It is really something to find that a long time friendship may turn to romance. But there is also worry about this messing up that friendship. One day at a time.

We had a long talk last night and she stated her case like an adult. I was very impressed and am working at letting her grow up. It's not an easy thing to watch my baby become an adult, but I am very proud of the young lady she's becoming.

A phone call with my Mom and know what she did, she did for me. She need not say the words. My love for her good not get any deeper. There are times I wish I had children of my own, so that I could treat them as my Mom does me. For now, random strangers and my nieces and nephews will have to do.

There's a metaphor in here somewhere........................ just let me ponder it a while and I'll get it right................................ You see, it's cold outside today, so I wore my nice coat....................... It's a kind of a pea-coat style with a feminine cut in a bold hunter green................ It makes my jade-green kitty-cat eyes just pop when I wear it..................... It's the right length, meaning it's not too long -- doesn't swallow my short, 5-foot-tall frame.........................................Best of all, it's warm...................... Not just 'breaks the wind until I can dash inside' warm... and not just 'cozy enough for Florida but hope the wind doesn't pick up today' warm...... Really warm. Like, 'wrap you up in comfort, no wet chill is disrupting my calm, ain't that moon beautiful tonight' warm ............. I'm 36 years old and I've never owned a coat this nice before................................. I had to buy it myself. No birthday or holiday gift, this winter wardrobe treasure.............. Nope. Mine all mine and on my dime............... But that's ok........... this fine green coat taught me a fine lesson............... one I don't think I'll forget anytime soon............. you see, the only person who's going to keep you warm when it's cold outside...................... is you..............
