I haven't spent much time here, and miss a whole bunch of y'all.
I moved again and I'm in MN for the second time
I do peek in from time to time to read posts
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving

George Michael. I sure do miss that voice and gorgeous hunk of a gay man.

He came across my FB timeline, and I've been listening to him since Christmas. He died three years ago. His music was the soundtrack of my 20's.

Tonight, I read his sister died on Christmas. On the 3 year anniversary of his.😪

Father Figure grabs me, throws me against the wall knocking the wind out of me, proverbially. I gasp when it comes on the radio, but I won't own it because I don't want to dull that response.

Never knowing you can be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I was just inside the bank and a man walks in asking for security. Everyone in the bank, stopped and listened to what this man had to say. Some kind of confrontation outside. But it was a moment of total awareness of what you were doing.

Moving forward in life without people who aren't helping me better things in my life.

Its a relief to be rid of some people. Less stress less drama.

Oh and more peaceful.

JustLovelyJenn 01-05-2020 08:10 PM

At what point is it acceptable to throw your hands up and just let the children float or sink on their own?

Somehow, everything I have tried to teach them for the past 17 or so years has made no difference in all and they still believe they should have zero responsibility or accountability in this world...

*mama bear growl* I am tired of being the maid/taxi/alarmclock/atm/personalchef.... I want some of my life and day to be about me.

Orema 01-07-2020 05:16 PM

A butch I flirted with in Costco. She’s a floor manager who was showing me an item I was looking for. I took her by surprise. She’s married and it was very innocent, but it put a big smile on her face and that made it worth the effort.

Tonight at 8:20 and 20 seconds, it will be

20:20:20 2020

It will never happen again in our lifetime!

And all of April will be 4/20

A stay-cation. It’s starts Saturday at noon (I may have to work Friday and Saturday mornings) and it can’t get here fast enough.

JDeere 01-09-2020 05:10 PM

Too much!!!

20 millions tabs open in my brain Lol

Chad 01-11-2020 09:13 AM

On my mind

Friends, specifically Femme friends.
Most of my Femme friends are married or partenered but I have a couple of single Femme friends. Recently, I have enjoyed face to face time with a single Femme and I like that a lot.
It reminds me to display my manners. Get to the event early so that she does not arrive alone. Open doors, walk behind her, compromise on things like food, be polite, be pleasant, walk her to her car, and most of all enjoy her company and tell her that.

I get a little lazy with my manners around men and couples so this is new and fun.

Ditching Cable

Getting rid of cable tv today. They jacked up my price and I refuse to pay what they're asking. Will drop off the cable box today. May get Sling or something, but not for awhile. Will stick with Prime, Netflix, Pluto, etc. for now.

Life could be worse.

Yay! I've been cable free for almost a year. I just have wi-fi. At first, I was afraid of not seeing the news, especially the weather.
I want to be aware of hurricanes. Well, my phone does a better job of keeping me informed. I also got an antenna for the TV. I'm still able to get local channels.
Remember, you can probably stream local channels as well.

Don't be a hostage to cable, lol

Don't be a hostage, indeed! :)

I didn't have cable from 2011 to 2018. I upgraded my television and got cable at a great rate. I knew they'd up the price as soon as the 24-month contract was up. I'll miss catching the news and a couple shows, but I'll get over that and will use other sources.

Also, the cable box uses a lot of electricity so I'm saving on a couple fronts. :)

JDeere 02-05-2020 03:40 PM

Meetings

I hate meetings—especially those that last all day. So you can imagine how I feel about back-to-back meetings that take place over three days.

Was in meetings all day yesterday and will be in meetings all day today and tomorrow.

I’m not a thinker. I’m a worker bee. This isn’t modesty, I just know myself very well in this regard. I do have to ‘think” on my job, but I dont’ give a damn about the big picture and I don’t enjoy chit-chatting about the future. My role, thank goodness, is focusing on the small picture. Give me some comma’s to change, colors to adjust, files to organize and I’m a happy camper.

One of the things I hate about meetings is that people lie, lie, lie. They love hearing themselves make promises they know they won’t keep. Blah, blah, blah.

I just want to do my work that I enjoy doing so much.

I’m surprised they still invite me to these meetings as grumpy as I get.

Years ago I lost it in a meeting and called someone a liar. He was lying and was lying on me. They stopped inviting me to meetings for a few years :) and that one move stopped me from getting into a management position (shrug). I can’t lose it in these meetings without getting into a lot of trouble and possibly fired. Too bad.

PlatinumPearl 02-26-2020 10:54 AM

What Is On My Mind....

The recent stock market drop.

Economic predictions.

FireSignFemme 02-26-2020 10:15 PM

Whether or not to go to Mexico for dental care. I know people who've went for all sorts of things, but never serious dental work. Though it would be difficult, I could live without a toe or breast, maybe less stomach, but my face? Lose a toe put some shoes on, lose a breast well I guess you could pad your bra. What do you do if you mess up your face though? It's not like you can just put some pants over your head and nobody is going to notice. Well I guess I could wear a burka. I don't know I'm so easily distracted. I might forget and pull it up so I could see better. I haven't been conditioned since childhood.

