Hello Lofters,

I am going to have a Reiki session tomorrow by my BFF. Then i am going to work on finishing my walkthrough closet. Then relax and enjoy my long weekend. :)

I went out to the bar tonight---everyone was so young. I felt out of place... which I was, since I don't drink or dance.:blink:

I had to get out of the house and figured my friends 50th B-day party would be a good reason to go to the local watering hole.

I should have kept my butt home. lol

That's all I have to say about that. HUMMM.

I feel for ya sweepea everyone is so young at those bars, you really do feel out of place. I don't go anymore except when there is a Butch-Femme social they I go because there are people my own age!!

On to other things Good Morning, dogs got up early today and wanted to eat and go out to potty but I headed back to bed once the one dog settles down, he's hyper so he needs time to settle back down!!

I used to attend butch and femme dances here in Tallahassee but that was years ago now it's just dancing at a local place in town on special holidays which is great but I don't see many single femme's there around my age range!

Last night went to a bday party

The rest of the weekend I am dog and cat sitting.. and reading. Went to the library and got out 3 books .

No money so not going to some of the things my friends are going too. Double trouble.. cant go (asbury park nor sisterspace sigh) and so my friends are out of town so I can't go out with them either. DAMN

Oh well... I will get lots of reading in!

I'm in the same boat Ruthie. Long holiday weekend and empty pockets. Still it's great to relax,take naps, get lots of housework and the dog bathing done. I'll get my homework done days ahead for a change.

I'm in the same boat people no money either so its homework and watching movies on tv and relax!! Have Jewish holidays to contend with..going to take a hot shower and then get ready and go which is good to get out of the house!!:|

HI folks.. feeling lonely tonight. Hardly ever happens... but bc of money concerns i am not doing what i would prefer to be doing this weekend. Finally have the house to myself for the week, a 3 day weekend, and all my friends are busy with thier lives. Happy for them... but sad for me. Feeling my "single state" a whole lot tonight.

Just wondering if there are any local people within the "grown up" crowd here. (Wash, DC, suburban Maryland, Northern VA). If I could find a handful, I'd have a party and serve veggie chile.

Seems like most of the people here are from the South, West or even further South.

Maybe I'll have to retire to Florida to have my poker party (those sweltering summers tho).

Hope you all enjoy the long weekend. It's beautiful in DC -- "cool" days to bring summer to a close.

good morning Lofters!! Having a quiet early morning here in NJ with cooler temps but soon it will be warmner I hope!! don't really like it so cool..dogs are walked, fed and are ready to take a nap with the nice quiet here...

good mornin' loft dwellers! it's going to be a beautiful day here in ann arbor and i'm gonna miss most of it cause i was lucky enough to pick up an extra 4 hours here at work...so i'll be here 7am-7pm makin' that holiday pay!! life is GOOD! :)

Ummmm, it's not a casual drive! Bethesda is a suburb of D.C. I could be at the White House in a matter of 15 minutes if I were inclined.

Hi Everyone,
It's still sweltering here in Florida. I look forward to those cooler nights that are still to arrive. I can actually look forwad to winter here after hating it for so many years in Michigan, where I lived most of my life.

Wish I was closer to that upcoming chili party. I hope you get a nice little crown together for it. If I could have one super power, it would surely be the ability to teleport. Why, I'd be buzzing my atoms through space everyday to go visit people and see places that I have never seen.

How do you generally feel about living in FL? At least once a year (in the winter) I have a rush of "why aren't I in Florida?", which tends to dissipate by Spring. Now I"m kinda thinking of buying a small condo in FL just for the winters....prices being so reasonable right now.

What I'd love to hear from you is how you manag to survive the blazing hot, humid summers. Do you tend to hide out in an A/C house and never venture out before dark and cooler temperatures?

I used to go to Florida every summer with my kids to visit my mom in Sarasota and we all loved it -- except for the miserable heat.

How is it for gay people in Florida generally? It's a very conservative state.

Whatever you'd care to share would be super and deeply appreciated.

Jude, I noticed that you're from the DC area, I just moved to SC from the DC area (Reston) and miss it so much. Hopefully at some point I'll be able to afford to live in the DC area again

I'm thinking about moving to Florida because don't want to be in winter anymore...I think I would like the hot weather in the summer its cold to me here today in NJ!!
