Guilty Pleasures
 

I really want to post here but I don't feel guilty about any pleasure that I allow myself.

I enjoy the following three things;
Fine food
Good whiskey
Chewing tobacco

Life is too short to have any guilt about pleasurable activities.
My 3 major enjoyments are...

1) endorphins
2) ethnogenics
3) sensationalism


What more can I say about life?

Guilty Pleasures Today:

* 80's hair bands played incredibly loud (through headphones!) while tapping away at some repetitive, but necessary work

* That thing where everyone else leaves the building at lunch and I have blissful peace and quiet behind the closed door of my office for an hour or more

* Making lists and preparing for travel. DECADENCE.

My Guilty Pleasures Today

1) Watching 45 digging his hole deeper in this investigation.

2) Walking in the fresh snow

3) The ways and amounts of spoiling my Partner gives me

1) telling people "SUNDAY IS MY FRIDAY! TGIF!!! WOOT WOOT!!" on Sunday late afternoons. I *love* it. I work all weekend. So the amount of tgif, happy friday! wishes I get from people who think everyone in the world works 9-5...
so for the sake of all the retail workers, hospital staff, and all the countless others who work all weekend long and smile with clentched teeth to "Happy Friday!" from people...
T G I F Mofos!!! I'm havin a pina colata! And the next two days will be sweet! :D

2) a plate of sesame fries and miso gravy at the Naam <3

3) Sephora. I sincerely literally live upstairs and one over from the Vancouver flagship Sephora store. I love going in there by myself to look at travel make up <3 I tell NO ONE.

Today's guilty pleasures...
A rich, chocolate muffin for lunch
Key Lime Gelato with dinner
And a huge fresh salad (paid by the pound) from Ingles

1. campfires/bonfires
2. a good cigar
3. dancing in the kitchen to big band music, show tunes, motown, or other singable music (maybe even singing too)

1) time spent with my granddaughter

2) long drives to the countryside on rainy, foggy days

3) having dinner at a posh restaurant (r&r time)

I have a few new ones.

Fun fact, I've never really had television service before. Not growing up and here and there as an adult but nothing I ever really got into. Well, now that I'm (happily) living alone, I love to get on the couch in the evening with my cats (and foster dog for now) and watch true crime documentaries.

Sleeping in. For the past few years I've been up 7 days a week between 5-6am for various obligations. I'm starting to be able to sleep until 7am and OMG it is lovely.

Setting my environment at home. Smells: Shower steamers, sage sticks, incense, candles. New speakers and streaming the music I like at a volume that feels good. Sleeping with the windows open. Fresh fruits and veggies in the refrigerator. Dark coffee on the counter.

Staying in bed longer than I used to….

Do you have any recommended shows?

Joe Kenda is my newish favorite. Bill Curtis has the classics and they are available on YouTube! Cold case files and American Justice being the best in my opinion. 48 hours is also on YouTube and very good!