I see how poorly people with disfigurement issues, especially facial ones are treated. Probably a million people could do it without experiencing complication one, even have a mini vacation too boot with the money saved. Me I'd be the one in a million who has complications, or gets taken hostage by gorilla soldier crazy people because they mistake me for somebody rich just because I have shoes. I don't know when I was in horrible pain I was curled up in a ball sobbing oh rip em out, rip em out, I don't care do what you have to do just make it stop. Now that I'm on decent narcotics though, decisions, decisions...

GeorgiaMa'am 02-27-2020 09:36 AM

I have a million things left to do before going into the hospital on Tuesday.

Relatives will be coming to my house which really needs a deep clean, but I don't have time to do it or even to hire somebody to do it.

Going to my mom's is necessary but will take all weekend.

My pre-op is Friday afternoon, and it will take 3 hours.

I still have lots of insurance and drs. office people I need to talk to on the phone - and none of them call me back, and I have to keep calling over and over.

I need to pay bills for the month.

I have a ton of projects I need to finish up at work, but I can't concentrate on them enough to get them done. Playing on BFP is not helping.

All of this, and I'm so tired I could sleep 24 hours a day.

JDeere 02-27-2020 04:14 PM

A ton of things...

Hopefully things look better in a week or so.

C0LLETTE 02-27-2020 05:52 PM

Here's an amazing fact:

The most recent study from the Center for the Study of Global Christianity at Gordon Conwell puts the number of Christian denominations and sects at 43,000.

Could be a good conversation here.

Ever see John Oliver's take on what it takes to start your own church? The whole video is good, but start at 16:53 to see where he starts his own church.

I made it through those meetings without losing my cool. Well, I lost if for a second, but I professional about it and she was giving me guff (she’s abrasive in the best of circumstances).

And it wasn’t one move that stopped me from getting into management, but calling someone a liar was the final move that sealed that deal.

I’m worn out from those meetings. I took off from work today and am having a 3-day weekend.

Loved it. So funny and yet so sad. Thanks GeorgiaMa'am. I guess there really are more religion charlatans on the internet than just in Oklahoma. lol

Getting my credit fixed and things consolidated.

Its a task but I have to do it.

Bèsame* 03-05-2020 09:17 AM

I'm currently working for a huge Texas company, and with a confirmed virus in my county, I just received a travel survey from work.
Asking if we have traveled to certain areas, plan to have visitors or what travel plans we might have.

I think they are just getting info on what's going on with all of us.

Makes me feel like I'm being looked after with my employer.

Wash your hands!

GeorgiaMa'am 03-05-2020 12:21 PM

- Getting my driver's license renewed
- How to get my house clean before my sister sees it
- Some trees that are leaning precariously toward my house and need to be cut down
- Why was I dumb enough to order groceries to pick up on a day that's raining cats and dogs?
- Need to look into changing house insurance companies
- Need to get some minor repairs done to the house.
- Need to get my house assessed.
- Getting a new surgery date and an approval letter from Aetna.
- How long before I can get a dog?
- Hoping I will have some time and the ability to do some of these things while I am recovering.

I have a lot on my mind. I have drugs for that, to keep them from just spinning-spinning-spinning around in my brain in a never-ending vortex, but they seem to not be working as well lately.

easygoingfemme 03-06-2020 07:35 AM

Managing a very transient cooperative living building with impending Coronovirus ... we're not prepared. I'm seeking an executive meeting today to discuss that and how to handle if staff are quarantined since we have two buildings that are supposed to be staffed 24/7 housing 95 women and children at a time. We're having trouble getting supplies we need for sanitation and prevention.

C0LLETTE 03-06-2020 03:53 PM

I am worried that this site is narrowing down to a very few...probably many complex reasons but maybe it's time we put our ideas together to stop what appears to be a downward spiral.

I'd be very happy to be proven wrong.

JDeere 03-06-2020 04:54 PM

Making sure I have all my ducks in a row for my visit to see one of my half sisters and half bro.

Even though its 2 weeks away... I procrastinate alot.

easygoingfemme 03-07-2020 06:36 AM

What the next few months will look like in the US and how that will impact us.

I'm not so much worried about contracting the virus myself but since I take care of my elderly parents I have to take measures to not expose them. I work with a population of women who often have compromised immune systems and I need to consider that too.

Me and my Daddy are supposed to go on a big bike tour in June in the midwest. A 500 mile ride with about 1000 people from all over the place. We are going to watch the statistics and see if we would be wise to change our plans this year. We have been training for the ride since November so we're pumped but there are a lot of other rides we could do that would have less potential to put us in a quarantine.

C0LLETTE 03-07-2020 07:34 AM

Lately I have been wondering if I should sign up for a "round the world ' First Class Cruise in a luxury stateroom with a huge outside balcony on the top deck. Probably get the run of the ship and eat limitless amounts of seafood, caviar and wagyu steak.

I'm thinking I could get one now for the price of a one-night stay in a Motel Six.
