I really like a person who loves toast
I like the part of being alone where you get to do what you want how you want it done and when. The rest, not so much. My dad, as I remember him when he was around, was a Caucasian Lionel Richie. Only in the looks dept. No song stylings or big cash, but he did have a lot of ladies. I tried horseradish for the first time last week. Where has it been all my life?! I can't sleep without my special pillow. |

1. If you have a land-line with one of those coiled phone cords I see that the cord's twisted and knotted, I will fix it. Doesn't matter if you like it the other way. I will fix it.
2. I prefer evening/night to morning/afternoon. 3. I secretly want to get rid of all of my possessions and live and work in a cooperative, sustainable community. 4. I like finding change in my apartment building's washer or dryer because it feels like someone's paying me to do chores I had to do anyway. 5. One of my girls wrote to me this weekend when she got back from choir camp and said it was fun and she had a good time, but it just wasn't the same without me there. Awww! :) |
1. The cake for my 13th birthday was left over from my grandmother's funeral/wake the day before. I thought it was morbid at the time, but I find it hilarious now.
2. If I am trying to put something together or take it apart, I must stick my tongue out. What? It helps! 3. If I am watching TV and one of those ASPCA or Humane Society ads comes on, I must turn the channel. Can. Not. Watch. 4. I wrote painfully bad, angsty poetry when I was a teenager and I still have some of it. But you have to sleep with me before I'll bust it out and let you laugh at it. 5. I can't roller skate. Bonus: 5 things no one would know ... about my family. 1. My oldest sister was pregnant at the same time my mom was pregnant with me. 2. My maternal grandfather was a coal miner. 3. My dad worked as a milk man when he and my mom were first married. And he drove a horse and carriage on his route. 4. My mom's family did not have indoor plumbing until they moved from Iowa to Michigan when she was 15. The previous season's Sears & Roebuck catalog was their toilet paper. 5. My father's parent's were first cousins. |
I will be a truly amazing mother, and will have fantastic, well-adjusted, happy, smart, thoughtful, funny, polite, inquisitive, charming, playful children.
I love chocolate, and I love fruit - but not in combination. And I really dislike sour fruit. I have a fetish for beautiful and unique glasses. I also love blue glass, and have a small collection. I love my life, but I really do miss being tucked in and held at night, and waking up feeling warm and protected. Haven't had that in years. My hair is thick, again past my waist, but I have been too lazy and/or preoccupied to get it trimmed. I am an idiot for staying up this late on a work night. ...Oh wait, this is supposed to be about what people *don't* already know about me. ;) |
I have a lawn goose dressed up in a harley outfit
I had a pagan commitment ceremony with a butch...it was one of the prettiest and most sacred ceremonies I ever witnessed. It had a bad ending...but the intent at that time was real and it reflected in the ceremony I am the youngest child in my family and yet my older sister insists she is younger...lol. Its a standing joke between us! Even our shared primary care physician has asked both of us seriously, who is really the youngest...lol I dont really care to sound nice or sweet or fluffy anymore, tho i am still soft and warm and loving. I am done making small talk that pretty much doesnt matter in the events of real life. What I do care about is strength of my character and depth of my honest reflection about myself and others. my grape pergola is full of grapes and I expect a heavy crop this year if I can catch them before the birds do...jams and jellies! |

my second part time job is in parole and probation.
my son has spent more time in hospitals then anywhere else in his life and he will always be my number one i dont have soft nice hands like a femme should cause i work outside and with my hands alot i dont like always being the tougher emotionaly and physically one in my relationships my parents have been happily married now for 43 years they still go on dates he gives her cards and flowers and i wish i had just an ounce of what they share |
I can smell one atom of BS in a field full of wildflowers, so don't even go there.
I'm a loyal and giving friend who knows when to offer supportive advice and when to shut up and just let you vent. When people say things like 'I'm a straight talker' I'll usually give them a wide berth. What they really mean is 'I'm extremely rude and opinionated.' Salt of the earth, honest people who are straight talkers don't need to announce it, they just are. I love to be outside, walking, planting, running my hand over scented herbs, reading or simply observing.... the changing seasons, clouds, busy ants, the breeze through grass, people getting on with their day...... Even if I have no plans other than being alone doing as little as possible, I'll still wash and blow dry my hair. |

1. I love to read and correct mistakes people make when writing. Thankfully I get paid to do just that.
2. When I was little I remember one of the first Christmas presents I received was my very own desk with Bugs Bunny bookends and two books. I mistakenly thought the bookends were telephones and used them as such. 3. I made up my own karaoke show one time by using a screwdriver as a mic. I may have added to that ensemble with a tennis racket as an electric guitar. I may or may not have done this as an adult too. 4. I am very close to my family and would be lost without them. 5. I have a nomadic spirit. |

1. I hate to clean up after other people, with the exception of my children.
2. It takes me almost 2 hours to wake up in the mornings. 3. It takes an act of god to get me to fold laundry... this is what hangers are for. 4. My creative space always seems cluttered, but its organized chaos. 5. When I feel overwhelmed, I can filter out the whole world... not always a good thing. |

Once at Black's Beach, which is a nude beach so fuck them; and once at Sea World. . . . :o 5. I can't swim but it doesn't matter because if I find myself in water, I become crazed with terror and I spin my legs as fast as Roadrunner's and rise above the surface and zoom to land. |

Last night I slept about an hour and 40 min. * I turned the oven on, it's been raining, only 72 outside. baked a butternut squash from the garden. Chunked it put it over quinoa and pureed some in blender and poured it over. I never ate squash before! * I take at least two showers a day. * I still have two cars....haven't sold that second yet. |

With my friends and close people not so much. Although I am always verbal about my feelings I am a huge hygeine friek. I always have to be smelling good. Im almost girly about it lol I love watching sunsets on the shores of a local lake here. And usually do so in the winter time when I can be alone. |

1. Our house was destroyed in 1972 when Hurricane Agnes caused the river to overflow in PA. Now, the river is rising again and they are evacuating some people. I can imagine how they feel. Praying for everyone.
2. Our wedding is getting closer--only six weeks from Saturday! So much to do! Today I ordered black suede kippot (head coverings) with copper embossed oak leaves. Waiting on the arrival of preserved leaves for the tables, as well as the ketubah (wedding contract), which will be handmade--painted, paper cut, and calligraphy. We're so excited about all the personal touches that will make it special to us. 3. Last weekend, Candy finally met my parents. It went remarkably well. Incredible. 4. I love watching Chopped. 5. I recently discovered the joy of acrylic nails, and I can't see how I'd ever go back. |

I am proud of my nerd/geek status.
I have become addicted to The Millionaire Matchmaker. I spend an inordinate amount of time chatting with the animals around me, even Henry (maybe Henrietta) the possum that I feed at work and Bambi the fawn that I feed at home. I've also become addicted to Words With Friends, and am super disappointed that it only allows you to have 20 games going at one time. I love fair food and carnival rides, both of which I shall hopefully get my fill of this week, as the NC Mountain State Fair is going on until the 18th. |
