Excellent, Georgia!

Sometimes we have to outsmart the lil suckers.

Tonight was super great. Gracie was feeling very affectionate and snuggled with me in my lap for a long time (for her) until Loki came in the room and did their unspoken ninja language and she slooooooowly got up as if to say, "I'm leaving because I WANT to, NOT because you want me too." He then took her place and I let him since I was still watching Chopped so they both got mama love tonight.

candy_coated_bitch 04-25-2018 06:54 PM

Mine actually sat in my lap today. He really only wanted the letter that was there.

Logicaly 04-25-2018 09:18 PM

Mine just peed on the carpet, le sigh. Sitting here enjoying posting on the Planet and turn my head to see her peeing. Normally she is much better about letting me know when she has to potty.

JDeere 04-26-2018 02:12 PM

Mine has a concussion. She fell back while trying to jump on my lap. She puked everywhere but took her to vet anyways. Right now she is sleeping on my legs.

The puppy is taking her afternoon nap with mom.

I'm sorry she has a concussion. I am really glad you took her to the vet. You gotta get that shit checked out. Was it a hardwood floor, or she just hit really super hard? I just never heard of a dog getting a concussion before.

JDeere 04-26-2018 09:02 PM

Hit super hard on concrete. Thats why i took her in so fast after she puked, i knew something wasnt right.

We have 3 cats, one who is very large (prob. part Maine Coon Cat), one who is a typical large Tuxedo cat, and we found this
abandoned tiny (looks like 8 mos old) grey tiger.

The tuxedo (Che) and the tiny tiger (Diva) are buddies, and were racing around Thursday morning. The large cat (Calliope) began to harass them, running behind them ambushing then hissing and growling.

Both of them ducked underneath the sofa to the amazement of my Partner. She thought Che had gained too much (muscle) weight since Diva joined our household, but Che shimmied under just fine. Diva, who had never been under the sofa followed like a pro leaving the aggressive Calliope behind peering under to see how she could maybe find a way to follow.

Che and Diva were safe and sound in their sofa haven.

Our six chickies got two more sisters.

I decided to run by the feed store just in case they may by chance gotten some Americaunas in.....and.they had. They also had the speckled Sussex i had been wanting....so i got.one of each.

My honey was super excited. He wants as many color.eggs as possible. The chickies accepted the change pretty well. So far so good :)

Gemme 04-27-2018 05:28 AM

They got a new wet food this morning and seem to be doing fine with it. They always run around like they have a hot poker sticking them after they eat wet food and today was no exception so I'm glad. This new food will save me a bit of coin in the long run so I'm glad that they like it.

Kenna 04-27-2018 08:55 AM

He flopped himself on the front desk at the vets, (the desk is chest high for me) rolled over with his belly up, legs all relaxed, head flopped over sideways to watch the lady sitting behind the desk and made himself at home and very comfortable while it took a long time to do his boarding papers. He was so relaxed that when an aggressive dog came in and made a huge disturbance, it didn't phase him. He just sneezed then flopped his head over again like he was totally in love with the clerk.

The 5 pound puppy on the other hand, tried to take on the aggressive dog from inside her crate. She sounded like a Tasmanian Devil !

JDeere 04-27-2018 01:48 PM

Ours are being lazy really lazy today.

Mine is doing better and actually eating more.

Why does it take SO LONG to do boarding papers! This drives me crazy!

Last night, Diva Kitty loudly let me know her displeasure on auto-repeat when she discovered her bed had been displaced when I went outside earlier on the balcony. She did not let up until I got up and fixed it.

Yesterday, both Diva Kitty and Tiny Dog were very pleased to see an old friend who hasn't come by the house in awhile. They got lots of pets while we visited and got caught up.

candy_coated_bitch 04-27-2018 11:52 PM

He ate a sticker, climbed on top of my dresser, laid all over my letters so I couldn't write, jump on the bed, off the bed, on the bed, off the bed basically just acted like a big nutjob.

Right now the baby kitty is laying on my lap staring at me. Haha!

JDeere 05-06-2018 02:24 PM

My dog aa much as i love her has had her booty spanked 3 times today because of her issues with the new puppy.

Said puppy is adorable but a bit much of an attention whore

Gemme 05-06-2018 04:05 PM

That's kind of how pups and kittens are, JDeere. lol It's one of the reasons we got Gracie, so Loki would have a companion and playmate and someone else to burn off some of his energy.

Currently, Gracie is on the stool, looking out the window. She's so freaking adorable with her tiny white paws hanging over the back and her dark ears perked up with her white whiskers twitching as she tries to smell the things she sees outside. I can see the gears burning in her head. She's smart; if I'm not careful, she'll find a way outside.

Loki is on the sofa again, moving around for maximum comfort. He's part cat and part sloth, but totally handsome.

