Today, right now, just looking at my wife sleeping...she brings me joy.

*Magic_and_Silk* 05-09-2010 03:41 PM

The 'Happy Mother's Day' phone call from my son. Then, him telling me to stop asking about him, because the call was about me....He is so sweet. The best son a mom could have.

*sniff*

TIMBERWOLF 05-09-2010 04:11 PM

My joy today....

What brought me joy today...

pennies snagged from an older sibling by a sneaky younger one while i smiled and said nothing....but made her return later...still unnoticed....

handpainted swirls that were supposed to be flowers...

cupping sweet sticky faces in my hands and returning those gooey kisses...

squirrels!!!!!

a text telling me that today was mine....no matter what anyone else thought..

A nice, lazy sunday with plenty of online things to keep Me busy :D

Massive 05-09-2010 06:54 PM

Getting to see My babygirl before heading to bed,
And knowing she will be thinking about Me while I'm in hospital for My six monthly visit to see My consultant.
Long day, but I get to come home and see and talk to her!
So it's not that bad really.

I love you babygirl, you bring joy into My life,
you are My heart,
I love you and your fabulous socks ;)

My son's grown up Happy Mother's Day wish and knowing that he was so overly sweet as a little guy that he has stockpiled extra points and can fuss over me less now that he's older. lol.

My surprise call from my ex girlfriend's daughter just before midnight. And hearing she misses me as much as I miss her and she is still wanting me to make the long trip to visit her this summer. She will always call me mom and be my daughter.

And my third Mothers Day wish from someone pretty special topping off an otherwise pretty empty day.

Joy is realizing that you can't be everything to everybody, but to the certain few you are their everything and that is enough for me.

rubygirl 05-09-2010 11:40 PM

It was very heart-warming to be able to celebrate mother's day not only with my sons but also with my parents, my sister and her family.

Sachita 05-10-2010 03:57 AM

The curry plants I thought I lost this past winter finally from the stump.

Feeling renewed after a wonderful birthday and mothers day weekend with a special friend and my family.

Feeling like I can do anything.

Recalling the joy in my Mama's voice and on her face when I got to surprise her with a visit for Mother's Day. Me and her laughing at her granddogs tearing through her yard in the sunshine playing chase. Getting my grades today and FINALLY scoring a 4.0 GPA for a semester. The warmth of friends, near and far,in my corner rooting for me. Life is GOOD!

Finding a place where my son actually can be himself. I took him to Chucky Cheese for the first time today. That place is just as hyper active as he is, so... hes ok there. He bounced from this game to that game, shooting bad guys, racing cars, throwing balls, earning tickets... and every time his pocket was out of coins he would come find me for more and back he went... for THREE hours... its amazing. Was so nice to see him happy and unrestricted for once.

oops.. it's a contorted filbert.. otherwise known as Harry Lauders Walking stick.. a slow growing old gnarly tree that for whatever reason I am terribly drawn to. I had one that I had hauled around for about 18 years until I finally moved back "home" and it was just too big ( and happy) to move. My wife had been looking for a replacement for it and we found a sweet one recently, that I was finally able to get planted. I hope he is as happy as we are!

Hope your waking gives you much joy!

.. Sex and the City (all of season one) on demand...

WingsOnFire 05-11-2010 08:00 PM

Being nose to nose with my precious ladybug... She is 11 and fighting a fungal skin infection that will take months to go away.. She is miserable... and so when she "pouts" and whines at me I cant resist leaning down and rubbing her icky feeling fur and receiving her kisses...

I love you my sweet precious dog who has been by my side through so much over the past 11 years... I promise you that you will get better.. Daddy faithfully gives you the iodine baths you need because I am allergic to iodine.. So please remember that before taking over his side of the bed...

Mommy loves you...

Oneida 05-11-2010 08:02 PM

...my dog (sweet little rat terrier) moving from his normal location at the foot of the bed to right next to my face as those scary storms rolled through late last night. When I realized what was happening, I raised the covers and he went right under them to curl up in my legs. Sweet...
