Loved that song by Harper Simon (Wishes and Stars): it reminds me of a song by James Walsh (Starsailor). I think it's the style of acoustic guitar tracks, and lyrics between the two songs,
that caused me to think of song by James Walsh. |
And that reminds me of this:

Something about the lyrics in the Frightened Rabbit song
(which is new to me, loved hearing it!), made me think of a song by José James... (Come to my door) |

Last night the skies were as clear as could be and even though the chill of fall is in the air, I could see the gorgeous moon, hanging so beautifully in the nightime skies :stillheart:
And, I do love to hear songs by Ray LaMontange. I think Cat Stevens voice, the way he plays guitar, and the kind of ballads he does, is very nearly much like that of the style of Ray LaMontange. |

London Grammar covering Chris Isaak "Wicked Game" |
'Take the ribbon from my hair...', came to mind
Jewel & Chris Isaak covering the classic song by Kris Kristofferson: Help me make it through the night (1970). |
Help Me Make It Through The Night...makes me think of my papa because he always listened to the original...which makes me think of him singing this to put me to sleep when I was a kid:

Not the first that came to mind but a great song.

Your song Sparkle (not sacreligious to me, at all), makes me think of the song by The Steve Miller Band (The Joker) |

That number by Jeff Beck makes me think of Roy Buchanan:
I think both artists struggled with being heard .... |

LOVE LOVE LOVE that track from Nitin Sawhney!
It reminds me of this MJ Cole featuring Jill Scott remix, because of the vocals, and because both tunes take me back to a certain time and place in my life and make me smile! Nitin Sawhney Trio is doing a few very rare US performances this fall, I'm super excited to see him in my area. Here is a link to their US tour dates:http://www.nitinsawhney.com/nitinlive.html |
That Jill Scott song...her voice reminded me of Gaelle...

Reminds me of the earthy-but-ethereal vocal quality of Diane Charlamagne
In 2003 I went to an all day festival at Knebworth with a dear friend (crazy that was 10! years ago now). My friend was really into Robbie Williams, he's not really my cuppa, but it was a gorgeous day and the grounds are beautiful I went along unaware of the rest of the line up - I was soooooo excited when I heard Diane's voice. She's incredible! |
