Spirit came to mind and I had to listen for awhile

Silence by Delerium featuring Sarah McLachlan mixed by Paul Oakenfold
Classic track |
LOVE Delerium!! Another side project of the two guys behind Delerium is the group Conjure One. Love me some Bill Leeb and Rhys Fuller...they also are known for the Industrial Group Frontline Assembly. So...yeah, back to topic...."Silence" made me think of this:

listen to the beginning of above song--
|
The beginning of the last 2 songs, remind me of the beginning of this one...
And actually there is another Gorillaz tune that reminds me of Pink Floyd but I can't for the life of me figure out which one it is. |
|
"Traveling at the speed of sound..." invokes ideas, for me, about Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot, the Cosmos, and the Theory of Relativity (much like what this thread is about, to me), which made me think of this song:
......."Cosmic Ocean" by Sun Glitters ft Steffaloo |
Reminds me of acupuncture-- awww.
:praying: |
|
|
Boozoo Bajou always makes me think of Morcheeba
|
I LOOOOOOOVE old skool Morcheeba!
Soundtrack to my post-club chill-out party era. 'Who Can You Trust?' (whole album) |
reminds me of chill--
|
|
the percussion hook makes me think not only of the genius in Peter Gabriel, but also musicians like Phil Collins and Sting....
but I couldn't help think about Bobby McFerrin's tune Don't Worry, Be Happy (I love whistling) |

It's probably a stretch,
but that song made me think of this one: |
|
I love that song by Roy Ayers as much as I love Sunshine :stillheart:
(I miss summer, it wasn't long enough for me this year) Have you ever heard of the indie folk artist, Laura Veirs? I came across her song, "Sun Song," one day last spring. It's not the same kind of song, nor does it have the same vibe as Roy Ayers', "Everybody Loves Sunshine," song, but it came to mind first - out of all the songs about sunshine that I like to listen too. |

Eddie Vedder ~>>> The Black Keys
|
|
hmmmmm, I know my grandmother used to say that when it was time for her to go 'home', the "great spirit in the sky" would take her up in the clouds and she'd float home....
I guess the song that comes to mind is more along the lines of a western cowboy, kind of thing. Like I could hear Lee Hazelwood's deep baritone voice and the spurs on his boots jingling... Lee Hazelwood & Nancy Sinatra: Summer Wine. |
|
I guess I could always go with a selection based on thematic content (lyrics, sound design or by design of title), but the song that came to mind first was a song by:
Silver Convention (Fly Robin Fly) |

Sinnerman, Nina Simone remixed by Felix da Housecat **waving hello to Katzchen** |
