil olive oil and rolls. I packaged them all up and put them in a box with some paper plates, napkins, and silverware then my daughter and i took all of it to the rehab place. We invited Ethan's friend Charles to dine with us, and we all had Easter dinner crammed in his room. This was the first time Ethan got to taste my ham( he usually cooks a ham when necessary), and he loved it. Charles kept raving over it and said it was the best ham he ever had. He also loved my deviled eggs. Charles kept thanking me over and over again.
It made me smile seeing how happy he was, and how much Ethan enjoyed my cooking.
It made me smile that i was able to do this, and that we were able to enjoy and celebrate Easter together, despite our circumstances.
