It really has taken off. You can even find frozen Detroit style pizzas now. But Buddy's is the best.

The food isn’t anything to write home about. but how can you not love a place immortalized by a SNL skit!

This was for the Billy Goat Tavern

If you're flying into Chicago's O'Hare field and are unsure of what mode of transport to take to get downtown, by all means take the blue line El train that runs right under the airport terminal station! TRUST me on this, ESPECIALLY if it's during rush hour! As you go sailing past the "parking lot" of an expressway hopefully you'll remember this post and smile to yourself!

Just a reminder....:hangloose:

If something sweet is what you're looking for, try the one, the only, the original BROWNIE | $9 invented at the Palmer House during the 1893 World’s Fair I'm sure you can get one to go OR why not sit down in Potters (Lobby Level of the Palmer House), and enjoy it with cherry walnut ice cream.

You have never tasted anything as good as this!!

In a 2016 issue of Oprah Magazine Gayle King (The World According to Gayle column) picked here (Buddy's in Detroit) as one of her favorite outstanding pizza pies....17125 Conant St Detroit, MI phone 313-892-9001

Buddy’s Pizza has been serving up The Original Detroit-Style Pizza since opening its doors on the corner of Six Mile Road and Conant Street in 1946. Now with multiple locations throughout metro Detroit, Buddy's continues to serve Detroit's #1 square pizza.

I have never been here nor have I had Detroit Style pizza, but I hope to one day...

OK so I have had Detroit Style Pizza, but haven't made it to Buddy's!

Chicagohenge.....

The phenomenon of the setting sun between the two skyscrapers, also known as Chicagohenge, happens twice a year during the spring and autumn equinoxes. The dates might differ slightly every year, so it is important to follow the news.

Sidebar: We've missed the spring one but keep an eye out for the fall one usually sometime in September!

There was a location not far from where I worked in the Detroit area. We would occasionally go there for lunch or I'd pick it up on my way home. My favorites were the East Detroiter (pepperoni, garlic, oregano) and the Motown Museum (pepperoni and bacon). They also had a good antipasto salad. And one of the menu items often overlooked: buffalo chicken Mac n cheese.

I'm looking forward just traveling in general. But an Alaskan cruise is high on my list.

Was there at the end of February and left with WAY more than I had planned on purchasing. I love this place!

Saturday May 1st.....

Butcher & Baker Provisions 4719 NE State Hwy 104, Port Gamble, WA (Mon and Tue closed)

In the past we had only stopped for the bakery goodies but this time we tried the Greek Steak Kabob! Meat and veggies were fantastic BUT someone in the kitchen sure had a "heavy hand" with the lemon when it came to the rice pilaf!!! It was so overpowering that is all you could taste, and I am not a fan of lemon UNLESS it's lemonade!

The bakery goodies, when fresh, are amazing!!!

Starts May 8th.........

Vivian Maier: In Color Chicago History Museum 1601 N Clark Street

Yet more new work by Vivian Maier, the photographer and North Shore nanny whose artistry was only revealed after her death, will go on exhibit soon at the Chicago History Museum. This time emphasizing her color photographs, “Vivian Maier: In Color” is set to open in May. Most of them have never been seen in public before

The exhibit will feature 65 images by Maier from the 1950s to 1970s, many of them coming from a sizable donation to the museum last year by collector Jeff Goldstein along with the Vivian Maier Estate.

I'll have to remember this. Sounds like a cool exhibit. I'm headed to Chicago in a couple weeks.