I have a couple of really good looking kids, y'all.

GeorgiaMa'am 05-06-2018 06:05 PM

Tiny Dog and Diva Kitty were both very jealous over me tonight! I've been away for the weekend, and they were both really happy to see me when I got home. Tiny Dog met me at the door. Diva Kitty did not deign to come downstairs, but she met me at the top of her stairs (heh - just noticed I said "her" stairs). She rolled over on her back and showed me her belly for some serious belly rubs. I had already loved on Tiny Dog at the door, but she stood by and snorted disdainfully as I loved on the kitty anyway.

Tiny Dog was a little flummoxed by our new neighbors. When I took Tiny outside, the neighbors were having people over. We could hear them inside their house clapping their hands in time, and people ululating and chanting. Tiny Dog huffed a couple of times and stared at the fence for a few minutes before she decided she could ignore them. So, they passed the first dog test - they're probably good people. We'll see how she acts if they come over.

 I hope it is just a super light tap. :worried:

She is probably having a hard time with all of the attention going to the puppy. Plus it is a new dog in HER home. It is normal for her to have territorial issues. You all need to accept she is going to act out some. I am not keen on hitting dogs. :( I actually grabbed a guys arm once when he was smacking his small dog that broke away from him to come see my dog. Fortunately, I was "female" back then, or he probably would have punched me. I didn't even think about it, I just reacted. I just grabbed his arm and yelled at him.

Kätzchen 05-06-2018 08:34 PM

Zeus & Athena (chocolate and cream Labrador pup's belonging to my brother), and my mom's five house cat's, were such a joy to see this weekend.

They followed me around the house and kept watch over me.

Zeus also helped my mom in her garden :)

This July, I'll be helping out my BFF by house sitting and watching over their family pets, as they vacation in Maui.

But it was great to see my family and their pets too. :stillheart:

Um no it was a pop. A hard one. I never trained my dog properly and have incurred the problems that come along with it. I understand your concern but please do not preach to me about what to do with my dog in my folks house, that matter is between us. Not you. You can call it what you want but i see you post stuff about your dog i dont agree with but keep my thoughts to myself. So post to someone else from now on.

cinnamongrrl 05-07-2018 05:17 AM

our chickies are growing in leaps and bounds!

I SWEAR we went on an outing yesterday, came back and the buff orpington was as huge as our gigantic barred rock (whom, we are starting to suspect may be a rooster after all)!!!!

We have been borrowing my mom's dogs at night so she can get a better night's rest. They are cohesive with my dogs; her Bella is my Jacques' daughter and her Bitsy was once my Bitsy lol

The kitties are doing well, but after an entire year inside, Eleanor is showing interest in going outside. We don't live on a big road but we live down a hill and people LOVE to speed down it so.....I'm afraid she'll have to wait. Our chickens will not be free ranging for the same reason. This saddens me :(

Gemme 05-07-2018 05:55 AM

The roles are reversed, sort of. Gracie is holding down the back of the sofa and Loki is parked under Gracie's window. I don't think he knows how to get up on the stool, which is fine by me. I'd rather not have cat hair floating in my breathing and eating areas. Both of them got butt scratches and pets and have bellies full of juicy, wet food. Thankfully, they are not too picky but they definitely love their wet food.

Gemme 05-08-2018 08:26 AM

Loki keeps jumping up on Gracie as she lies on the edge of the sofa. He is being a sh*t this morning.

GeorgiaMa'am 05-27-2018 12:12 PM

Diva Kitty was extremely pleased this morning to have the leftover milk from my Cap'n Crunch. It's a treat she doesn't get very often.

Tiny Dog - who gets Milk Bone treats all the time for doing what she's told - looked concerned that Diva Kitty was getting a treat and she was not, so I gave her a few pieces of cereal.

Everyone was satisfied.

Gemme 05-27-2018 04:13 PM

Well, Loki's skulking around Gracie as she eats. Dude's got a problem. Let me go shoo him away.

FireSignFemme 05-29-2018 08:25 PM

Monte is so cool. I have a great big bin I keep his cat liter in and he likes to get up there so I put a large bath towel folded in half on the top to make it more comfortable for him. Then I crack the door open so he can see outside, bask in the sun, watch passers by. Whenever I walk by him I give him a little pat. So now every time I go by he waits for me to get near him and give him his pat and then reaches out his paw and pats me. Afterwards he rolls side to side and shows me his belly for a tummy scratch which is so cute. He's such a smart cat, always learning new things and he picks them up so quickly. LOL both the good and the bad which certainly keeps things interesting.

~ocean 05-29-2018 09:05 PM

I was out on the deck w/ dogs enjoying the sunset when the puppy was so hypnotized by a helicopter overhead she walked into the house lol banged her face off the house and looked at me like "What Happened " all the time she kept looking where did that noisey thing go !

Kenna 05-29-2018 09:10 PM

Baby Briar is a total hellion for Blade (never settles down for him and always chews on him)...she loves him to pieces and knows he lets her be a hellion. But while I've got her, she tries to be a luv bug.

Gemme 05-30-2018 06:01 AM

Loki tripped me in his haste to be fed. I'm pretty good at catching myself after 8 months of this but it sure gets old. He's lucky he has other redeeming qualities. Gracie was freaking adorable. She loves to play in the tub while I do things in the bathroom. Now, she's taken to picking up the hair strainer and carrying it around like it's her baby. The thing is bigger than her head!

Currently, she's on the back of the sofa, staring out the window with her pupils tiny slits in her big green eyes. Loki is MIA, which means he's either nursing his ego from getting whupped by Gracie or he's hot and is hiding in the shadows under the furniture.

My cat loves amazon boxes. Currently, there are three empty ones on the floor in the livingroom. He hangs out in all of them.

So, continuing with my house purge, I needed to start another donation box. So I grabbed one of HIS amazon boxes. I took it to another floor and put a bathroom light fixture in it.

Hours later as I was passing through the landing, he was squeezed into the box with the light fixture. (this is what cracked me up) I pretended not to notice, so he took his tail and started smacking the box so I'd look at him, and then he sneered. :-)

It seems like a thing. Maybe Amazon dusts the insides with catnip. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks they might do it as an advertising ploy...dust insides with catnip and the resident cat(s) will take ownership of said boxes making the Amazon logo frequently visible to the human who thinks of using Amazon more often. lol.

Not horribly unimaginable or am I crazy OR perhaps both?
Am often called a crazy cat lady so.....you choose.

Pets

I posted in a different thread that I have taken over the care (again) of the neighborhood outside kitty. Tonight I went outside to pet her but when my kitten jumped into the window the outside kitty went all Rambo on my hand. I cleaned up but it does worry me.

I think she must be sad that my neighbor's are gone and left her behind.

Kätzchen 06-08-2018 09:19 PM

Petunia slept with me last night. I woke up this morning to both dogs guarding the bedroom door. Wagging their tails when I rose to take them outside. All three of them can be so affectionate, yet super silly and so adorable. :stillheart:

Gemme 06-09-2018 08:16 PM

They played with the toy I set up for them when I'm not there. It's some fun stuff....feathers, fuzzy balls, streamers....on a stick so I stick the stick in the sofa cushions so they can wiggle it and bat it and chew on it and it stays right there.

RebelDyke 06-09-2018 08:26 PM

Apparently, my dog got lucky today......:|

How do you not see THAT coming? :sunglass:

GeorgiaMa'am 06-10-2018 06:44 PM

They are clinging to my side since I just got back from a weekend away.

RockOn 06-10-2018 07:01 PM

I have made a mistake and it is not an easy task to untrain.

Last week I started feeding them outside. Now Jennifer Avery and Jeffrey Alan won't eat indoors anymore. Kevie Daniel is not picky. He will eat anything, anywhere, anytime I fill his bowl and offer it to him.

Anyway, they have been in and out all day. They want to be outside but after 15 minutes in brutal heat, they want back in the 65 degree bedroom.

That's easy enough to fix. Refuse to feed them outside. They will eat inside when they get hungry enough. At least it's not a life long habit you're trying to correct. They should figure it out soon enough.

For my own little furlings, Loki went berserk this morning after breakfast. They always feel a little wiley after they eat the wet stuff but he was puffing up at nothing and crying and running all over the furniture. I looked at Gracie and asked her what was wrong with her brother and I swear she shrugged.

For dinner, Loki was so concerned with finishing Gracie's food that he left a bunch in his wet bowl so I called Gracie over to it. Ha!

RockOn 06-12-2018 05:54 AM

Hey Gemme

Wet food is to your kitty babies like sugar is to children.
LOL! Wires them up tight! :)

lol

Not exactly. I think Loki gets so wound up because it's been a long time between dinner and breakfast and he's still learning how to stretch the dry food from lunch all the way through. Most of the vets I talked to recommended a total wet food diet for them for moisture content but I think they both like the crunch of dry. It's satisfying to them so I make sure they get both.

On a related note, I'm whittling down Loki's calorie intake and maybe that has something to do with his newfound spryness. Maybe he's losing weight. It's hard to tell with him. He would be a giant cat if he was emaciated. I think if I can get him between 13-14 lbs, he'll be good. I'll confirm with the vet at the next visit but I'm pretty sure that would be a good weight for him.

He's still crazy obsessed with food and that's probably going to be a lifelong thing but once he gets to playing or I run them with the laser pointer, he doesn't think about it so much, so I'm doing that as well.
